What: Nanako keeps working on her Picture Project, plays with some fish, and goes to talk sense into some misbehaving Pellycans.


A. Double Cross Bar: Pictures of You

[ Nanako's in a bar.

Granted, it's Izumo's bar and she's drinking a chocolate milk, but it has a bright pink umbrella in it, so she feels very Adult about the whole thing. She's currently seated in one of the booths, the table in front of her scattered with an array of photographs she's been taking over the past few weeks. Sorting them, some get put back in the box she's been carefully storing them in, but the rest are getting carefully pinned up on the Memory Wall Izumo has started in his bar. It's a large stretch of pegboard, photographs pinned all over it of residents of the Far Shore, gods and shinki alike. Sometimes she has to hop up on a chair to reach where she wants a certain photograph to go - and once or twice she even glances around before summoning her wings, when no mortals are around to see, to reach the very top. Overall, she's very focused on her task, but will welcome help or anyone else wandering by to take a look at the project she's been taking photos for, for a couple of weeks now. ]

B. Nanshe's Temple: Down here all the fish is happy...

[ Nanshe's Temple holds a very large lake that is filled with freshwater fish of all types and sizes, most fat and lazy and quite comfortable with floating close to the surface to play with any human guests to the grounds. Nanako's used to them following her along when she's wandering the shore or playing on the docks and it's often a source of entertainment to watch the same fish tease and taunt the pelicans who stand guard over the temple grounds - especially the lake. Whether they eat a great many of the lake's inhabitants is something Nanako tries not to think about much.

But recently, as all over the Far Shore, her fish have started being more playful than normal, splashing anyone who comes close and then darting away underwater once more, the unmistakable sound of giggling always following the surprising encounter. Nanako had been fascinated the first time it happened, having never heard her fish giggle before. And even now, a few weeks later, every time one sneaks up to splash and play, it's greeted with delight and laughter. Although other guests might not appreciate the game quite so much as the tiny goddess...

(Just wait till they start spouting poetry and limericks at you. Let's hope most of those go over the small child's head) ]

C. Ueno Zoo: No One Can Like a Pellycan

[ There is a small six-year-old girl crouched in the middle of a Zoo on the Near Shore, her arms wrapped around her knees, her eyes wide, her expression one of utmost seriousness.

And she's face to face with a cluster of large white pelicans, all gathered in a semi-circle around her, almost looking like a very rapt audience for the tiny goddess as she shakes a finger at them. ]

I know the popcorn is really good and outside is more interesting sometimes, but you should really stay in your homes! You don't want to scare anyone. And you could get hurt out here. Then everyone would be really sad! People come from all over to see you and everyone else here, right?

[ ....Yes, she's totally having a very serious discussion about this with the escaping pelicans. It's for their own good. ]

[ Elfnein is pretty impressed that the escaped pelicans are listening to Nanako instead of trying to peck at her. ]

What if someone brought them popcorn as a snack every so often?

[ Nanako has an advantage here, since pelicans are considered the holy birds of her goddess. Whether or not these birds are actually aware of that or not... well. At least they seem to be hearing her out?

At the question, though, Nanako glances up with a smile. ]

Mmm, they can have popcorn - probably? I know mine like it. But if there's anything on the popcorn, like butter or salt, it's not very good for them.

I could set up a popcorn maker and a system to allows them to eat it? That way there won't be any salt or butter on it.

[ The zoo might not like a sudden popcorn maker in the habitat though. ]

B. As off through the waves they roll (Had to)

[Kairi passes by Nanako's temple and definitely hears the loud giggling. She smiles and heads inside before finding the lake.]

Nanako? What's going on, are you having a party?

[It certainly sounds like all kinds of different voices to her!]

I'm so glad someone caught that reference lmao

[ Nanako glances up at the sound of a familiar voice and breaks into a warm smile at the sight of Kairi coming to join her. ]

Hi, Kairi! No, it's not a party, I was just playing!

But of course! Disney kid~

[ She chuckles a little, unsure if Nanako can hear the voices or maybe it's just her...? ]

Playing, huh? All by yourself?

A. Double Cross Bar

[Oscar hears of a temple that doubles as a bar and well... he just had to see it for himself in order to believe it. Turns out it's true and and apparently they let little kids in. Kids that drink chocolate but nonetheless. Oscar mostly minds his own business and orders a light Riesling wine.

Everything is normal up until he notices his picture up on that board and it looks fairly recent. Who's been taking pictures of me?]

Excuse me... where did you get these pictures from?

[ At the sound of someone asking her a question, Nanako pauses before glancing up at the man with a smile. ]

Hi! The pictures? Ummm, a bunch of them I took, but some came from other people, too. Why?

[riveres]

...Without them knowing it? I didn't know about my own.

[He doesn't want to be cruel to the child, just tell her that you should ask before taking someone's picture.]

