In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.
God Training
- Newly arrived gods are escorted into a hall near the dojo for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior, although the minor deity conducting the meeting is in too much of a rush to take questions afterwards. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as to guide their new shinki appropriately.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Targets have been hung up just outside the dojo for people practicing borderlines of both the defensive and cutting variety. They've clearly been made by kids: they're big, crayon-colored butcher paper cutouts of ayakashi, carefully detailed. Some of Bishamon's child shinki are working on more towards the side of the practice area, with crayons scattered all around. They could use some help from anyone with an artistic bent.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Bishamon's shinki have gone all out this time and created an obstacle course for physical training as well. Climb walls, crawl through mud, jump across randomly spaced stumps, find your way through a maze and collect one of each of five different-colored ribbons being handed out by shinki attendants for completing each section within the allotted time.
Rest and Refreshments
- Since the obstacle course is even messier than the usual training session, one of Bishamon's shinki will show anyone who asks the way to the showers to get cleaned up afterwards. There are hydrating drinks and light snacks available outside the dojo, along with fresh, lemon-scented towels.
In Bishamon's garden, a proper English tea has been laid, with a long table containing sweet and savory nibbles, and small wicker tables with two or three chairs set out all over the lawn. Gods and shinki can sit down for a talk here, get to know each other, and adjust to their new situation.
Bishamon's shinki do seem a little overworked, though, trying to serve tea all around. They'd welcome anyone, new or old, willing to put on one of the crisp white aprons and help serve some tea.

[ Doku continues his hand's movement through the air as if the weapon is already there, as it heads towards Niles, and then the weapon forms right before it'll connect with something, or at least the place Niles used to be if he dodges. ]
Look, i ship doku and niles so i don't want to be shamed
Let's go.
[He's not expecting the longsword. Then again, he's not sure what he's expecting. But he wasn't expecting that.
Niles does get out of the way pretty fast and immediately goes to slam his elbow into Doku's side.
Because hey. Simple is as simple does, and elbows do work.]

Instead he tries to use the fact that Niles is in close proximity to his advantage. He grabs Niles by the scruff of his shirt-- wait, he's wearing that skintight outfit, nothing loose to grab -- so that turns into grabbing Niles by the lower back - not neck, this is a spar still - and still trying to adapt the intended throw maneuver into a slam to the ground, still with all of his youkai strength.
His sword is out to the side yet, ready for retaliation if this gamble doesn't pay off.]

So much strength used on him, he grunts and looks up at him.
The gamble paid off. If only because Niles is fairly garbage at hand to hand. Slowly, he tries to stand back up.]
That was... not my best idea...

That's why we're practicing, isn't it?
[He dismisses the weapon and offers a hand down for Niles to take if he wants, a firm hand clasp that would get Niles on his feet again.]
We can go another round if you want.

Alright. Let's go again.
[He shakes himself out quickly before getting back into position.]
the bad ending
[He actually respects Niles more for getting back up again like that. But he also doesn't think anyone could lose an eye and not turn out tough.]
Ready.
[He likewise gets back into position - and starts to slowly circle around Niles unless his opponent moves too.]

[He lets out a laugh, getting back into position. He doesn't move just yet.
He kind of wants to see the man go first.]
I say again - alas
[He laughs and waits, then realizes he may need to go first.
So he runs forward, trying to see if he can pick Niles up by the legs and trip him or toss him instead of the upper body this time.]

When he gets closed, he backflips out of there, kicking the man away before landing a few feet away.]
I guess I do have a few tricks up my sleeves.

Doku just rubs his chest where the kick hit and smirks. ]
Uh huh, so I thought.
[ Note to self - don't try to grab the acrobat's legs again. Not that it hurt, just seemed kind of pointless now.
He just tries to teleport towards Niles' right side - his blind side - and come at him with a big sword swinging, but pommel first. ]

[He chuckles, and prepares himself.
He's not fully ready for the teleporting move, however, and when he notices it, he notices only a bit too late. He's able to quickly move out of the way of the pommel, but it hits him hard on the shoulder.
His legs, while he gets hit, moves out and kicks Doku in the leg, trying to knock him down.]

[Doku crumples down on one knee when he gets kicked like that, but after he's caught himself and stood back up - limping just a little - he grins a bit over at Niles.]
That you wouldn't go down that easily. Tough.

[He rubs at the spot he got kicked for effect, as if it hurt more than it did.]
Oh well, lesson learned.
[Now he's rolling his shoulder as he anticipates what to do next. Like punch.]
