[CLOSED]
Who: Add, Rin Okumura, Zelda, Oscar, Lenneth... and more TBA!
Where: The depths of Henir's temple
When: October 1st through the 2nd
What: Doing science on the spooky chaos temple core was never a good plan.
Warnings: Various degrees of mind control/manipulation, existential horror, and at least one death. Will update as needed.
Once the formal party is over, Add is already back at his temple making preparations. A pair of messages are sent to his "assistants" to ensure that they're aware of the date—a simple reminder and directions to his temple, along with the slightly ominous "Knock first, I'm not chasing you down if you get lost."
The outside of the temple is looking especially unkempt and overgrown today, but if Add's instructions are followed the door will open up into a wide dark space, blue cubes floating aimlessly about. Star-like lights glitter distantly in the abyss, occasionally blocked out by drifting dark shapes. Even further beyond that is a giant blue orb that never quite seems to stay in the same place. It's hard to miss, at least, but trying to gauge how big or far away it is might give you a headache.
Gravity appears to "stick" to the surface of each cube—any surface—but only as long as you remain in contact with them. So, get used to floating around and jumping between them. The meeting point is at the largest cube near the centre of the cluster, as per Add's directions.

[So his eyes stay sharp as he makes his way through the factory, listening to the hum of everything around him. There's such noise that he almost misses the sound of a different kind of whirring... And by that point, there's not really anywhere to hide. Gritting his teeth, he jerks to a stop and pulls his hands out from his pockets. The blue yoyos are in place again, ready to be used, and he braces himself for...]
[...A cleaning machine.]
[Chikua's shoulders lose a little of their tension as he eyes the thing. Really? This is what he has to deal with. All his searching, and it's- ]
[That's around the time it starts to grow legs and a weapon, and Chikusa's mental swearing only intensifies. He has a lot of options available to him, except where he doesn't, so when the machine charges.... He turns heel and hauls ass.]
[Fuck this.]
[Fuck the roomba.]
[Fuck Add.]

The good news is roombas were never meant to have legs, so Chikusa is much better at running than the machine chasing him. It'd probably have better luck if it switched back to its wheels. Unfortunately, the bad news is that Chikusa has nowhere to run to. The only exit is in the other direction, and the side of the room he's fleeing towards has only a solid steel wall with no apparent mechanism to open it. The machinery along the sides of the room don't seem to be actually making anything right now, but since they're still active and pounding away inside it's probably a bad idea to try escaping along the conveyor belts.
So, his only options are to get past the roomba or disarm it. Or get electrocuted. That's technically an option, too, even if it's a bad one.]

[And that something is 'shinki magic'. A borderline, to be exact. Twisting on his heel, Chikusa's hand snaps out to draw up a shimmering blue wall up inbetween him and the tiny pain in the ass. It's his own unique borderline, imbued with whatever is inside of him that's apparently connected to his very soul. If the Roomba rams against it, it'll be about the same as being hit with Rain flames from, say, Mukurou or his blue yoyos- slowing it down and weakening it.]
[Hopefully that will be enough, although he has a backup plan.]

Well, only for a few seconds before it realizes Chikusa's played a rude trick on it. The blaring static shoots up a few notches as it swiftly turns its body back around, the red light now glowing fiercely with anger (probably, who knows if this thing is even advanced enough to get angry about anything). Chikusa gets his chance to escape towards the exit, but the roomba is quick to chase after him again.
The Rain-imbued borderline seems to have had a minimal effect on the machine, considering it's already overloaded with more energy than usual. It has, however, reduced the output on the taser. It'll hurt a bit less, but it's still probably a bad idea to get jabbed by that thing.]

