Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the Meeting Hall, where a reception area and a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Newly arrived gods are escorted into a traditional reception room within the Meeting Hall for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.

Shinki Training

Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.

A training game has been set up through a section of the Meeting Hall gardens, with little cut-outs of ayakashi hidden in the landscaping, tucked into bushes or taped under bridges. Prize ribbons are being offered for every ten "ayakashi" a shinki (or team) discovers.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki. Several magically animated straw-stuffed training dummies, many of which have been carefully mended and patched with neat black stitching, are set up on the lawn with a white-robed shinki hovering nearby to watch over them. They make good training partners, although anyone who comes too close risks being targeted for a sparring match whether they wanted one or not.

The pond behind the dojo has had dozens wooden poles sunk in it, spaced a few feet apart, with a bunch of brightly colored ribbons tied around the pole in the very center. Some of the white-robed shinki are practicing scaling the poles and leaping from one to the next, until they get close enough that they can snatch a ribbon from the center pole, and several have fallen in and are being teased by their fellows.

Rest and Refreshments

Instead of snacks being served at the training session, this week, white-robed shinki with little flags are conducting groups of newcomers and volunteers down to the Tokyo Daijingu shrine and into a street festival currently being held in Tokyo. Traditional dance troupes are performing on street corners, and vendors have every kind of fall street foods, from barbecue to takoyaki, chocolate-dipped bananas and red-bean pancakes. New arrivals will get a white-and-gold envelope with spending money for the fair, although gods and shinki who have had some time to settle in will have to handle their own lunch expenses.

[ He was mostly here to try out the dessert festival foods that were obviously mainly fruit. Like the chocolate bananas and such. However he recognizes Nari from the autumn reception, and while no one had actually talked about it properly, there was nothing wrong with meeting people.

Similar to back then, he's wearing modern clothes that match a fashion that Izumo would think looked good and right for someone like Judar. As in, something that's easy to put on despite all that hair, which doesn't look like a disaster. ]

[Having a stranger come up to you is one thing, but to have that strange point out that they know about your love life is a little weirder.

Nari looks Judar up and down as he raises an eyebrow.]

Usually one introduces themselves before asking about something like that. I don't talk about things like that with just anyone.

[This guy did look a little familiar... so he's been around a while? Not that Nari is much of a social butterfly. Who knows how many people know Izumo in the end.]

Ah, right.

[ Judar does his version of pulling up a chair to get comfy. Which is really just sitting and floating in the air with the same level of casualness.

He hasn't been around for that long, however- Just a few weeks at this point. ]

I guess that's what happens when two gods get together and don't introduce each other to their shinki. I'm Judar- one of Izumo's shinki.

[Not the strangest ability he's seen, but it's pretty neat.]

Izumo already knows mine-[Except Akechi]-and we were trying to keep this a little on the down low. And we both run businesses. It would have happened eventually.

[Nari shrugs with a soft yawn, patting the head of the husky beside him.] He probably already told you my name, but it's Nari Reno. God name is Neptune. And this fluffy girl beside me is Roxy.

He didn't mention shit about you, actually. I saw you two kissing at the reception a while ago.

[ Sorry Izumo, but he's calling it as he sees it. This is what happens when he goes to get more wine- he sees things and has no qualms about announcing it to other people.

At least to the people involved.

He glances down at the husky, opting to bite the tip off the chocolate banana instead of leaning over to pet her or anything. Judar wasn't exactly the type to attract animals in the best of ways. That is to say, he didn't have any proof, but didn't feel like he was much of an animal person. ]

But hey, now that I know who you are, you don't have to feel weird coming over to the temple for sex or anything. I'm the only other one in the main building aside from him.

[ Isn't he.... Generous??? ]

[It's not like they were in a hidden area, so it was bound to come up eventually. How it hasn't happened sooner is beyond the redhead.

Roxy doesn't seem to impressed by Judar either as she yawns and flops over for an impromptu nap.]

... Right... so I take it you're pretty open about things like this. Please don't tell me you have voyeuristic tendencies, because I ain't into that, and don't appreciate it. Doubt Izumo would either.

[Times he's glad his room isn't attached to the main house? Right now was one.]

[ Because apparently Judar is the only one with no hesitation or shame about being that kind of nosy. If meeting someone in his god's life counted as nosy, that is. It only seemed fair with Izumo's interest in what he did. ]

Yeah to being pretty open and definitely no on the watching stuff. Izumo's pretty attractive and you've got an interesting enough look to offer being a third if you two ever get that far and want one, but otherwise I don't really care. Standing offers aren't really about being involved or nosy about that kind of thing.

[ He... May be more open and casual with things than most people are. ]

[ It's not like he's going to be offended or feel left out because some people are more private and personal with their physical relationships. That's just how it is.

Which is probably why he's yawning- Then again, the teen adult looks like he doesn't get much sleep in general. ]

Point is, I'm not really going to be hovering or trying to peek into what you two do. Unless it gets too loud or destructive- then I'd drop by to let you know and go back to what I was doing.

Yeah, you still have two other shinki and a horse to meet. We don't even know how many shinki you have, much less who they are. Then again, maybe you already met them. How am I supposed to know? I'm pretty new compared to most people.

..... I have a total of three shinki, eleven cats, a horse, and my dog. Oh. And a purple goat.... as far as I know Izumo has pretty much met them all. Except maybe the goat. [Why does his family keep getting bigger?]

[ On the plus side of all of this, at least Judar is open and blunt about being a dick, instead of being a manipulative kind. Yet going down that list, his expression slowly goes to match the one Nari had given him.

Why the hell are there so many things at your temple? Not only that, and it's not the purple goat that gets him, it's that there's a horse there as well.

Judar knows where he's not going. Not that he'd ever be welcome in the first place, but even if he were, that seems to be too much to deal with. ]

Yata and Saru...hiko?

[ He held onto the 'Saru' part for obvious reasons- Obvious being that it's the easiest, aside from going 'Shimi', which just makes him hungry, part to turn into a nickname. Aside from Glasses, or Boy Toy-owner. ]

One of them is the idiot with the hat and skateboard with fire powers like Izumo. The other is smarter and has better style and abilities.

Also, taking the goat home would be a way to piss off a certain idol god whom he thinks is funny to make light of. Sorry not sorry Hibiki]

Haven't met either. Should... eventually change that. [Especially since one of them has powers like Izumo. From the blonds world maybe?]

So name wise you way stand out. An Arabic name in a place full of Japanese.

[ The whole 'gods' thing is something he's still getting used to, as that wasn't much of a thing when he was alive, so it's not a concept in his head right now. Just as 'Arabic' and 'Japanese' didn't mean much, as he was from a time of empires. ]

Name wise, sure. Hair is another way if you want to think of a bunch of different reasons why I don't fit in at Izumo's temple.

[ Never mind that Judar has an Arabic name, but is definitely not Middle Eastern, in any kind of appearance. He's not really Japanese, but certainly some kind of Asian. (East Asian, but not that far east, if Nari can tell the differences.) ]
