[As it is, though, Amaterasu's starting to look upset, and it's not really worth pushing it any further. With a slight sigh, Shun turns away, still watching her over his shoulder.]
But if it's bothering you that much, I'll go. I imagine you have other things you want to think about tonight.

[Her ire is fading, and there's a little concern showing in her expression instead as she returns his gaze.]

...I do, and I know a lot of others do. I've seen those patrols while I've been doing my own, so I know you're all doing something. But in the past, it's felt more like the security is for the benefit of the established gods, not for the rest of us. I think it's going to take time to make people believe that they can rely on that help, instead of just relying on ourselves.
[If she is interested in changing things, though...] A lot of the new gods and shinki do our own patrols. If you hope for us to rely on you and trust in our safety, then know there are people among our number that can be relied on for your own as well. I don't think security here should be one-sided. We can all at least agree that we want a safe place here.

[The Heavens should be safe. She frowns.]
But I don't see why you'd think the patrols weren't to help any of you. We all live here, don't we?
[Her tone is genuinely unsure now.]
no subject
We do, but whatever information comes out of the patrols and other searches never makes it back to us. It makes people feel like they're ultimately not trusted, and that the older gods and shinki still don't care all that much about what happens to us, because we're never informed on what's actually going on. Even if we ask, a lot of the older shinki are reluctant to talk to us.

[After all, she's accepted the new gods and shinki! Although maybe her shinki are worried about all of the things that have happened since they arrived.
But if it's true that they're reluctant to speak to newcomers, then she should talk to them.]
And we'd tell you if we did find anything....
no subject
That last note makes him frown a bit, though, more out of thought than anything.] You really haven't found anything at all on the incursions or attacks?
[It was obvious enough that the culprits were covering their tracks well, but that's a little too well to not be suspicious.]
no subject
[Her shoulders hunch up, just slightly, as she looks down at the floor.]
But I apologize for the rudeness of my shinki. I'll be sure to let them know that they should answer questions, if you and the other new gods have any.
no subject
Still, it might be something to worry about when his focus isn't so scattered by the crowd in the room, so he just nods a little.]
Some of them are better about it than others, but we could do with exchanging information between ourselves being more normal than it is now. That should help.
If something comes up about the attacks and you need help investigating, I'm open to it.
no subject
[She adds, more quietly:] I really do appreciate your help. But we're doing our best, too.

[As it is, it seems the conversation has come to a proper close this time, so Shun inclines his head slightly and starts to turn away again.] Keep an eye on the dancers if you want to dance. You might pick some things up before you do it yourself.
