Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to Bishamon's temple, where a reception area and a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Newly arrived gods are escorted into a Western-styled reception hall within Bishamon's temple for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior, although the minor deity conducting the meeting is in too much of a rush to take questions afterwards. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.
Shinki Training
- Various shinki volunteers, both in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's shinki and in Bishamon's red-piped black uniforms, are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanantion on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.
An area of the practice ground has been marked off for shinki to practice borderlines against one another. There are several big buckets filled with beanbags that have been generously dusted with colored chalk powder. Shinki can pair up and practice throwing beanbags at one another while trying to deflect the beanbags with a borderline.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
- Rabbit Mask.
- Volcanic Stone.
- Sneakers, 21.5cm.
- Cloth Blindfold.
- Moon Cake.
- Badminton Paddle.
- Calligraphy Brush.
- Red Maple Leaf.
- Blue Teacup.
- Gray Shirt.
A table towards one side of the training area, manned by two of Amaterasu's shinki in white and gold, has a stack of big tote bags and a scavenger-hunt list taped down to the table. It's a chance for gods to practice teamwork with their new shinki, or just have a little fun while helping newcomers learn their way around the Heavens. The list reads:
Rest and Refreshments
- The weather is nice, but there are still plenty of tables of bottled water or bottled sports drinks provided to ensure that no one gets dehydrated. Plates of small snacks are also available, mostly seasonally appropriate ones like rice cakes, mikan oranges, roasted chestnuts and toasted crackers, but also candy and snack bars.
Some leftover party games from the moon viewing are set up in a grassy area of the gardens, and Bishamon's younger shinki are eagerly playing tag, blind-man's buff, badminton and flying kites there. They'll happily welcome anyone who wants to join in, although those who wander too far past the party games into the gardens may find themselves greeted by one of the adult shinki who will politely usher them back to the training area.

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Complete a scavenger hunt
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[Lann has been assigned a new god! Unfortunately it's not someone he knows. So after he practices borderlines for a while, plays some games, and has a snack he's all set to find his new partner.
This time though, he showed a remarkable level of foresight(for Lann) and asked the shinki that informed him of the match to write down the name of his new god. So now he's just stopping everyone he passes.]
Hey, do you know the god, uh....
[Looks down at the note on his hand.]
Asteria?
Why hello~
A Shinki. At last.) I am Asteria. Who might you be?
Re: Why hello~
[Finally! He was worried it would take hours to find this guy. And it looks like they're pretty close in age. Cool.]
I'm Lann. They said you were my new god.
no subject
I have a shinki at last, then? (Maybe there is a reason to be happy.) What can you do?
no subject
Uh... that's a good question. I've been spending so much time trying to find a new god, I haven't had much time to figure out me.
[One of the hazards of post death amnesia. But Lann is nothing if not optimistic. He shrugs.]
But no problem. We'll just figure it out as we go.
no subject
Then there is also Hannah, but she technically belongs with another god.)Then you should concentrate on your skill. We will be entering battle together and if we cannot work seamlessly, our chances are poor.
(He doesn't mind going with him to the lessons either.)
Fine by me. Once you feel more comfortable, I will take you to the temple.
no subject
[Awesomely destructive anyway. He still hasn't figured out moderation or control or that the technique is meant to be defensive. Mostly he just keeps ruining the training dummies.]
Oh, but there is one thing though. See, my first god was only around for a few days and we never got around to the whole naming-vessel-thing. How does that work?
no subject
(He nods and crosses his arms over his chest.) The way I understand it is I give you a name that befits your nature - or the nature I wish for you to have. They are written in kanji somewhere on your body.
Do you have any requests on that score?
no subject
[The name is not something he's too worried about. More importantly!]
Borderlines are those magic line thingys that shinki use against ayakashi. Check it out!
[Always eager to show off, Lann turns and points at a nearby tree.]
Say that tree is an ayakashi, right? Watch.
[He makes the halberd symbol with his fingers and draws them in a firm sweep across the ground.]
LINE!!
[The resulting line is strong. But large enough that it not only blocks but obscures the tree opponent. And also slices riiight through a nicely manicured flower bush several feet away. Whoops. This is probably why there are specific training areas for this sort of thing. And why control is sometimes more important than strength.]
no subject
I'm afraid I do not follow. Are you fond of snow, perhaps?
(Ciel nods slowly as he watches, his gaze critical rather than awed.)
You have power and that isn't a bad thing, but your control...
What if that flower bush was a person? I will help you train as much as possible so we can be ready, as a team, for battle.
(no subject)
no subject
He does look over, mid-bite of a rice cake.]
Asteria...?
[He gives a slow shake of his head after a moment.]
Do you know anything about the god besides their name?
no subject
Uh... no? It's not like they gave me brochure or anything.
[Not that he would've read it if they had.]
no subject
My first day, Nanako came to me. I heard that's happened to others so maybe Asteria will come find you?
[That's the hope anyway. If not, Lann is probably more then welcome to stay in the temple longer]
no subject
[At least if both of them are looking they're more likely to find one another.]
Maybe I should make a sign....
[Because that won't look ridiculous.]
no subject
[At least, he can't see that happening. Making a sign isn't a bad idea...though it may look silly.]
If you don't find Asteria today, then perhaps making a sign on the network? It reaches everyone at least that's what it seems to do.
[To be fair Suou has hardly even glanced much at it but it's something he's been told about before. A way to communicate with everyone quickly]
no subject
Yeah, I know she wouldn't. Nanako's a good kid. But that's why I don't want to mooch off her for too long, you know?
[The network is something he hadn't considered though.]
But that's a good idea. If I still haven't found them by tonight I'll put something on the network.
R&R - I assume it's before he met Ciel still?
No, I don't know that god at all.
[Hmm...]
Why are you looking for them if you don't know them either?
[This was not Yoon's experience when he first arrived and wasn't his experience when he was reassigned either.]
Works for me
I got reassigned. They said that was the name of my new god. But I dunno anything else about them.
Yay
What the... I at least got put in the guy's temple when I got assigned to him! ... Now I'm kind of glad I did. How else are you supposed to know someone like that on sight?
[He crosses his arms, and that's when he notices the strange arm that this guy has. Then again, asking about it probably wouldn't work... from one shinki to another. It also doesn't occur to him to ask on the Network.]
no subject
They sent you right to him? Man, I think I got a raw deal. They didn't even give me a picture!
no subject
[That's his story and he's sticking to it.]
It's still unfair to you, though! It doesn't make any sense if you're supposed to recognize someone, even a partner instead of a lord and master like some of these people think they are. That might be why, though... they just expect the god to find YOU.
no subject
[He spreads his arms to indicate something roughly the size of a sandwich board. Because that won't look stupid as heck.]
no subject
Yeah... that does sound like it would work. But I bet then you'd end up looking for a god who can't read.
[Because that would be Lann's luck at this rate.]
no subject
[Give him a minute...]
Oh I know! I'll just read the sign to everyone I meet.
[Because that's so totally different from just asking around.]
no subject
[Yoon chuckles.]
Let me know how it turns out, will you?
(no subject)
Wrap!
