Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to Bishamon's temple, where a reception area and a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

That sounds a lot more impressive than Goddess of fortune and personification of luck~ But it's nice to meet you either way!

[All in all, she was actually a little amused by her god assignment, and she had to wonder if it was intentional.]

I think Futaba would be easier to pronounce. I wouldn't want to accidentally butcher your name.

That's okay. Yog-Sothoth accidentally butchers people all the time, after all.

[There were so many questions, and none of them seemed like the type of thing she should be asking someone upon first meeting them.]

[Futaba laughs a little, shaking her head.]

I mean, what if I was like that, right?

Oh, good!

[Marinette is laughing now, too, mostly at her own silliness. Of course Futaba wouldn't be like that!]

Wouldn't that be crazy.

Yeah, literally crazy.

[Futaba can't help but laugh a little too.]

I'd rather spend my time playing video games, honestly.

[Goodness, it was such a relief to meet someone so easygoing.]

Me too! Or cooking, or sewing.

What kind of video games do you like?

I'm really into open world titles lately. The kind of game where you can just do your own thing, you know?

[This is much more familiar and comfortable conversational territory.]

That sounds like so much fun! There's this game I really like, Ultimate Mecha Strike 3. It's a lot of fun too, but it's a fighting game with robots. I'm really good at it~

[She's grinning like a dork now.]

Come to think of it, that's really the only game I've played much at all lately. I'd love to branch out, though! Do you have any recommendations?

I'm always in for anything with robots.

Recommendations, huh... well, what genre are you looking for? More fighters, puzzle games, RPGs, action/adventure...

Oh my gosh. It's so much fun! Words can't really do it justice. You'd have to experience the magic for yourself~

[To say that she's feeling more comfortable with the direction of the conversation was an understatement. She's practically buzzing with excitement.]

Hmm... anything you can give me, I think.

[Her main experience was with UMS3, but she was willing to branch out into other stuff, particularly if she knew she'd have someone to play with.]

RPGs are always fun.

[Futaba grins. It is the grin of a seasoned gamer.]

In that case, maybe check out the Elder Tomes series. It's a pretty good mix of open world and story. You can keep busy for hours just grinding side quests, or hit the main plot really hard.

... Do you think I could find a copy here? If it's something from where I came from?

[She's grinning at that, because that would just be amazing!]

Ooh. I'll definitely have to look into that! It sounds great.

[And now she's trying to think of something Futaba might enough, but she's already mentioned the only thing she has any real experience with from back home.]

That depends on how different this place is from where we came from. They might have totally different games. Alternate universes are weird like that.

[At least, that's what she's assuming is happening here.]

[It was funny. She'd never even considered that this might be an alternate universe up until that point. But now that Futaba had mentioned it...]

Whoa. Does that mean... could there be other versions of us here, too?

[Clearly she had been watching too much television.]

Maybe. I mean if the gods are actually real, pretty much anything is possible, right?

[Futaba is not the type to shut this kind of discussion down at all.]

[Her eyes went a little wide at that. Did she want to cross paths with another version of herself? Not particularly, but the idea was an intriguing one.]

That's true! Wow. I hadn't even thought of that until just now.

Yeah! Like maybe there's a ninja world, or a space world! Oh, or a world where we all pilot giant robots!

Piloting giant robots sounds a lot like UMS3! That would be amazing. Oh! What about an underwater world? Or a fairy tale world?!

[Never let it be said that Marinette's imagination was lacking...]

Sure, the sky's the limit! Multiverse theory posits a near-infinite number of alternate existences.

That sounds very... wibbly-wobbly! I wonder what would happen if someone met an alternate version of themselves here.

That probably wouldn't turn out too well. Alternate universe copies always end up trying to kill each other.

[That... did not sound pleasant.]

Here's hoping that kind of thing doesn't happen, then!

[She'd just have to be... extra careful not to meet an alternate universe copy of herself. Yea, that sounded like a good plan.]

I think I need to look for my shinki. But we can definitely get together and play video games soon!
