Looking to train on shinki spells, or maybe just get some advice on how to use your swanky new phone? Kairi can be found hanging around the Welcome Center, the Soulless Shinki temple, and Neith's Temple. Her name was on the flyers that shinki are given during Training, so if you didn't meet her before, it's easy to call her up and ask her to meet you somewhere!

[Goten stares at Kairi as she starts laughing and then breaks into song. Lavi's smile doesn't help either. He watches her for a moment as his worried expression becomes more of a pout. He's trying not to hurt anyone's feelings and tell lies after being teased about not being able to do so.]

....H-Hey! It's not funny!

[He can feel truth spell is fading due to Kairi's lack of focus on it. They're moving on anyway. Sing-song or not, he understands what Kairi is telling him but...he's really lost the will to listen to her when she's singing. He makes a sour face at Kairi as his cheeks redden a bit.

He lifts his hand and points to her suddenly.]

Souki, Silence!

[Goten lets that set in so she can't sing anymore, or so he hopes. The moment Kairi turns around to look at him he's opening his mouth to say something different-]

Souki, Umbra!

[This wasn't what Kairi planned but Goten feels its justified.]

[Wait! They were supposed to be doing Truth! Not Umbra!

She opens her mouth to speak but nothing comes out, even though she mouths 'Goten!'

And then she turns to Lavi.

Oh no, can he see her? Can she... touch him?]

[Sorry, Goten. No need to pout.

But when Kairi grows silent And disappears, Lavi looks surprised.] Kairi?

[If the Silence spell had taken hold of her, then she won’t be able to answer him.

He glances at Goten.]

Makes me wonder if you got something against Kairi singing.

[He glances over to Lavi, arms crossed.]

No, I just don't like being laughed at. I can do it to you too.

[Yes he's still pouting, though it's an empty 'threat' since he can only hold a spell over one person and Lavi isn't really teasing him the way Kairi was. He looks back over at Kairi, being the caster he can still see her so he sticks his tongue out at Kairi.]

[Kairi sighs. She thought they were having fun. She can't really understand why Goten thinks she was making fun of him rather than the situation, but she certainly can't change his mind now. There's a difference between laughing at the situation and laughing at a person, but... Goten's also a kid. So. Alas.

At first, she just frowns back at him and mouths 'I'm sorry.'

Then she stands next to Lavi and touches his shoulder, just to give him a sense that she's in exactly the last place he saw her.]

Maybe after you bring Kairi back, Goten.

[He stiffens at the touch on his shoulder, instincts prickling at him to attack before he forces himself to relax, realizing it's only Kairi.

There's a glance in her general direction before he looks back at Goten.]

Besides, we weren't laughing at you. So, no need to pout over it.

You say that...

[Goten's frown remains for a bit as he glances between Lavi and Kairi. Slowly he looks thoughtful. This sort of makes him think of some of the stories Aymeric has read to him or the kids movies he's seen on TV.]

Okay...but-

[He bounces away, getting a little bit a distance between himself and Lavi. He stands tall, or as tall as a four foot kid can look, with his arms crossed imposingly over his chest. He frowns at Lavi, trying his best to keep a serious face but he does grin after moment.]

I'll only release Kairi after you defeat me.

[He points at him dramatically and everything.]

['GOTEN!'

Kairi yells without words. Why on earth that mattered that Lavi may or may not be able to defeat Goten in a fight for Kairi to get Umbra removed...

She gets huffy, because she can't convey her feelings.

Or can she?

Ah ha! Kairi casts a Borderline between the two boys - a defensive one. And she keeps it there, frustrated. Only afterwards does it occur to her that she was able to use Borderline without speaking.]

Defeat you?

[However, before Lavi can ask more, he jerks back when a borderline suddenly appears between them.

Eye wide, he stares at it.]

...Kairi, please tell me you did that.

[Goten jumps, startled by the sudden borderline. He stares, wide eyed at Lavi--who he didn't hear say anything and looks just as equally surprised by the sudden borderline.

He then stares at Kairi, giving her a confused look]

Kairi? Did you really do that? How can you whe---

[He stops and continues to stare at her. She's not answering---OH THATS RIGHT! He almost forgot about Silence. Goten releases the spells, making Kairi visible to the world and able to speak again.]

[Kairi holds her neck as she feels the spell released.]

AH-?

[And she turns to Lavi, trying to figure out if he can actually see her now.]

Y-yeah that was me, it was the only way I could think of to get your attention.

...I didn't think that was even possible.

[He still sounds somewhat bewildered by that happening, staring at the borderline with a hint of disbelief.]

Kairi! Kairi! How'd you do that? I didn't know you could do that without talking.

[Any pouting he was doing before is forgotten as he's too curious about how the borderline even happen. He looks at her eagerly.]

Try it again! I wanna see.

[She tilts her head as she opens her mouth, trying to figure it out for herself.]

Well, I mean... I don't think I did anything differently?

[She holds out her hand - making a very slow motion across her body.]

I couldn't speak, so all I did was the hand motion.

[Lavi rubs the back of his neck.]

I wonder if you can do that for offensive borderlines, too. It was a bit new to see.

That would be really cool. I betcha they'd be harder to dodge if you didn't have to shout them. Putting up a borderline faster would be really handy.

[He's trilled by the idea of it. Kairi figured out something new!]

[Kairi looks confused when they note those two ideas.]

It doesn't really take any longer for me to do a borderline even when I have to speak, though...

[Is that unusual?]

If anything, when it comes to offensive borderlines, I'm more likely to wait to cast it for the right moment than for it to take longer than I meant for it to.

[Let them be in awe of you.

Lavi shrugs.]

Well, in any case, it's a good thing you casted one. It's brought you back from being unseen and unheard.

[Goten blinks at that. He could have kept her under the spells but the borderline was too cool.]

Ehehe...

[He just reaches back to scratch his head as he laughs. ANYWAY--]

I wanna try to do a borderline like that to.

[At Lavi's comment, Kairi laughs a bit.]

Oh I don't think me casting a borderline had anything to do with getting brought back from unseen and unheard.

[She looks over at Goten.]

That was more about the caster losing focus and dropping the spells.

[But she's not so rude as to throw it back on Goten - he's still a kid.]

Now, are you asking me to actually put Umbra and Silence on you, Goten? Or perhaps Lavi would like to try them.

[Lavi laughs.]

I could give it a try, as long as you two are okay with that.

I donno you make the perfect practice partner, Kairi. Maybe Lavi should do it to you.

[He teases but looks to Lavi with a smile.]

Think you can do it, Lavi? Kairi says you gotta feel supperer over us...?

[He glances to her. That wasn't right was it? Didn't that mean dinner?]

[She nods in Goten's direction.]

That's right. Lavi's confidence in his own abilities has to be stronger than our confidence in our own.

[And she looks over at Goten specifically, eyes narrowed now.]

And he won't be able to catch me off-guard like you did just now.

Goten's a kid like that. It's fun to catch people off-guard.

[Lavi grins.]

[Umbra is one of his favorite spells~!]

Donno.... Hey Lavi, is your confidence in your spells stronger then mine or Kairis?

[Goten is pretty confident and Kairi is the teacher here so he's curious to see. It's like a challenge!]
