Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to Bishamon's temple, where a reception area and a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a Western-styled reception hall within Bishamon's temple for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior, although the minor deity conducting the meeting is in too much of a rush to take questions afterwards. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki volunteers, both in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's shinki and in Bishamon's red-piped black uniforms, are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanantion on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

Someone has brought two overflowing boxes of back issues of From Ama, the Heavenly magazine, which includes profiles of successful shinki and gods, historical tidbits, and the occasional magazine quiz to help shinki determine how well they're currently working with their god or what their greatest strength might be.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

This month, a clever shinki magician has created a dozen straw-stuffed training dummies, some with sword-length sticks and some with polearm-length sticks, that have been enchanted to really fight back. Unfortunately, the spell isn't perfect yet! They're good training partners, but sometimes they might go a little haywire and try to smack passersby.

Rest and Refreshments

Along with bottled water, there are several large boxes of energy drinks and vitamin drinks in small amber glass bottles, and an array of protein bars and meal bars. One particular shinki in white, a bespectacled twentysomething man, is explaining the health benefits of everything on the table (even the water!) with great enthusiasm to any guest who looks even a little confused. It takes great tact to discourage him.

Party games have been set up on the lawn near the refreshments table: Twister, Kubb, lawn Jenga, and more.

[It's still cute and all he think is a little kid hiding behind a parent or a bigger sibling. It's sweet. But he's blinking at Ronald when he corrects him. Adrien rubs at the back of his head with a sheepish smile.]

Sorry, just a habit I guess - Manners and all.[He snorts softly.] Why'd anyone call you something respectful when you're in trouble?

[Adrien nudges at the dummy with his staff slightly, with a nod of his head.]

I'll say. I think they've need to take them back to the drawing board. Should've had a couple people test them out before the tossed them out here with everyone. The fact that they can't tell an active threat from just someone who might be a bit too close to the training area is worrying.

[His eyes widen slightly when Ronald takes that dark turn. Adrien shakes his head a bit.] I'm sure no one would let it come to that. [He wouldn't let it come to that. He'd step in all on his own if he had to.]

Less of a "Mister Knox, how d'you do?" and more of a "Mister Knox, step into my office this instant!" really.

[ He even does the corner-of-the-glasses-adjustment Will does to accompany the line.

He eyes the dummies though. His own curiosity is matched with Noel's own who crouches down on his haunches to peer at what remains of the dummy Adrien had dispatched. He pokes at it with a finger before looking up at his god and the other shinki. ]

First time I've seen them about, really. Must be a new addition to the training regiment.

[purr_ince]

[Adrien laughs softly before nodding. He might be losing it at the seriousness of that gesture on a guy like Ronald - for some reason it's so funny that Adrien is wheezing with laughter.]

R-right, I think I get it. [He coughs clearing his throat and taking a second to steady his breathing.] Right then...

[He's watching Noel, tilting his head just slightly. Oh no, it's cute. No Adrien keep your hands to yourself he's a skittish little thing be good.

Tightening his hand on the wooden weapon he holds he's lifting his gaze to Ronald.]

That might explain why they're so off. If they're new no one took the time to test them out completely or maybe they weren't properly programmed or .. whatever, however something like this works.

[He frowns, his expression turning sour.] Seems kind of irresponsible if you ask me.

[diehardreaper]

Don't tell me boss I said that when you meet him though. He's here. You'll know him by the...

[ And he'll do the glasses-adjustment-thing again as if to demonstrate because no one adjusts his glasses like William T. Spears. There's a small hum though as he tilts his head slightly. ]

Impulsive's what I'm thinking. A good idea, yeah, nothing's better'n a moving target but... well... Noel, lad, come away from there. Might come back to life again.

[ And a jerk of his thumb to the remnants of the dummy. Thankfully, Noel's obedient enough to stand and hurry back to his god's side, at least. ]

Should prolly direct complaints to the proper authorities though...

[purr_ince]

I won't tell anyone anything.

[But he's laughing again Something so serious is out of place with the blond; he seems too lively to be so stern.]

Pfft. Yeah. Yeah, I can see the appeal and the obvious efforts made but all the same.

[Adrien hums softly and he's taking his staff jamming it through the chest of the dummy.]

