Reaper Mingle is go!
Who: William T. Spears and any reapers of the far shore
When: Evening of August 16th
Where: The temple of Baron Samdi (Ronald Knox)
What: William calls an emergency meeting for any and all reapers. There is something they all need to be aware of. (And because it's being held at Ronnie's temple, you can expect it to devolve into more of a mixer once William stops preaching.)
Part 1 - The Announcement
[ The following is a text that appeared on the BBS late last evening, shortly after the training session wrapped up. It is addressed to those on the far shore who were reapers in their home worlds, however, the only one who is blocked from viewing it is William's shinki, Hannah Annafellows. ]
I am calling to attention anyone who holds the position of a Reaper, Death God, Shinigami, or other related title. Good evening. My name is William T. Spears. I believe I met many of you this afternoon during the training session at Bishamon's temple. However, regardless of whether we met, this announcement is still directed towards you.
There is a matter of utmost importance that I feel all of you need to be made aware of. I have arranged a meet up at Ronald Knox's temple so that we can discuss the issue and come up with potential solutions. Please arrive to the temple of Baron Samdi by 7 p.m. so that we can make the most of our time. Thank you.
Part 2 - The Meeting
[ William finally stands up in front of where everyone's busy chitchatting. He's clearing his throat, attempting to get their attention and already looking pretty peeved. And it's not even because of the topic he needs to discuss, or the fact that it's well past 7:45 and they haven't even begun yet. Nope, the main reason for the crease in his brow is because of the absurd jacket he was forced to wear this evening. Not his usual black dress coat, but a lovely gold sequined one that nearly makes him glow in the brightly lit room. He has no idea how the eyesore of a garment found its way into his possession, once more, but he wouldn't be wearing it if he didn't have a good reason to. ]
Everyone. If you could all please have a seat. We are already behind schedule.
Part 3 - The Mixer
[ Now that William's concerns have been made aware, it seems that the event has evolved into more of a reaper shindig. Ronald has set up appetizers and has plenty of booze available. It's almost as if he'd planned this from the beginning. ]
(( ooc: mingle mingle mingle! Feel free to tag and threadjack around! Discuss the issue at hand or ignore William and just build cr with your fellow reapers! Party crashers are always welcome, too! ))

Rolling to her knees, she uses that pillow to hold to her chest, so she can lean far over those stacked pillows an shine him a challenging grin. ]
You know, it will take more than a few pillows to shut me up.
no subject
[ She should also be happy that William's choosing this over being in the presence of his demon shinki. Oh what an insult it would be if it were the opposite.
Yet, despite her claim, William will grab a fourth pillow, keeping a grasp on one end while he smacks her in the face, once more. ]
no subject
Huffing, she's back onto her knees! ]
I have the distinct feeling that would only make me noisier--!
[ Taking that pillow she has in her grasp, she'll hit him right back, upside the head! It isn't a hard hit, by any means - but it actually has her laughing. How ridiculous this all is... ]
no subject
Will you be careful.
[ As if he wasn't already threatening damage to Grell's glasses with those smacks to her face. He readjusts them before turning towards her, daring to climb up onto the cushions, as well. ]
We have no way of repairing our spectacles here.
[ Which doesn't stop him from taking his plush weapon in both hands and pushing her over and onto her back. ]
no subject
What, can't take it, Wiiiiaa?!
[ Clearly, she didn't see that coming! Bumped backward, she collapses over the cushions -- and in some meager attempt to defend herself, she launches the pillow she holds at William's chest... effectively leaving herself without a weapon. ]
no subject
Be quiet already.
[ The plush missile does little to stop William's attempts to get Grell to keep her mouth shut, and now with an opening he leans over her, pressing the pillow against her face. Apparently, he's completely unaware of what a compromising position this puts the two of them in. ]
no subject
Grell squirms, reaching out to smack his chest a bit, and ultimately grip onto the pillow instead - but when she tries to scoot away, she instead finds that William is where her legs should be, and now she's straddling his.
Now, she's holding the pillow in place in utter silence, because her face must be an entirely new shade of scarlet. ]
no subject
Honestly, did you have to make that so difficult?
[ The redness displayed across her face is obviously because of her fussing and presumed inability to breathe in those few moments, right? ]
no subject
She's never going to catch her breath ever again.............. ]
Y-you're the one making things hard... [ IS HE REALLY GOING TO LEAVE HER LIKE THIS. Grasping at his lapels, she gives him an indignant pout, before he can get too far. That would be embarrassing. ]
no subject
[ It's then that Grell's choice of wording clicks and he awkwardly clears his throat. How he didn't realize sooner is a wonder, as she'd always been one to slip innuendos into conversation. ]
Ah.