[Unexpected success is always something he's leery of, even if it works out for him having to do less work. that means it's not particularly a surprise when the Roomba comes skittering back, and Chikusa actually makes a face.]
Go away...
[another borderline, but this time he tries to make it so that it makes a divide between the path more vertically than the horizontal block of before. This way, he should be able to get right to the exit, right...?]
no subject
It turns another ninety degrees to veer back towards the barrier, but this time it's smart enough not to run directly into it. The machine skirts the edge of the border, chasing alongside Chikusa and testing the border for weakness—in other words, jabbing the shit out of it. The borderline holds, but the Henir-empowered shocks might test Chikusa's mental endurance.
At the other side of the room there's a loud, mechanical creak, the sound of chains moving and gears grinding together. The darkened light above the exit starts to flash red. Slowly but steadily, a pair of thick metal doors start to close over the opening.]
no subject
[So for something to be constantly jabbing into it...]
[The sound of creaking has him jerk his head up, shoulders tensing, and a curse fumbles through his mind as the light starts to go read. With no other choice available for him, he breaks into a run.]
no subject
He's so close to the exit, but it seems like it's already too late, the doors coming closer and closer together to seal his fate... but just when it seems like its too late, something catches. The doors stick, with barely enough room for Chikusa to squeeze through.
It loosens itself the moment the shinki passes, slamming shut behind him with an echoing clang.
He's safe.
... or, it seems so, until he notices the moving chains are still further ahead. There's a second gate beyond the one he just passed, a thick metal grate that's just now finished lowering itself to block off the rest of the path. Now instead of being stuck in a large factory room, he's stuck in a small section of a stone hallway that smells vaguely of sewage.
As an added bonus, there's a flash of blue in the centre of the room, the weaponized roomba appearing in front of him. Turns out even a Henir-infested machine still gets the cool teleporting trick that the ayakashi have.
It waves its taser threateningly, taking slow steps towards him on jittery metal legs.]

Unfortunately, he hadn't counted on the giant mass of a labyrinth waiting for him. So far, he had gotten lucky, finding corridors and passageways that led to other places. The aykashi he chose to ignore. Whatever energy he had, he wanted to reserve for pulling Rin out of whatever he had gotten himself caught up in. No sense in getting into a fight and wearing himself out before he even reached his objective.
Unfortuntely he hadn't counted on finally coming to a dead end of sorts. Silently, he slowed his pace, tightening his grip on his revoler. Sewage. Where was he exactly? Was he getting any closer--
But then the flash of blue catches his attention. He'd seen it all over the place and it was the color that was putting him on edge. There was someone else here though... and... was... that a roomba?
No time to make sense of it. Whatever was in here was hostile. He readied his gun, holding the sight steady and firing a few shots over at the roomba. ]
Whoever's there, get moving! We'll take care of this!
no subject
[The flash of blue light has his lips purse. Great. Fantastic. This is what he needs.]
[He doesn't have a chance to reach into his pockets to grab out Mukuro, or a phone. Instead, gun shots ring out, and Chikusa immediately dives to the side just in case. But they're not aimed at him- his eyes search out the gunman immediately.]
There's nowhere else. [Running isn't an option. As he tries to move around the Roomba, however, hoping that its focus diverts elsewhere, he adds something else.] God or shinki?

I-I-INTRUDERS WILL BE REMO-O-O-VED BY F-FO-FORCE-CE-CE-CE— [It decides to ignore Chikusa and make a charge at Yukio instead, swinging that taser forward to shock him if it gets within range. It doesn't look to be very bulletproof, but it's a bit tough to hit at a range thanks to its small frame and erratic movements. A few shots land on the main body of the roomba, staggering it slightly and making it swerve in its approach]

[ Called back. He's still got that gun primed, just one at the roomba still. At least it's coming for him. Good. That'll get it off the other man's back.
He takes a couple more shots, waiting until it gets close enough before dodging. He rolls to the side, taking the time to reload and landing on one knee to let out another string of shots. Gah he doesn't have time for this! His brother's out there in this madness somewhere. ]
We might have to take this down before we can proceed any further.
no subject
[Ugh. Typical. He's going to have to resort to something troublesome, isn't he? From his pockets he pulls out a small metal box. For now, however, it seems that the other man has things covered so far, so he won't act just yet.]
What is this place doing to that?
no subject
It's still going after him, but it's starting to slow down noticeably from the damage and there's a distinct smell of burning coming from it. It's not going to last much longer at this rate.]
no subject
[ That's priority one right now. He's not actually sure where Rin is but the smartest guess is if he's with his god, they might be in the center of all this madness.
He catches the smell of burning in the air. It's too distinct. Almost. That roomba might be going down soon. But he continues to move away from it, placing as much distance as he can and making himself a moving target as he fires. There's no saying if it's going to blow the minute it goes down. ]
