( open ) ❀ healing magic
Who: Sakura and you
When: September 11-13
Where: Hakkai's school/the clinic and Konohanasakuya-hime's shrine
What: Clinic set up and Sakura regains a magic spell!
1. (9/11) Hakkai's School ❀ clinic set up
( It's a day of set up for anyone still willing to help. It helps a lot that Ayumu already had something in the beginning so they're really just building on it some more. Through assorted donations, they've managed to collect a fair amount of supplies and equipment to work with.
Sakura is a small girl-- not even five feet-- and she isn't particularly strong given her lifestyle and profession but that doesn't stop her from pulling her weight if not more... literally. Right now, she's trying to move a particularly large and heavy box. Anyone watching can tell it's something she won't be able to do on her own easily but that doesn't stop her from not asking for help... )
2. (9/12) Hakkai's School ❀ clinic set up
( Since her original announcement about the clinic and subsequent attempts to spread the word, Sakura's been hard at work on this clinic a success. She's normally a reserved person but it's clear that this is something she's really passionate about. Thanks to everyone's efforts, set up has been going smoothly too. They've collected a small assortment of medicines-- over the counter and traditional-- and a considerable collection of first aid supplies ranging from bandages to bottles of blessed water.
On a nearby desk, there is a pile of books. It's mostly on medicine and biology but it looks like there are a few books taken from Hakkai's school as well. Sakura sits at the desk, flipping through the pages and writing neat and careful notes in a notebook. Going off the page she's on, it looks like she's close to filling it completely. But as she writes, her pen trails and her head begins to bob sleepily until her writing stops completely, her breathing becomes rhythmic, and she's fallen asleep while sitting up right.
When she hears someone-- entering the room, coming too close, or suddenly making a noise-- her head shoots up and she shrieks, )
-- I-I'm awake!
3. 9/13 Konohanasakuya-hime's temple ❀ Magic
( Someone's managed to convince her to take a break from work for a bit. It felt nice to sleep in and have some time to herself.
A few days ago, Sakura had woken up in her bed to find a set of unbound talismans in her bed. She'd recognized them right away and had gathered them up quickly, counting to make sure she'd acquired the entire set. She wasn't sure where it came from but after a few days, the talismans were still there. She hadn't had time to experiment since the moon viewing happened right after and then there was work to be done but since she has free time now...
The main courtyard is open enough. She should't disturb anything (like her gardens) here. Gathering up the talismans in her hands, she fans them out in front of her and as if by magic (spoilers: it is), the talismans rise into the air to form a circle in front of her. From the center, a ram charges forward and wow isn't this a great time to walk right into a magical attack when you probably just wanted to share sweets or see who lives here or something? )
O-oh, watch out!
( Luckily for you, the spirit will veer suddenly in the other direction and disappear wispily into the air. The talismans return neatly to her hand and she runs toward you, )
Oh my goodness, are you all right? Are you hurt anywhere?! I'm s-so sorry...!
4. Misc ❀ Wildcard/Catchall

[ It's clear that Sakura is far more worried about this than he is. Someday, Hakkai will be able to inform her about the strange and tiring case that is Shizuo Heiwajima and his unusual physical condition. Because it's clear that Shizuo's not good at informing people himself, even when the context could be handy.
The smile he's got is definitely someone who's not in dire need, and nowhere near being in pain. ]
Definitely a roll, and maybe some gauze to pad the area? That way if I do open it again, it doesn't soak through right away.
[ You shouldn't be opening injuries in the first place, Shizuo. ]

( She takes a breath, calming herself, )
Could I see? If you d-don't mind? I might be able to help.
no subject
Sure? Hakkai's mostly fixed it up- I just need it to get less fragile now. This is just to be careful.
[ But he does roll up his shirt, showing the fragile skin, which will no doubt scar, that went from right above his hip to right at the bottom rib on his left side. ]
I'd just use gauze and tape, but I wanted to cover it properly on both sides.
[ Yes, both sides. He said that right. ]
no subject
It'll heal faster w-with magic. ( And a glance, ) I could fix it.