[ And yes, he will be leaving her there, flushed and bothered. She can't honestly expect him to move this further when it wasn't his intention to begin with. Sitting up fully, he inches backwards to reclaim his previous spot among the cushions. Unsurprisingly, there's quite a bit fewer than there were before. ]
no subject
Pushing herself up, she rightfully seats herself - knees pressed together, of course - as she straightens up her glasses and smooths down her hair. Quietly, she clears her throat. ]
I might need a bit more wine.
[ Grell will just muse aloud, eyes averted very! awkwardly!! ]
no subject
I apologize if that was misleading.
[ An apology from William is a rare occurrence, as he usually sees no fault in his actions. But after the sincere admission of her feelings Grell had given him earlier, he feels it's needed. ]
no subject
She wasn't upset before, but now she feels-- frustrated. Wholly. ]
William-- don't.
[ Frowning, she stands, tugging at her blazer for a little more modesty so that she can cross over into the bar area with some semblance of pride. ]
What I want and what I expect are two entirely different matters.
[ She sets at pulling down some of those foreign liquors to browse through, cracking open one to take a sniff at. ]
And I don't expect you to requite my affections, now or ever.
[ Grabbing a glass, she pours herself some of the mystery alcohol. She could do with a bit of adventure to get her mind in a better place. ]
My body is a different story. After all, I'm still dreadfully male, as you know; there's nothing I can do about that, just as there's nothing to be done about how you see me.
no subject
Grell, on her own, was such a contradiction. And William, hardly wavering from his usual mindset, couldn't be expected to place all those mismatched pieces of Grell's mind together in a way that formed any sort of logical image. He's unsure why, but that fact is almost saddening.
Perhaps he really doesn't understand his own mind, either.
Quietly, he stands, replacing the fallen cushions to their original spots before grabbing that hideous sequined blazer of his. He was probably going to burn the retched thing when he got home. ]
I will return to my own temple, then.
[ Anything more he says in this moment can't possibly help rid the air of such a thick and awkward tension. ]
no subject
If that is what you want. But I certainly don't.
[ The redhead sets her glass down on the table. As for the other, she offers it to William. ]
All I wish for, is that you'd stop apologizing for what you cannot control.
[ If he should allow it, Grell will cup a hand over his cheek, so that she can place a kiss upon the other. ]
I think you should stay.
no subject
I would rather be here than near that demon. [ Or by himself. But he leaves that off.
He sighs heavily as he sits back down, taking another, smaller, sip of his drink. ]
no subject
Carefully lowering herself into the seat next to the other, she reaches out to to pluck her glass off of the table.]
Hn, good then, I'm glad that's settled. You can stay as long as you need-- okay?
[ Starting to ease back into her typical demeanor, Grell offers him a wink over the rim of her glass.
When she sips at the drink just a moment later, though, her features pull into something of a grimace. Not very smooth of her, but it isn't often that something bites her first! ]
no subject
[ He adds, after it's obvious Grell's already discovered that for herself. ]
I suppose we should get back to the reason I came here, in the first place.
[ Though it's obvious he's hesitant. It's something he knows he needs to talk about, but has never been able to get himself to do. ]
no subject
[ With pressed brows, the redhead's voice just seems the slightest bit strained! Even so, she takes another drink.
Ah, but when William wishes to speak, Grell silently peers over at him for a long moment, tongue passing between her lips. Would he be prepared to discuss such a thing, after his brief upset? (Well, technically hers, but you know.) ]
So long as you're ready, darling. [ Saying so encouragingly as she may, she'll shift her weight to rest onto her elbow, toward William, to offer her full attention! ]
no subject
Honestly, I do not care if the others find my opinion of demons to be rash or unfair. I think they're foolish for putting so much trust into something they could be so easily deceived by.
no subject
[ A little smirk tugs at her lips, exhaling something of a chuckle. She knows very well how hypocritical that sounds - but she, too, knows that demons are dangerous. That's why she likes playing with them so much. ]
You meant well.
no subject
[ It's fairly obvious that he's skirting around the actual topic - falling back on his usual grouchy mood to keep other emotions from showing through. He lifts his glass once more, this time taking a rather healthy gulp. It burns going down his throat, but that just helps with the distraction. ]
no subject
It's something she'll undoubtedly experience for herself before she can hope to understand, stubborn girl.
[ Botan is an intelligent woman, undoubtedly; intuitive. This was an unforeseen lapse of sense, in her opinion - but she couldn't deny that being a bit headstrong was why the redhead took a liking to her, as much as it drove her crazier at times. ]
no subject
She is lucky someone was willing to provide any sort of information.
no subject
Not everyone is so lucky, mm? [ The redhead will inquire, knowingly peering over the rim of her glass as she takes another sip. Perhaps to lead back into the subject, and not entirely subtle about it. ]
