Cookies for Heaven

Who: Princess Celestia

Where: All around the Far Shore
What: Princess Celestia brings cookies and, perhaps more importantly, wellness checks to the temples of the Far Shore.


Two things circled each other in Celestia's mind, forming a taijutu symbol in the way each completed the other: A lot of people in the Far Shore really needed some personal attention, friendship, and care; and she had, thanks to practice and effort, gotten quite good at baking cookies.

So each morning, Celestia cheerfully moved dough into her oven on sheet after sheet, the entire kitchen in Inti's temple animated in golden light like Merlin himself had set it all to baking-- and each afternoon, Celestia took wing above the Far Shore, traveling from temple to temple to seek out the inhabitants therein.

So at some point, an alicorn will come knocking at your door, with a bright smile on her face and a basket of cookies floating by her side.

Huh well there's a lot of things like that. I guess it would hard to know what it would be. I bet it would be fencing though. That's something I like and am passionate about.

Those are two very good indications! [Not perfect ones, but fairly reliable. Celestia can't help but laugh, though -- the point is so academic.]

[He's sipping at his lemonade flashing her a grin. He gestures with his glass after a moment toward her wings.] So what's it like to fly? Is it as fun as I suppose most people imagine it to be?

[Wry amusement instantly becomes sincere delight, in her eyes and the perk of her ears and the twitches in her wings.] Oh, absolutely! It's absolutely delightful, and I am glad beyond words that I get the chance to so much here.

[purr_ince]

[Okay that's cute. He can't help the way his grin widens into a full smile at her obvious happiness.] Really? I'm sure that must be really something! The wind the freedom.

Well. If you ever want to try... [Oh, her smile is definitely sly and mischievous now.]

[purr_ince]

Wait what? You could take me flying? Really?! [He seems absolutely giddy with excitement at the mere implication.] I'd love that!

[letteropener]

Oh, in a sense. You see, I know a spell that can grant wings, temporarily, to somepony.

[A complicated and tricky spell, but well within her abilities. Sometimes it's good to be her.]

[purr_ince]

[His head tilts to the side.] Well, I wouldn't want to impose. [Because he knows spells are kind hard sometimes but he really does want to try it.] Would it work for a human, do you think?

[letteropener]

It's hardly an imposition if I offered, now is it? [Honestly, there's politeness and then there's that!]

I have no doubt it will. It is, after all, magic.

[purr_ince]

Well, I suppose not? But I didn't want to seem over eager. I mean that kind of thing must be a bit difficult and take a decent amount of time to do.

I'd like to try it sometime. [A shy little smile settled on his features and his expression softened. He'll have to do something nice for her.] Thank you, Celestia.

Then we'll plan for it at some time in the future.

[And oh, if Celestia doesn't have a very, very impish gleam in her eyes.]

Or perhaps I should cast the spell for both you and Marinette, so you could experience it together.

[purr_ince]

Sounds good to me.

[And just like that he's blushing a dreamy far away look on his face. He might be imagining that so give him a minute or two,]

Maybe? If she wanted to that would be... nice.

She seems very adventurous and eager. I bet she would like it a lot. You should suggest it to her.

[Meddle, meddle...]

[purr_ince]

I suppose you could say she is. She certainly doesn't shrink away from monsters or rushing to help people so there's that.

[He blinks before nodding.]

I mean one of us would have to if we wanted her to fly, too. Do you really think she'd like it?

[Were you hoping for more? Oh Celestia you're going to learn that this little kitten is so every oblivious.]

[...if he actually has to ask if Marinette would like flying, Celestia is pretty sure he'll be questioning if she likes them as they're walking down the aisle on a hypothetical wedding day.]

[THIS is going to take some effort.]

I have a hunch, and you should certainly suggest it to her. [Not Celestia!]

[purr_ince]

If you say so, Your Highness. [His tone is playful and teasing.] You're kind of the authority on girls as far as I'm concerned so I'll be taking your word for it.

And I am quite happy to put my knowledge to good use on your behalf. [Whether he wants it or not!]

[purr_ince]

I'll be grateful for it honestly. I've never like, liked someone before so it's all kind of.. confusing.

[letteropener]

Perhaps it is, but you can see it through if you have confidence and the real desire to try.

[Not necessarily succeed, but then, not trying is certain to fail.]

[purr_ince]

I do want to try. It's just getting everything in order first. I mean - it's kind of sudden and I want to be sure? I don't want to hurt her or make her sad by telling her I like her and it be something different. I want to be completely sure.

[But it's pretty clear from how he's acting that it's serious and not likely to change too much in the future.]

I have lived two thousand years now, and there are still many things I am not 'completely sure' about. So bear that in mind, and think well.

[She's not saying 'hurry hurry'... just not to let caution override chance.]

[purr_ince]

Oh. Well I'm just.. I want to be sure I'm not confusing my feelings is all. It doesn't seem like just friends. It doesn't feel like just friends. I figure by the time I finish her song I'll be sure.

Well, I certainly will look forward to hearing this song... if you'll share it with me, once she has heard it? [Obviously, Marinette has to be first.]
