Business Round the Far Shore
Who: Naoto, Izumo, Shizuo, Hibiki, AND YOU!
When: August 18-20
Where: Various locations around the Far Shore
What: Naoto inquires about receiving further training from her shinki senpai, and also confronts a certain someone about a certain phantom thief incident
A. Shinki Spellwork (closed to Izumo)
[Recently, it's become more and more obvious to Naoto that she needs to beef up her repertoire of skills as a shinki. While her borderline training has been rather fruitful, she knows she can't keep relying on them forever as the only tool in her belt. She has her vessel form, yes, but that requires being with her god. She wants more capability to defend herself when she's out on her own.]
[Given how helpful Izumo was in training her borderline, he is one of the first people she thinks to approach about possible further practice and education on what shinki can do. She decides to ask him in person, and so goes to visit him at his bar. It's a location she's been to a few times, but she still feels compelled for some reason to knock on the door to announce her presence before entering.]
Izumo-san, are you in? May I trouble you for a moment?
B. How to Fisticuffs (closed to Shizuo and his temple's residents)
[In addition to building on her abilities as a shinki, Naoto feels it would also behoove her to perhaps work on just basic self defense in general. At the very least, she figures it will constitute a good, physical workout. And a healthy mind needs a healthy body.]
[Again, while there are a few people she can think of to approach about learning how to fight, there's one person in particular who's made a bit of an impact on her as someone who likely knows their way around a brawl. And so, Naoto arrives outside Shizuo's shrine of residence one day, knocking on its front door.]
Hello? Is Heiwajima-san available?
C. A Playful Game of Cat and Mouse (closed to Hibiki and her temple's residents)
[Her errands completed for the day, Naoto makes her way home, quite content with how the day's events panned out. And although she's ready to retire for the afternoon, perhaps enjoy a good book and the sunshine out on the back deck of the Izanagi temple, she instead decides to stop and visit one last temple. It was more or less a spur of the moment decision, as her path home brought her across the front of the temple. It was one she'd visited a while ago, back during the strange fluctuations in Far Shore residents' age. She'd actually been meaning to visit again for a few days now, but other plans had gotten in the way at the time. Right now, though, she has plenty of time.]
[With a slight smirk on her face, Naoto walks up to the temple's entrance and gives it a knock. If its resident god was absent, it was of no major concern, but, if she was in, then perhaps she'd be up for a chat. Naoto will greet anyone who answers the door with a polite smile and bow in greeting.]
Good afternoon.
D. Look Like You've Been Through the Ringer (Open)
[Over the next few days, anyone who happens to cross paths with Naoto will likely notice she's looking a little more bruised up lately. Yet, despite the black and blue, she seems otherwise cheerful. She greets anyone she meets with her typical soft smile and wave. Happy to stop and chat with anyone who wishes to talk or inquire as to what exactly she's been getting into to give her such injuries.]

Very well. Know though that I am willing to listen later should you change your mind.
[A slight pause as Naoto takes another sip of water. She looks around the room once more before continuing with a change of topic.]
Your shinki live here with you, right Hibiki-san?
no subject
[ She doesn't fully acknowledge the other...uh....person she has named right now. Instead, she looks politely curious to see where this will go. ]
no subject
Pardon my curiosity. It's just that I don't recall meeting anyone else the last time I visited your temple, and you're the only person I've seen here today. Though, I suppose this is a rather big temple. Large enough that it could be easy to miss its other residents.

[ Hibiki is politeness incarnate back, if a bit more self-satisfied. She picks up her drink, contemplates it. ] Once Wendy has completed her duties, her day is her own.
[ Would she still like a butler? For handling minutiae, yes. Certainly if she had the opportunity to fetch Ando, she'd obtain the man - and his quality of service - in a heartbeat. That goat has maaa-stered his profession.
But it's....not so bad, this "shinki" thing. Watching someone come into their own....feeling like she's expanded their world....is not an unpleasant sensation. ]

I see... Well, anyway, I just couldn't recall ever seeing you in the company of your shinki. I naturally assumed you had at least one, but having never met them myself I couldn't be certain. I imagine it would otherwise be quite lonely living by one's self in such a big temple.

Even if it does feel a little empty sometimes. Someone else is supposed to be here, and isn't.
Hibiki blinks hard to banish that thought, adopting a thoughtful look. ] And yourself?
no subject
Hm? Myself? Do you mean my living arrangements or my relationship with my assigned god?
no subject
[ Hibiki is settling in for the long haul, here, apparently fascinated by her guest. No one has ever been able to resist the next line. It should successfully clear her - by distraction, if nothing else.
Her smile and her eyebrows quirk up. She is exceptionally attractive right now. And exceptionally interested. ]
I want to get to know you better.

Presently, I'm staying at another god's shrine. There's five of us staying there in total, but I rather like the familial vibe it gives.
As to my assigned god himself, he's dependable if a little bit bull-headed at times. He's getting used to his role of being a god, just as I'm getting used to my role as a shinki. Perhaps surprisingly though, I think it makes us a good team. We trust each other.

[ Hibiki doesn't know what to do with the T word any more than she does the F word.
"friend", for the recordYou may not be offering her your pure amore (yet), but you did answer the question. Hibiki will count that as a win. ] What does your god supervise?
[ Are you investigating things on his behalf, or is this a hobby? ]
no subject
[Hibiki's follow-up quirks Naoto's even higher however.]
Supervise? I don't follow your meaning.
no subject
[ She spreads her hands. ] The way I govern performance.
[ A lesser person might say "what is he the god of". But that phrase contains a dangling preposition.
Thus, never. ]
no subject
... I have no idea what we're talking about.
no subject
[ The fact that this confusion is Hibiki's own fault completely misses her. ]
