Party time!

Who: Hiyoko, Barry, and whoever else wants to go to the rave that isn't happening.
When: Right around when this is happening. I'm so sorry.
Where: Ra's temple. And also a network prompt.
What: Hiyoko was just thinking that things have been dull lately. Then another temple starts a light show that obviously heralds a rockin' party.
Warnings: None I think? Who even knows.

A- Network (voice)

Hey! Did anybirdie else see the awesome light show in the sky? I bet it's a party! Or maybe a concert? Anyway, Barry and I are definitely heading over. Anybirdie wanna come with?

B- Ra's temple

[And that's how Hiyoko and Barry came to be standing in front of Ra's temple, dressed for clubbing. Or possibly a concert. Barry brought glow sticks. They're both staring up at the swords. Hiyoko lets out an impressed whistle.]

Wow they really went all out here! I've never seen such over the top special effects.

I don't think...those are special effects...

[Hiyoko nods solemnly.]

I know! They're on a completely different level. I mean, everything is so realistic! Do you think the swords are the band's logo or something?

[Hiyoko no.]

Haha, probably. [If it were a band, that would make things so much simpler... But he (literally) can't do anything about this...] Out of curiosity...do you have a power-dampening skill, by any chance?

[He glances over.] And where'd you find glow sticks so quickly?

Nah, I'm a hunting goddess. My powers are mostly about telling animals what to do.

[She doesn't bother wondering why he wants to know that. Too busy watching the show. But to answer his other question, she jerks a thumb in Barry's direction.]

Barry keeps an emergency supply. In case of unexpected concerts.

Animals? [Wait, no, Fubuki don't get distracted.]

[He switches his gaze back to the light show. He hasn't seen what they can do, but the god who'd told him about one of those swords had said it was pretty powerful, so he suspects that even the strongest borderline he can muster won't be able to stand up to it. Not that his borderline can stand up to much at the best of times—]

Your shinki, right? How's his borderline? Unexpected concerts go unexpectedly wrong sometimes, right?

Pretty good.

[But that question at least gets her attention.]

Why? Is there an ayakashi around?

No...just a precaution. The swords aren't an illusion...

[...He's pretty sure they aren't, at least.]

Besides, if any were drawn here by the light show, that'd be something we have to take care of, right? [Every venue runs security...and right now, they are security. Something like that? Ahaha.]

...If nothing happens, I'd be really happy... [He sits down on the ground.] Nothing for it than to watch and wait, I guess. [And party! Don't forget the partying!] How about I warn you if something starts?

[She agrees with him about the ayakashi, but more importantly.]

They're not?

[She frowns.]

How do you know? Do you know the band or something?

I'm pretty sure I know at least one of them... I don't know if they're a band, though. [Sheepish.] Sorry to ruin your fun.

But she—er, someone described it to me once, and she said it had the potential to be dangerous. So I wanted to make sure.

[He stands back up again, because he's slightly restless.] Let's all agree to be careful?

Whaaaat?

[Well frankly she is just shocked.]

They have an awesome logo like that they're not a band? Geez, talk about a wasted opportunity.

Well...that means it's free, doesn't it? If you haven't started a band yet, maybe you should take it for yourself.

The light show part might be a little bit of a problem, but maybe you could replicate it with...

[He trails off. For like, an entire minute, sorry for the awkward silence Hiyoko.]

—Well, maybe replicating the light show when people have already seen this one wouldn't be a good idea. Ahaha...

[Barry's all decked out for the occasion, with glowsticks stuck into his headband and wearing his dance warmups from the studio. He echoes Hiyoko's whistle with one of his own, staring up at the swords.]

You're tellin' me. They must have one hell of a huge projector in there.

Right? Or maybe they're using some kind of god power? This is a temple, right?

[Because if her god power was crazy light shows you can bet she'd be all over that.]

Hey, yeah, that must be it! Hibiki does that kinda stuff all the time.

[Yup, nothing wrong here at all.]

A most curious spectacle isn't it? [ He's not sure if it's a concert or a party though ] I've never seen something like this, now I'm tempted to check up close.

The swords are huge, now imagine someone who could wield them.

[She giggles.]

You'd have to be the size of a skyscraper to wield one of those!

Exactly my point! Do you think these Heavens have their giants, or what?

[ Japanese folklore is not the folklore he's proficient with so better to check... ]

That's actually a good question. But if they do, I haven't seen any. And really, wouldn't they be sorta hard to hide?

Now that I think about, there should at least be some oni around.

Oni? [ That maybe rings a bell- or maybe not, still not well versed in local folklore ] A local giant-equivalent I assume?

[ a beat ]

Now that I think of it, giants would make a cool method of transportation.

Oh wow, they really would! You could ride around on its shoulder like some kind of heroic conquering villain!

[All starry eyed. Until... wait.]

But imagine the cost of feeding one. That'd be rough on the ol' udon budget.

[Because that's the problem here.]

[ No, girl, you're absolutely correct. That's smart thinking right there, priorities and all ]

Guess if it fights like an army, feeding it also equals cost of feeding that army

[ precious resources are precious ]

But hey at least a giant would need only one blanket. [ BUT HOW BIG THAT BLANKET WOULD BE ]

Do you think that's what it is? It's... definitely impressive if it's a light show...

What else could it be? Anything this over the top has to be a concert.

I don't know. An ayakashi, maybe? "Over the top" is right, but...

Oh, come on! That's ridiculous. What kind of ayakashi would be putting on a concert for us?

[Yuuri just... blinks for a couple of seconds.]

I mean... do... do you hear any music?

Not yet. But you know how it is. They always make the crowd wait a little before the action starts.

Oh. I mean, I guess that... makes sense...

[As much as anything does, frankly. His whole afterlife has been confusing anyway...]

I'm not sure what I have to wear to that sort of concert!

I wouldn't worry about it. Just throw on something colorful. Barry and I are bringing glow sticks, so we can hook you up with some of those.

I'll... try to find something?

[Most of his clothes are pretty plain. Maybe he'll try and get something like what The Youth seem to wear to events these days? ~~He doesn't think he's actually much older than The Youth, anyway, truth be told...]~~

If Barry's going along, too...

[At least he'll know someone.]

[ There's a little 'heh' from behind as Ron approaches, his hand over his eyes so he can get a better look at the swords... and that impressive light show. ]

Awful impressive that... though it's prolly not the first time, eh? How d'you think they do it? Lights? Mirrors? Dirigible?

Maybe all three? On the other hand, this is a temple, right? Maybe somebirdie has a shinki that can make magic light shows.

[It obviously hasn't occurred to her that glowing floaty swords could herald something dangerous.]

Looks like it! D'you think the god's some sort of god of music? Is it really a show?

[ He's a little skeptical, really... but can you blame him? ]

Slight problem with that. Doesn't seem to be anyone else around apart from us.

I did think it was weird that there wasn't a bigger crowd. But what else could it be?

Maybe they're just showing off?

[ He's squinting though, one hand over his eyes as he tries to make out the details on those swords. ]

You never know... we've the oddest types around here nowadays but this isn't the first time, I'd wager. Could've sworn they're familiar...
