Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to Bishamon's temple, where a reception area and a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a Western-styled reception hall within Bishamon's temple for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior, although the minor deity conducting the meeting is in too much of a rush to take questions afterwards. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki volunteers, both in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's shinki and in Bishamon's red-piped black uniforms, are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanantion on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

An area of the practice ground has been marked off for shinki to practice borderlines against one another. There are several big buckets filled with beanbags that have been generously dusted with colored chalk powder. Shinki can pair up and practice throwing beanbags at one another while trying to deflect the beanbags with a borderline.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

A table towards one side of the training area, manned by two of Amaterasu's shinki in white and gold, has a stack of big tote bags and a scavenger-hunt list taped down to the table. It's a chance for gods to practice teamwork with their new shinki, or just have a little fun while helping newcomers learn their way around the Heavens. The list reads:

• Cloth Blindfold.
• Moon Cake.
• Badminton Paddle.
• Calligraphy Brush.
• Red Maple Leaf.
• Blue Teacup.
• Gray Shirt.
At the bottom of the list, someone has added a scribbled rule reading "You may not take items from a temple without asking!"

Rest and Refreshments

The weather is nice, but there are still plenty of tables of bottled water or bottled sports drinks provided to ensure that no one gets dehydrated. Plates of small snacks are also available, mostly seasonally appropriate ones like rice cakes, mikan oranges, roasted chestnuts and toasted crackers, but also candy and snack bars.

Some leftover party games from the moon viewing are set up in a grassy area of the gardens, and Bishamon's younger shinki are eagerly playing tag, blind-man's buff, badminton and flying kites there. They'll happily welcome anyone who wants to join in, although those who wander too far past the party games into the gardens may find themselves greeted by one of the adult shinki who will politely usher them back to the training area.

[ In fact, they barrelled past that point. Especially if you were hoping that this would be taken care of in a private manner. ]

[ Silent for a moment, he looks her directly in the eyes. Green meeting Red. ]

[ He opens his mouth to elaborate, but quickly closes it once more. As if he doesn't even feel he should have to explain himself. ]

[ She stands to turn around more properly- having more than her sights adjusted to keep contact. That lighter blue eye was still the same as ever- not a tinge of red touched it. Will would better hope that it never did change, either. ]

This is still your current fear then, I take it? Aside from my understanding and other feelings already described, there's no dramatic shift in how I feel or wish to act.

No, it wouldn't. You've never trusted words in the first place.

[ May as well keep Will up to date on everything. She wasn't one for being particularly shady or secretive- her offers weren't exactly given in private, either. ]

Your co-worker has been busy, though I imagine you were able to catch part of that spree at the moon viewing. Her attacks had started five days prior to that. As for my actions- I've offered my services as a shinki to a few people, and two have accepted thus far. One has named me, while the other is considering a name.

I reached him far later than I normally would have. Or would have liked to.

[ Had he been awake, that wouldn't have been the case. ]

I need to find out who he targeted so I can speak with them.

[ That issue is dropped once he hears the rest of her update. ]

So you've nora'd yourself out. For what reason?

[ She can list them all, in order with the dates of the attacks, simply because Grell was obsessed with William and presented a danger to the entire Shore. Which meant they were someone to keep tabs on. ]

There are several gods who are displeased with their situation of current shinki, as an increasing amount are being given 'soulless' partners. Of course there's a personal benefit to me as well, as there's a safety in having multiple names. You would not have to worry about putting me through an ablution, so it's purely a safety from spells.

[ After all, she didn't actually feel guilt. It was difficult enough to feel emotions strongly enough to be felt in the first place. What she's unaware of is the importance of one of those gods that she's nora'd to. ]

[ He would be especially grateful for that list, but there are other, more pressing matters right now. ]

Seems the Phantomhive brat can't keep himself away from your type.

[ Should be interesting if his other guard dog arrives. ]

He didn't seem to have much of a favorable opinion of you, either.

[ At least it's mutual, and also none of her business. They could work it out like two responsible individuals, should there be any conflict or complication. Though it's not as if Ciel was able to tell that she was a demon beforehand. ]

What you've said certainly explains his response after I was named, however.

[ If the dog comes, then he'll just have to learn how to share. ]

[ Assuming Ciel saw the same vision he did upon naming Hannah, he can't imagine it was something the boy was expecting. ]
