[Closed] The Room Where It Started
Who: Three adults (Aymeric, Leo, Izumo)
When: August 25th, afternoon
Where: Forseti's Temple
What: A group of nerds try to figure out a plan. Or just one.
[To be fair, Aymeric has been getting better at self care since his arrival. He's gotten a few personal goals started and in progress but that still left a nagging feeling in the back of his mind. While it was nice to focus on himself, it would always make him stop and try to focus on someone else.
Which leads to now. Most would use the BBS network to pose their inquires but Aymeric has noticed that it is not the best for advice. And he only has two whom he feels like he can express his concerns without ridicule. And so he sent out messages to them privately and upon the replies, he makes sure he has some tea out.
Look they're gonna talk in the kitchen so they're free to raid the fridge during this. It's Sukomi who leads them to the kitchen and Aymeric greets them both warmly.]
My thanks for coming. Sorry I couldn't discuss it over the device but I trust you two the most out of everyone here.

Given that people seem to use the network plotting murders, I can't say I blame you.

[Izumo only hopes that he wouldn't have to watch you two be affectionate to each other. Please be considerate to your guest here.]

It did not come to mind but that is a fair assessment; my knowledge in technology has grown but it is not that far along. It may not mean much now but I do not know how some of the native gods would react.
[He sighs]
It is rather silly but I truly need some advice: I want to be able to give back and do something for the Far Shore but I have no idea where to start. Nor do I want to be satisfied with just prayers and training because while it is what we are brought here to do, there has to be more to it.

[Leo pulls out a thing of cherry tomatoes and moves to take a seat at Aymeric's table.]
If not the entire government, but that is a bit too much like a rebellion for their tastes, I imagine.
no subject
[Izumo does take a seat the table.]
Anything that tries to change the system may be seen as an attempt of the new gods trying to replace the old ones, anyway. I do agree with Leo that there does need to be a change in the bureaucracy, though.
[A rebellion sounds like a good idea, really...]
no subject
[Take it from him, he knows.]
I want to do something that directly helps us here in the Far Shore, something that can be considered a first step and not seem hostile to those who have lived here before us. That is more my focus than anything else.
no subject
[Leo why are you like this.]
Maybe putting together some sort of document or leaflet of how things actually are in the Far Shore, both for new arrivals and for older gods' reference, written without input from the older gods who, need I remind you, neglected to tell us why we shouldn't tell a shinki anything about their past until Axel became an ayakashi.
no subject
[He does remember seeing the new pamphlets being spread around to new arrivals.]
But if you do around the route, it might be good to expand on the importance shinki being more honest to their gods. There has been a lot of ablution recently as well.
no subject
[Speaking of that...]
Indulge me on this but...has anyone else noticed the increase of messages of shinki losing their god or vice versa? Is there something to help along those lines?
no subject
[Om nom cherry tomatoes.]
This whole place is useless when it comes to getting information. [Yes, Leo is harping on this.] Again, the Axel situation. Where temples are located, unless they've started giving out maps to newcomers. What gods we even have present. Learning how to even use the phones we're given--out of the three of us here, I think you're the only one who might be from a world with similar technology, Izumo. I think we're meant to just trust in the old gods that they will see things set to rights, but they're obviously incapable of that if we're here to begin with.
[Takumi going to nag about Orihime may have made this annoyance worse.]
no subject
[He inclines his head at Leo's observation, confirming it.
Sipping the tea that Aymeric so graciously offered, he thinks it over.]
While I'm unfamiliar with the Axel situation, I would suggest a building - something similar to a Welcome Center, if either of you are familiar with the term - where we can actually give out the necessary information. There has been plenty of shinki recently that's lost a god, often having to find a place to stay, as a result. [He may have given shelter to one or two of them that he knows.]
Bringing up the topic of being a 'nora' might be one consideration as well.
no subject
I certainly do agree with many of the ideas such as a central map and mayhap a listing of gods and shinki who need a partner...with proper protection of course. As well as information on what exactly is a nora and how that works. Fury knows that I was lost trying to find areas and how complicated it was to work the large flat...computer? Laptop...from the start. And yet somehow my cat managed to make a posting. But I seem to be rambling.
I do agree that this information is important to let us know about so the mistakes of the past do not repeat and the rift between those who were brought here and those native to mend. Some may be set in their ways but we cannot forget that they too are also trying to learn of a new situation just like we are.
How it is being handled is another matter but that just leaves us to take that first step.
no subject
[But he loves you anyway. Leo grabs his tablet from where he'd accidentally left it here the other day and opens up the notepad app. Very useful for this sort of thing.]
So. Welcome center that includes a map of useful locations and a place for the leaflets. I remember Hakkai mentioning a school before but I've no idea if that's still around and if they have basic computer classes. And since you don't know about the Axel situation, Izumo, I think that should be included. What happened was, several months ago, Roxas managed to break taboo and tell Axel, who as a shinki at the time, about his past. He went ayakashi almost instantly, and as he had been a nora to several other gods--Sora included--they all became horribly blighted. One may have even died, but I was never able to confirm that. However, we know that Axel died. I fought him myself.
[Still typing at his app]
It wasn't until all of this was settled that we learned why trying to break taboo was such a bad idea. But--ablutions?
no subject
[...But thanks for the clarification, Leo. He did wonder why Roxas seemed pained whenever Axel was brought up, but knowing how many gods Axel had been named by - he could see the dangers and advantage to that.
He gives a nod.]
Ablutions are generally specific to shinki only. Generally, it takes three shinki to perform a ritual on a blighted shinki in which the blighted shinki would have to confess their sins. It can take up to a few hours, depending on how bad the blight could be, but it is one of the ways that a shinki could avoid becoming an ayakashi.
[It was...quite an experience to deal with it.]
no subject
[Hmm that...doesn't sound good.]
That would explain why Goten was bedridden before. He helped out in one of those ablutions but that poses another question: how many shinki know how to handle one and is it possible for them to learn if they have no knowledge. Is there any requirements to it and while it sounds dangerous, it should be accessible to those wanting to know.
no subject
[And the few times Leo has been blighted, he has not enjoyed it. He sighs.]
This is going to take a lot of time and effort. We'll have to recruit others.
no subject
[He told Yona about it when Shizuo was blighted. Hakkai knew about it by being told about it directly, by Yukine, if Izumo remembers correctly.
He takes another sip of his tea.]
We'd have to, yes. This sort of thing would need more than just the three of us, even if we are hashing out the details now.
no subject
[As much as it's a shitty Heavens Craigslist, it's the only way of communication.]
Start small and gradually take larger steps. We still need to find a place to even start, thinking any of the abandoned temples given that it is the area where most will be staying...

