November Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: September 15th
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to Bishamon's temple, where a reception area and a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a Western-styled reception hall within Bishamon's temple for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior, although the minor deity conducting the meeting is in too much of a rush to take questions afterwards. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki volunteers, both in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's shinki and in Bishamon's red-piped black uniforms, are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanantion on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

An area of the practice ground has been marked off for shinki to practice borderlines against one another. There are several big buckets filled with beanbags that have been generously dusted with colored chalk powder. Shinki can pair up and practice throwing beanbags at one another while trying to deflect the beanbags with a borderline.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

A table towards one side of the training area, manned by two of Amaterasu's shinki in white and gold, has a stack of big tote bags and a scavenger-hunt list taped down to the table. It's a chance for gods to practice teamwork with their new shinki, or just have a little fun while helping newcomers learn their way around the Heavens. The list reads:
    • Rabbit Mask.
    • Volcanic Stone.
    • Sneakers, 21.5cm.
    • Cloth Blindfold.
    • Moon Cake.
    • Badminton Paddle.
    • Calligraphy Brush.
    • Red Maple Leaf.
    • Blue Teacup.
    • Gray Shirt.
At the bottom of the list, someone has added a scribbled rule reading "You may not take items from a temple without asking!"

Rest and Refreshments

The weather is nice, but there are still plenty of tables of bottled water or bottled sports drinks provided to ensure that no one gets dehydrated. Plates of small snacks are also available, mostly seasonally appropriate ones like rice cakes, mikan oranges, roasted chestnuts and toasted crackers, but also candy and snack bars.

Some leftover party games from the moon viewing are set up in a grassy area of the gardens, and Bishamon's younger shinki are eagerly playing tag, blind-man's buff, badminton and flying kites there. They'll happily welcome anyone who wants to join in, although those who wander too far past the party games into the gardens may find themselves greeted by one of the adult shinki who will politely usher them back to the training area.

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Complete a scavenger hunt
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Physical Training

[ While it didn't hit him, Shizuo was at least there to catch the trash before it was discarded and forgotten on the ground. It also didn't matter how large or ginger someone was- littering wasn't right.

Which is why it isn't long before the skinny blond is nearby to take a firm grip of the man's arm. Firmer than what would normally expect from someone of his lithe figure. In his other hand? The crumpled paper. ]

Oi, if you're done with it, throw your shit out properly. Don't go about littering.

[ Ganon's a giant of a man, clocking in a seven and a half feet tall. As it is, he may seem less daunting and more awkward as his head may nearly brush the ceiling lights. He shoots the blonde a testing look as he feels the grip upon his forearm, golden eyes sweeping from the hand upon him to to the paper in the other.

Ah. That stupid scavenger hunt he had tossed out. Why was this man bringing it back to him? Littering? ]
Trash belongs with trash. [ He says simply, equating the flimsy list with the unimpressive dojo. ]

[ There's many a things that should seem daunting or downright frightening to someone like Shizuo. As it stood, his gaze didn't waver or show any kind of fear from the enormous guy. Instead, he feels his temper flickering as the grip tensed and squeezed a little harder for a moment before easing again. ]

You were invited and brought here by someone better than you so you can learn to be effective. So show some damn respect and take care of your litter properly or I'll stick you in the garbage.

[ YOU WANNA GO, BRAH???

....Is probably what he would say if he had any recollection of his memory or rage to fuel his temper (albeit, in a more Ganon-like tone). But in this world he has neither. While he's still prone to having his temper flare, there is a little left of it. He's more disgruntled than outright angry as of this moment, although his eternally-set glare upon his face might be interpreted as the latter regardless. His eyes flick to the piece of paper in Shizuo's hand, and when it does, it instantly ignites into dark, red-and-black flames, smelling of iron and sulfur.

There's a moment where surprise flashes through his features at that-- because how the hell did that just happen-- but something tells him that he is responsible for the sudden flare. He doesn't exactly know how he did it or where said ability comes from, but hey. It works.

So okay, there. Paper taken care of.

But one thing does irk him. ]
Release my arm. [ Not that he couldn't easily take it back himself, but it's more of a contest for power in this situation, wanting to not request it, but order that this stranger begone. He has no right to handle him. ]
bartenderizing: (Bitch say what)

[personal profile] bartenderizing 2017-11-18 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That is certainly not what he was expecting- If there was any heat or danger from it having combusted in his hands, Shizuo wouldn't have known either. Instead he's distracted by the surprise enough to realize that he was being ordered to do something. ]

Huh... I guess incinerating trash works too. Yeah, uh sure.

[ Just like that, the grip was released and he dropped his hand. ]

Just don't go littering again, got it? It's not like this is your home, where you can do what you want.

[personal profile] gingerking 2017-11-19 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ He'd point out that because this isn't his home-- or hell, he's pretty sure he's not even from this world-- it doesn't really matter what he does. But then again, there are sure to be consequences and rules by the powers-that-be like any other place, and he's got a point that it would behoove him to be compliant with them. At least for the meantime. ]

It is not my home, yes, but I do not know what sort of place this is to begin with. [ He looks around with distaste. ] Is this supposed to be the heavens?
