August Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 15
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[He sort of knows about threats that aren't ayakashi, except for the biggest thing he's concerned about now, which has to do with a god...thathe'snotsupposedtothinkabout. The second biggest thing he's concerned about now is in fact a type of ayakashi. Might as well add non-ayakashi threats to the pile...]
[...The fact that a shinki who thinks about killing may turn out to be one of those non-ayakashi threats doesn't escape his notice. Ahaha...] Uh—did you discover this before or after we met before...? That you were thinking about it that way, I mean.
no subject
[For example, Hakkai seems downright encouraging. But then, he'd liked Hibari in a way too.]
And for other threats... Not only with those corpses... But we had that person murdering new gods and shinki... And there's also the mystery of whoever wants to overthrow Amaterasu.
...So I guess with all that, I've had to think about it...
no subject
[A murderer...certainly sounds dangerous... It's not something he's kept up with, and he's not sure why. He...might have thought that that was something for the police to handle, but there aren't police here...]
[It still feels a little extreme to him... But maybe that kind of thinking is what's preventing him from making a good borderline? ...That's pretty sad, though.]
[He glances at the target. ...Technically a bullseye represents the heart, in a sense...] I guess I'm being naive... [He shouldn't have picked up a weapon without being prepared to at least injure. He's not doing this for sport, after all...]
A borderline can keep them at bay for a while, can't it? [Chikusa's borderline had kept Fubuki's hand from passing through, back then. So that's something.]
no subject
[Chikusa's dull bland tone often comes off as judgmental at times, but he's not being particularly so here despite what it might seem. There are a lot of naive people here, he's found, so Fubuki being one isn't surprising.]
[Carefully, Chikusa adjusts the knife in his grip.]
That's true... and it can be used for attack. But.... it's good to have some sort of backup, especially if there's no time to make a line...
no subject
uselessnessnaivety and he's been aware for a long time that he's not really a fighter, so the affirmation doesn't actually bother him any, even though there's a sigh in his voice when he answers.][The next statement makes him a little puzzled. He's (tried to) use a borderline for attack once, himself, but intent to kill...as a backup...? He seriously can't understand it at all...] Our worlds must have been pretty different, huh...?
[He turns toward the target and tosses another knife. ...Not even close. Welp.]
no subject
[He makes a try for a throw himself, and frowns slightly as it hits the hilt instead. He'll have to adjust the strength of the throw so that the momentum carries it properly...]
Do you?
no subject
Guess I've been taking certain things for granted... [He goes to retrieve his knives.]
A target doesn't mean anything to me. I wasn't thinking of it as a person...
no subject
no subject
[And anyway, wouldn't it be more natural to envision the target as an ayakashi? Not that he was doing that, either...]
I've...mainly been in vessel form to deal with threats. [And the one time he hadn't been, he hadn't been able to fight back and hadn't been able to run away. But he hadn't...died...]
[He tosses another knife. It strikes the target with too much force and bounces off.]
Well. I guess that has to change. [Now he just sounds sheepish.]
no subject
[Sometimes innocently, sometimes because he's a shit. But that can all just be kept to himself. Another throw, and the knife goes in... but not enough, it seems, and Chikusa sighs as it too hits the ground.]
How long have you been a shinki...?
no subject
[The question about being a shinki makes him pause. If he counts the part where there was apparently a god he didn't remember...he doesn't actually know.] If you're asking how I survived this long...I'm not sure, either! [Aha...ha.] I haven't had to attack anything that wasn't an ayakashi. That probably helped.
no subject
So you weren't there for that corpse festival...
no subject
[But at the actual comment—] No, I wasn't...
[By all rights, it should have been hard to miss, and yet. He can not, in fact, imagine having to attack the corpses, though.] I guess I see your point. [Though...he probably would have tried holy water first. (Even though he hadn't actually started carrying a vial of it until he became Nekhbet's shinki. Haha.)]
If you're learning knives now...what did you attack them with then?
no subject
[Another throw with the last of his knives, which thankfully seems to stick a bit. Not as deep as he'd like, but it's better than nothing. Now that his hands are free, he can reach into his pockets and pull out one of his yoyos. Idly, he starts to spin it.]
...I used this..
no subject
[Reminds him of that time he tossed a playing card at a thing, almost. Except the card was meant more as a distraction, and a yoyo's probably heavier.]
It's pretty odd, discovering strange skills as a shinki, isn't it?
no subject
[Thus it's what he used. Still, he has to say that it's served its purpose well enough.]
It's kind of annoying, honestly...
no subject
Haha, it was better than something you didn't know how to use, though, wasn't it?
But I think I see what you mean. I find it pretty annoying, not knowing how to use a weapon, sometimes. [But Chikusa talks about killing, so that's...kind of...]
[(He will never get unstuck from that, sorry Chikusa)]
no subject
[Chikusa considers it, the idea of being helpless during a moment when he couldn't be of any assistance to his god at all, and frowns.]
...Probably. But you'll have to get good at it... Or you're just a danger to everyone.