( If he's okay with that. )
no subject
[ Shizuo seems to have trouble regarding his serious injuries as anything more than little things that just are. Which is probably the danger that comes from not feeling how bad it all is in the first place. Either way, his self-treatment was not normal. ]
Hakkai used his weird hand powers to heal it all closed. The bandaging was a whole 'just in case' kind of prevention, y'know?
[ Never mind the fact that he said he'd opened it up at some point before. ]
no subject
I-if I can be of any help at all... ( It would make her feel better. ) Wait over here just a m-moment, please and if you could remove your shirt. I n-need to see the whole wound.
( She's just going to pull up a chair for him real quick as she dashes across the room to retrieve her healing staff. It looks more like the streamers used in Shinto rituals than a typical staff so it probably looks like she's going to pray for him or something, to be honest. )
Uhm... this is a healing staff f-from my home. It isn't much b-but since Hakkai-san has already healed you a bit, I-I think this should work...
no subject
[ When she's retrieving the staff, he pulls the t-shirt off while looking at what exactly she was getting. Not exactly what he was expecting, but he didn't exactly know anything about magic anyway. When he sits so it's easy to look at his front and back, it's clear that this was from something going clean through him. Except it wasn't clean at all. Whatever had impaled him tore flesh along the way. Meaning Hakkai had his work set out for him whenever this was healed. ]
I mean, anything is more than I was planning on, so thanks It's, uh, not gonna exhaust you or anything, is it?
no subject
Ah? N-not if I use this as a medium. ( It's really no different from doing any other task. If you do anything too much, you're bound to get tired but that's different from magic exhaustion. ) Please, let me know i-if you want me to stop. And... don't be surprised, okay?
( And she holds the staff over him and waves it a bit before holding it still over him. A soft light begins to emit from the mirror, down to the streamers, and over Shizuo. The light is soft and warm, the air feels lighter, and there's a scent of cherry blossoms; all reminiscent of spring. The wound should heal-- not completely because she needs a more potent medium but it should be an improvement. Open wounds should begin to close and the skin begin to heal. At the very least, some time has been cut out of the recovery process and it should be less of a concern.
As the light fades, she lowers the rod, )
A few more times should do the trick... b-but it's important to let your body heal naturally too.
no subject
[ There's even an inflamed redness from having obviously reopened the healing wound recently. Though it'd be hard to believe that he's recovered this much in less than a day from that. Or maybe not so hard to believe, given the different kinds of people that were pulled here.
This was definitely different from how Hakkai healed him, however. This came with a kind of warmth that made him feel more relaxed than anything- While the fragile skin stayed the same size, the redness and lines from having opened both sides faded away. In fact, his body took to the healing, as minor as the spell was, a lot better than most people did. His body really did take to recovery a lot better, thanks to the way he'd grown up. ]
This looks more than good enough, really. Thanks. I wasn't planning on having anyone do anything, so you're already helping out more than I hoped for. Just, uh, don't tell Hakkai. I don't want him knowing it got opened up.
no subject
him being more susceptible to magic, his own good health.
She gives him a small, relieved smile when he says it's fine. )
Ah... ( But keeping it a secret from Hakkai? She wasn't going to say anything in the first place but now she wonders if she should be concerned. ) Uhm, if you don't mind me asking h-how do you know Hakkai?
no subject
[ Well, he couldn't say that they were both trying to figure out who was spreading all those propaganda posters when he first arrived, yet the only other thing that stayed consistent was... Kind of embarrassing. ]
I mean, he's got healing powers too, y'know? So it's come in handy. Plus I helped out with a couple of ablutions he needed done for some kids.
[ Just so it didn't sound like he only knew Hakkai for his healing. ]
no subject
Shei listens patiently for his answer and, )
Comes... in handy...? ( Wait. Does he get hurt often? ) W-well... if you ever need a healer, I'm m-more than glad to help, no matter what it is.
no subject
[ Shit, he didn't want it to seem like he got hurt all that often, though. ]
Ah, I'll keep that in mind, but it's not like anything really comes up all that much. It's mostly to make people worry less.