[He doesn't really go there often, but he's heard nothing but bad things about it generally.]

I do. A few people, actually, other than Hakkai. Then again, they're also the type of people who'd like to do anything to help out people in general.
no subject
[He knows of a couple but they may all end up at the same direction. Small realm.]
no subject
[He is not good for contacts.]
But that's a start. Should we focus on getting a census, you think?
no subject
[...Izumo knows a lot of people who knows people. He got you guys.]
no subject
So we will do this mainly through our connections first before we make it official to all. It sounds logical enough.
[And he can't but smile. To actually do something of impact; while not like changing of governing body or helping end a war, he just feels good helping others that didn't request it through prayer.]
My thanks for not shunning out the thought, both of you. One would be surprised at how some would worry about massive change.

A change is bound to happen. It'd be good to help out everyone here, anyway, and not just sit around doing nothing.
no subject
[Workaholic. It him.]
And change can always be a good thing.

[He looks over at Leo.]
And we can start with asking the librarians if we can use the library as a temporary base for the plans, too.
no subject
[Mainly because he's more than likely spent more time there and can speak to them on a personal level. It would be awkward if Aymeric showed up and asked but if Leo did...the chances would be higher.
That and he believes in you, honey.]no subject
I'll let you know what their answer is.
no subject
Izumo does check the time on his phone, though, nodding to himself.]
In the meantime, I'll go talk to Hakkai about the computer classes and reach out to the people I know about this.
no subject
And I shall do the same. Reaching out to others, of course.
[It will be a very good distraction after seeing certain newcomers earlier.]
