I'm not that great...Plus, it's just to have fun! Who cares what others think?

[Chinatsu holds her hand out to Natsuru encouragingly, waiting for her confidence to build up.]

I've got you.

[Natsuru would disagree about Chinatsu being 'not that great'. She has a point about having fun, though. It's not as if they're being judged for a performance, it's just supposed to be about enjoying the party.

She glances down at Chinatsu's outstretched hand for a brief moment, before looking up and nodding with a smile.]

Yeah... okay.

[She reacts much like when Hibiki offered her hand, gingerly taking it and appearing every inch the reserved, modest young lady. Chinatsu is the one with experience, after all. It makes sense for her to take the lead.]

You have every reason to be confident in yourself, Natsuru-san.

[In her opinion, Natsuru and the others had a more well-rounded performance. Chinatsu could only do one thing, but the others did way more. Honestly, their performances had her respecting them a lot more.

Leading them to the dance floor, Chinatsu guides Natsuru closer to her. Sure there was a height difference, but they'd make it work. She places her hand firmly right beneath her shoulder blade. There's something comfortable about having Natsuru in her arms, a sense of familiarity. Any smug confidence she tried to show earlier morphed into assurance; assurance that she wouldn't let anything bad happen to Natsuru and that things would be alright.]

Are you ready?

['Every reason'? Really?! Someone who could dance like Chinatsu thinks that about her??? She lowers her eyes for a moment, blushing.]

Ah... th-thank you.

[Fortunately, Natsuru's used to being taller than her dance partners, even if she can't recall ever dancing like this before tonight. When Chinatsu guides her closer and takes hold of her, Natsuru's free hand naturally alights on the other girl's upper arm.

The assuring look when she meets Chinatsu's gaze again helps to calm her nerves a lot. Even though they'd barely spoken before, she feels an undeniable trust in Chinatsu to take care of her in a situation like this. With a shy smile, she nods her agreement.]

Mm-hm.

[She's as ready as she'll ever be. And her entire focus right now, for at least the first few moments while they hopefully get into a rhythm, is on following Chinatsu's lead.]

[Once the music for the next song begins, Chintasu takes a step forward, taking advantage of Natsuru's height and taking wider and longer strides. She pivots them on one foot, her hold on Natsuru steady as she guides her in reverse. Their movements sway like a pendulum, Chinatsu feeling oddly calm as she allows her body to move on its own. It felt right to follow the music like this. It was like having a blank canvas and the freedom to paint whatever you wanted with it.

As they turn again, she dips Natsuru slightly, making sure to carry her weight as she pulls her back up again.]

[As Chinatsu continues to move, Natsuru feels increasingly swept along, as if by some unknown force. Her body is keeping up, following the steps and movements, while her mind is swimming. She can't recall ever having danced with a partner quite like this before, but it's surprisingly feeling like one of those things her body just knows how to do. She might feel a little more lost if she were leading, but in this instance she feels like she can trust Chinatsu to guide her.

That feeling of trust turns out to be a very good thing, indeed. The move Chinatsu makes to dip her and pull her back up catches Natsuru by surprise, making her gasp softly. She trusts her partner, though, and chuckles softly once she's completely upright again.]

Wow...

[This feels... pretty incredible, and that shows in her smile. She almost can't believe she hasn't tripped over herself (or Chinatsu) yet through all of this.]

[Chinatsu definitely appreciates how Natusur follows along, enjoying how nothing's holding her back.]

[The thrill of the dance is definitely loosening her up, and she admits her feelings without reservation.]

I've only done basic steps before. Nothing like that...

[The dip in particular is what she's thinking about. Dips and twirls and all those other flourishes have felt out of her reach, yet with Chinatsu she feels like she could get used to it. Maybe her practice really is having more results than she thought?]

Hmm..I couldn't really tell. [The smile is genuine, and really, Chinatsu was enjoying herself enough to not pay attention to those details. It felt so natural, and Natsuru made it even easier to feel that way.]

[She says this, because she's about to spin Natsuru out, holding an arm out as if presenting her to the crowd. It's up to Natsuru how she wishes to finish. Chinatsu's role as the lead was done. This was all Natsuru now.]