All the happy fishes...

[ Splash ]

Tch, so the last time didn't teach you a lesson?

[ Caster can be found being annoyed at the fish again. What else is new. This is it, this is his destiny. Just him versus the sea- er lake. He crouches near the lake to give the fishes a glare ]

You're all so fat, and think you're so safe... Just you wait till I get a new fishing rod.

[ He might be joking. Eating talking fishes might have unforeseen consequences. ]

[ There comes a quiet giggle from behind him as a little girl peeks out from around the edge of one of the dock posts to peer at him with warm amusement. ]

Do you need a fishing rod, Mister?

[ The giggle makes him turn around- Again someone witnessed him at his best - talking with the fish ]

Yo! [ He greets the kid with a smile ] Mhhm, I lost mine. What, do you have one to spare?

[Shun doesn't usually hang around Double Cross, but in the wake of everything that's happened recently around Mikoto and after talking to Izumo about it, he feels he has some obligation to make sure that whole situation isn't turning into a disaster. Double Cross happens to be one of the places he figured he should at least look into.

It's a little surprising to see Nanako there when he opens the door, but when he sees what she's doing, he understands a bit more. He remembers her asking for that photo of him a while ago, and she had said this was where she'd be putting them.]

You've been busy.

[ She glances up at the familiar sound of his voice and abruptly throws herself at him in an exuberant hug. Clearly she's in a really good mood today. ]

Shun-oniichan! Hi! Did you come to see?

[Well, that's definitely something to come in to. Even when it's Nanako, Shun's hard pressed to squash his reaction to something large throwing itself at him - he's clearly quite tense when she connects, though it fades off over the next few moments, and he elects to rest a hand on her head.]

I was checking if Kusanagi was around, actually. I don't usually come to bars.

[Suou has watched and feed the fishes of Nanako's pond many times before. It's become one of his favor spots to just sit down and relax. The fish never seem to mind him, especially when he comes with some bread or something. Though he was use to them being more calm and not as playful. He figured it would pass after a day or so but that doesn't seem to be the case. They've been playful for weeks.

He watches the water with a concerned expression, looking a bit weirded out. Though his gaze lifts when he notices Nanako. At least she seems happy....and the fat fish are getting exorcise.

Fat or not, Suou is still going to feed them.]

Did you give them sugar or something?

[He's curious...though Suou isn't entirely sure if sugar would do that to fish?]

The fish? [ Nanako glances up at his question before laughing and shaking her head. ] No. I don't think so? Do fish even like sugar? I didn't give them anything, they've just been like this a lot now.

It's kinda weird, huh? But they seem happy...

[It's very weird but not necessarily a bad thing. He just isn't sure what to make of it. Hyper and happy fish are fine. It's the giggling he swears he hears here and there that is unsettling]

I think they've always been happy...just showing it more now.

[He tears off a small peice of bread and tosses it into the pond, watching the fish dive for it.]

[The only reason Chikusa is here is because he needs a drink and anyone can fight him on it. Inbetween Hakkai coming back, dealing with Ayumu's feelings in the aftermath, and having to teach spells to Davesprite.... He's done.]

[Done.]

[However, then he walks into a certain bar, and has to pause, looking over at the pictures that are visible even from where he's walking into the door.]

There's.... a lot.

[He's always known that the Far Shore has a lot of people in it, but it feels weirder to see them on display like this.]

[ She smiles brightly when he comes into the bar, bouncing across the room to greet him. ]

There is! I took a lot of pictures. You're up here too, didja wanna see?

I guess.... [But he's not so much important as-] Did you take any of Ken?

[One of the most important people in his life is already gone. Still, at least there's still Ken, and that's the one he's looking for as his gaze slowly roams the wall.]

Are they listening to you?

[He was rather curious about seeing the tiny goddess surrounded by pelicans, so he can't help but stop and check out what's happening.

He's already feeling a lot of different things coming from the birds themselves, making his lips twitch up in amusement.]

[ Nanako interrupts her scolding to blink up at him before giggling. ]

I dunno. Maybe? They stopped running away, at least!

C. Can a Pellycan can?

[At first, when he'd spotted a little girl surrounded by the Pelicans, Trunks had been concerned for her safety. Already making his way over, before he smiled when he recognized Nanako. He was sure she could get herself out of it if she was in trouble, but he kept his pace up anyways. Hands in his pockets as he approached, and that smile grew as he heard her lecture. Completely with a scolding finger, and it brings an audible chuckle.

Causing at least a few of them to glare at him.]

Sorry, sorry--but you should listen to her. Nanako is right in this case.

[ She glances up at the sound of his voice and lifts a hand in a happy wave. ]

Hi, Trunks! Did you come to catch the pelicans, too? They've been very bad. But I think it's because they wanted popcorn.