Don't worry if it does I'll handle it. If it's just me and one I can manage.

[Adrien arched a brow.] And who'd that be?

[diehardreaper]

[ He can't help but note that. Smart kid, quick reflexes, comfy with combat... nothing unlike Kuroyuki. Part of him can't help but wonder what Adrien's story is.

Ah, all these kids not being what they seem...

But he does jerk his thumb over at one of the white clad shinki. ]

D'you see them? They're shinki under Amaterasu. Haven't seen her in a while but m'sure they'd listen and relay messages to her.

[purr_ince]

[Adrien doesn't know what Ronald was thinking. If he did he'd just give him a cheerful if confused smile.

'I'd tell you what I know but I don't - know that is.'

But he doesn't so he's following trailed a that pointed finger, tilting his head to the side.]

So I just go talk to one of them about it?

[diehardreaper]

Least it'll get it to the proper authorities! They're a bit more buisnesslike compared to you lot but they're reliable.

[ Well... he hasn't really complained about them before. ]

[purr_ince]

You mean like stuffy and formal?

[Adrien blinks at Ronald in confusion.]

How businesslike are we talking? Do I have fill out forms and talk formal or?

[diehardreaper]

Blimey, no! You're a charming enough lad. M'sure if you talked to them just as you are, it'd be fine.

[ have an assuring grin right back. ]

They're an approachable lot.

[purr_ince]

[Adrien laughs softly at that. He's not used to hearing blimey outside of anime or in the occasional book.] Thank you. I try to be polite and kind.

You're British, aren't you? [His head tilts to the side and nods.] That's comforting. I'll go talk to them about it later.

[diehardreaper]

London born and bred, mate. Good to know you're just as astute as you are charming.

[ There's a smirk back. His accent's a giveaway, really... but something else does come to mind. ]

Bit of fresh air knowing someone who knows where England ruddy well is, to be perfectly honest.

[purr_ince]

It's the accent. I'd heard it before and I'm pretty sure I'd been there or lived near that area? I don't know it just popped in my head.

[He gave a little shrug of his shoulders at his own confusion before offering a warm smile.]

Well, now you know someone that knows. Even if I don't think I'm from there exactly just some place there-abouts.

[diehardreaper]

Don't think too much about it, mate. Knowing the basic's all well'n good... and it's prolly going to be worse to tell you not to think about it but you get me drift, eh?

[ He's not going to try to look too concerned about shinki remembering things. That just makes things look even more worrisome after all. Just stay casual. Stay chill. ]

Anyroad! Met your god yet? Should be your next priority, if you ask me.

[purr_ince]

Don't plan on it. Doesn't seem very important. Stuff'll come around on it's own so I figure why fuss?

[He's giving a little shrug of his shoulders. It's strange he can tell but he's sure there's a reason he remembers that random as it is.]

Mhm! [He's gesturing.] About this tall, pigtails, blue eyes, freckles, about my age.

[diehardreaper]

[ Good lad. At least he wouldn't have to worry about this one going wild. It'd be a shame if he had to put him down. Just when he thought he'd have found a fast friend in him.

There's a soft hum of thought at the description of his god though. ]

Can't say I've met her but I'll be certain to keep an eye out. If she's anything like you, she'll be one to keep an eye out for. Anyroad, if either of you need hand... don't be a stranger, alright? My temple's always open to you lot.

[purr_ince]

[Adrien is all too happy to talk about his goddess. She's nice so that means he's a very lucky Shinki after all. That and he likes this guy - maybe they'll be friends?]

She's very nice. Sometimes she kind of overthinks stuff but she's nice. [There's a firm nod of his head.] Sure! If you ever need anything like an extra h- helper I'm your guy. I mean assume it's something I can do.

You both sound like a decent lot! I'll be sure to keep her in mind next time the gods're gathered together.

[ His age, huh? Looks like he's got another kid to keep an eye out for. ]

We try to be good people yes. Um her name is Marinette but she's Fortuna. If you happen to want to talk to her or anything like that.

[He tilts his head.]

I know she had a lot of questions about this god thing. I think she's scared and confused about it? Like she thinks she's going to mess up? So it might be good for you to talk to her.
