[closed] it's not a nutritional dinner
Who: Chikusa, Ken, and all the people invited to Hakkai's temple
When: October 12
Where: Li Tieugai's temple in the Central District
What: Having recently lost their other god, Ken is sad by yet another loss.... so Chikusa is fixing this with his dog's favorite things: people he likes and copious amounts of meat.
Unless people actually ask, Chikusa.... doesn't exactly tell what time the dinner is actually going to be at. At least he'll probably tell them that Hakkai's temple moved? One would hope.
The temple of Iron Crutch Li doesn't really seem all that impressive upon approaching it, despite being in the Central District. The walled gardens are certainly large and lovely enough, if a little wild, but the building itself is rather plain at its two stories. There's a small sign attached to the front door that simply says 'come in'. Chikusa isn't going to bother answering the door for visitors. It's not like Hakkai locks that thing anyway.
The inside of the temple is about as sparsely decorated as its outside, but, today, the overwhelming smell wafting from the kitchen has overtaken any medicinal smells that might normally be about. It adds a certain warmth to the room.
Until dinner will be served a little later into the night, people are free to do whatever- hang about the gardens, go bother Chikusa in the kitchen, or otherwise find the other residents of the temple. Chikusa won't care to stop anyone, although Hakkai might.
As for dinner? Chikusa is serving so much meat: rabbit stew with olives and rosemary, swordfish, curried chicken, veal marsala, and a more traditional spaghetti served with meatballs. Fortunately, at least there's garlic bread and stuffed mushrooms, so there's something that isn't meat.... And for dessert? Zeppole, cannoli, and an apple ciambella with almond cream.

[Oh lord, not that look. She's just not going to get sucked in this time. Somehow.] That's not all. [Though really as long as she had him with her, everything else would just fall into place.] You think I'm being silly? But you're right. And I think I sleep better with you.
[She realizes he doesn't quite get it. As frustrating as that is, she's not going to try and spell it out for him just yet.] So would I.
[Mari nods and grins up at him.] I'll do that. You're sweet to worry about me.

[Yep, that look. Bright green eyes are focused on her then he leans to rest his head atop hers.] Maybe a little. It's kind of silly to want something you already have. I sleep better with you, too. [Less waking up in a panic he can't explain thought he's been doing better at not screaming loud enough to wake her.. he only does it once in a while now.]
Well, I'd hope so!
[Just have a hum.] I wouldn't want to see you hurt.

[Mari is pretty sure that look is going to be the death of her one day. But today is not that day.] You might be right about that. [Truthfully, that's not all she wants. But it's good enough for now. And it makes her happy to hear that having her nearby helps him sleep better.] I'm glad.
[This is definitely one of those times she wishes she could just tell him the truth and be done with it. Having to stick to vague half-truths is just frustrating.] What about you? What do you see when you think about the future?
[The feeling is absolutely mutual there.] I know. I'm really lucky to have you looking out for me. But I don't want to see you hurt either.

I know I am. But it's kind of sweet at the same time. [But he's not going anywhere. He's going to always be there for games, for movies, to help her and keep her safe.] Me, too.
The future? I guess that depends on where I am. If I'm back home piecing my life back together - assuming I can't go with you. I did want to and if that's the case maybe we can just stay together - meet your parents stuff like that. We did talk about it.
I know but we'll be okay. I don't think we have to worry about that.
no subject
Yea? [For some reason that makes her ridiculously happy to hear that. Then again, she's heavily biased and not even afraid to admit it.] I'm glad you're glad.
[And maybe asking about his future plans was tempting fate a little, but she's genuinely curious.] We'll just have to find a way to make sure you come back with me. [Not that that would even be a problem...]
We'll be okay as long as we're together.

I wouldn't lie to you, Mari. [He's just grinning at her.] How could I not be? It's great.
[Adrien's grin becomes a bright sunny smile. He really would like that. There wouldn't be a better place to be.] I'm sure that we can find a way to make that happen. [They'll make it happen he's sure of that. They're both that stubborn.]
Right. [Just this little nod of his head as he tugs her to settle against his side.]
no subject
I know. [That's probably the last thing he'd ever do. And she can't really argue with that logic, so she's just going to shrug and smile.]
We'll absolutely make it happen. [She'll just have to figure out a way to fill him in when the time comes.]
Right! [Mari's more than happy to settle against his side, though her face warms a little and she can feel her cheeks burning.]
no subject
Good. [He knows so when she smiles he just gives a little nod clearly pleased.]
For now we're fine. Let's just enjoy the movie. [He'll carry her home later for now he's content to just be.]
