[closed] it's not a nutritional dinner
Who: Chikusa, Ken, and all the people invited to Hakkai's temple
When: October 12
Where: Li Tieugai's temple in the Central District
What: Having recently lost their other god, Ken is sad by yet another loss.... so Chikusa is fixing this with his dog's favorite things: people he likes and copious amounts of meat.
Unless people actually ask, Chikusa.... doesn't exactly tell what time the dinner is actually going to be at. At least he'll probably tell them that Hakkai's temple moved? One would hope.
The temple of Iron Crutch Li doesn't really seem all that impressive upon approaching it, despite being in the Central District. The walled gardens are certainly large and lovely enough, if a little wild, but the building itself is rather plain at its two stories. There's a small sign attached to the front door that simply says 'come in'. Chikusa isn't going to bother answering the door for visitors. It's not like Hakkai locks that thing anyway.
The inside of the temple is about as sparsely decorated as its outside, but, today, the overwhelming smell wafting from the kitchen has overtaken any medicinal smells that might normally be about. It adds a certain warmth to the room.
Until dinner will be served a little later into the night, people are free to do whatever- hang about the gardens, go bother Chikusa in the kitchen, or otherwise find the other residents of the temple. Chikusa won't care to stop anyone, although Hakkai might.
As for dinner? Chikusa is serving so much meat: rabbit stew with olives and rosemary, swordfish, curried chicken, veal marsala, and a more traditional spaghetti served with meatballs. Fortunately, at least there's garlic bread and stuffed mushrooms, so there's something that isn't meat.... And for dessert? Zeppole, cannoli, and an apple ciambella with almond cream.

Still it's nice to meet you Hakkai. [He frowns lightly, concern flashing in his eyes.] They did? That's not good. Have they been doing okay?
[If he'd have known they were having a hard go of it he really wouldn't have stopped Marinette from making her usually pastry gift or whatever she'd been planning on making to bring over. The blond glances over to Marinette before giving a little nod.]
We're going to have to just make sure the night passes pleasantly then.

Are you one of the ones who are older than they look? [Yes, this was definitely the best question she could have asked right now. But she remembered something Ron had mentioned and she was curious.]
Yea, he mentioned he was going to do all of it. Do you think he'd mind sharing his recipes if I asked?
[She's nodding at Adrien's statement and shifting a little to stand slightly closer to him.]

[He actually suspects Chikusa had found some of the recipes online, but others he'd seemed to know by heart. Still. Hakkai smiles brightly, and adds:]
Do I look that young? -- And please don't worry, Adrien, they have. Part of the reason for this is so that they can enjoy themselves, after all.
Sorry I didn't get to this before I didn't he a notif for it even though I tracked it.
[He's tilting his head at Marinette's question though. Then those bright green eyes are on Hakkai. Hakkai does seem kind of young but- he shrugs.]
Still, we want to keep that forward positive; pleasant momentum going, right?

[She's nodding at that.] I can't decide if you look really young or not. But sometimes it's hard to tell here, and I'm not always the best judge of things like that.
[Adrien has the right idea, though.] Yea! We want to make the evening as enjoyable as possible.

And I hope the two of you will be able to help him out -- although if I were you, Marinette, I wouldn't set my heart on getting that recipe out of Chikusa.

We'l do our best. If nothing else just ask him what they're called and save it in your phone to look up later. Worse case we'll never find one exactly the same but we'll get pretty close.

Yea, I hope we're able to help make things a little for them. I don't know Chikusa that well either, but he invited me... so I want to honor that by doing my best. And maybe I'll just mention how much I enjoyed the food and see how it goes from there. I could always try to look things up later anyway.

[The blond is glancing over to his companion. Est-ce exact? hovers on the tip of his tongue but he bites it back. The kid knows too many languages.] Right, My Lady?

And I think it will! It's always hard to lose someone you've known, but remembering that he does still have friends here should help.
