"Hard-core" Training. [Open-to-all.]
Who: (Future) Trunks and whoever is interested! Open to all.
When: October 22nd.
Where: Open Grounds (and Sky) near Caireen's Temple.
What: An open area and invitation for some harder-training than is usually done during the intro-events.
Bishamon was always kind enough every month to open part of her temple and its grounds for new shinki and gods, and Trunks was grateful for that. But he was also pretty sure he, and a few others he could think of, would appreciate a training session or two that wasn't geared towards most of the new arrivals. (Not that there was anything wrong with new arrivals, or those who weren't as skilled as others. They all had to learn.) Fortunately, he also had an understanding Goddess, who had decent space around her temple-grounds, and who knew he'd take care of clean-up and everything else.
Especially since some of the platforms and structure's they'd used from the game of hide-and-seek were still placed around. Celestia'd been kind enough to help Trunks with forming clouds into various loops and shapes to provide some obstacles there too. Clearly marking the space closest to Caireen's temple as off-limits, just in case as well.
It still left them lots of open ground on the edge of the forest, the beach-area, and the sky. Perfect, as far as he was concerned. Word-of-mouth, mostly making sure to stop by and visit friends he knew would be interested (like Snow and Goten) the date he was planning this, and then just setting things up.
He didn't have animated straw-dummies, but then--most of the people he was expecting were far beyond straw-dummy level.]

Clearly Caster hasn't encountered Goten yet, since the kid is hardly ever on the ground. It's only a little bit longer Caster would be observing, before that figure that is hovering is no longer hovering. Starting a controlled drop, and looking around while they do so, before there is a pause. Then that humanoid shape is waving, before heading towards that highest tree. Hopefully the wave conveyed 'friendly--don't fire or spook'.
Not long though before it resolves into Trunks; with an amused expression on his face. No hint of any animosity though, or any awkwardness or upset from their last conversation. Just amusement.
Remember you noticed he's a battery in terms of energy before, Cu?]no subject
[ On the contrary, he actually did meet Goten, and noticed his amazing flying skills. He gestures at those clouds because the friendly alicorn help is something he is unaware of ]
Is this a new artistic expression you're getting yourself into?
[ Some people paint, others sculpt, and then there is Trunks, sculpting clouds ]
no subject
[Trunks's expression is a bit sheepish.] I didn't know I could though, until a bunch of us were dealing with a flying nightmare ayakashi. Mai got knocked off one of the platforms one of the other shinki made for us in the sky...and I just dove after her...
[Huh, that sounds familiar in some ways.]
Something in me kicked in, like with the chi blasting.
[Speaking off, Trunks sighs, and straightens up somewhat. No more sheepish.] I.... I owe you an apology.
[This is hard, but Trunks is determined, even if uncomfortable.] For the punch, because you are right--I wasn't there. I'm still upset by how many people you worried, including Mai, but I shouldn't have acted the way I did.
[Both because it's right, and because Caster IS a God...although that one had slightly less weight in Trunks' mind. Gods had shinki for reasons, right? not that they couldn't work together...
Then there's a blink, and the rest of what Caster said caught up with him. Artist...huh? OH!]
Oh, and I didn't do the clouds. Celestia did. She's who Mai and I were helping originally when I sort of learned I can fly. We'd talked before about a sky-based obstacle course too.
no subject
Don't sweat it. [ There was an apology along there and he responds to it first. And it is with ensuring that one isn't even needed. ] It's all water over the dam now.
[ He's quick to anger but he's equally quick to forgive. The argument feels like something so long ago it doesn't require any kind of mention. The upset part, he can't help with, only accept it as a consequence. There's no way of undoing what happened and even if there was- he would still choose saving Zelda over everything else. ]
Celestia you say, so she can fly too? [ He haven't met her yet, that he's sure of. Maybe he should start watching the skies more. ]
no subject
I still wanted to let you know, but thank you.
[Really Caster, the answer about Mai is obvious--if she could fly, why would Trunks have dove to save her, without thinking?]
Celestia, is also known as the Goddess Inti. She looks like a white winged horse with a horn on her head, and a multi-colored mane and tail. Except she's not a horse, she's a pony. Apparently on her world, most beings are--she's a Princess there, also in charge of raising the sun. Cloud shaping is something pegasi do, and she can do it as well.
no subject
Ah, also, another princess- and the pegasi mention rings a bell and makes everything fall in place. And so his expression turns into one with curiosity ]
Can't say I've met her- but she sounds like she already was sort of a goddess back in her world. Running the sun sounds like quite a big deal.
no subject
[There is a grin though, and Trunks is amused but understanding with the difficulty Caster is having with the concept at first.]
She sculpted the clouds though, and made a course, for those of us who fly to get some practice in that way. Did you want to see?
no subject
Was there anyone else but that witch? Hard to say, memories area blur- ]
Nevermind, that was a pointless question. [ The answer is "enough to warrant such training grounds" ] So, what is that you wanted to show me? I think I can see them well enough from here.
no subject
[Trunks really didn't know how many there were who flew. But he knew enough, and hopefully Celestia had enjoyed setting it up. Sometimes she seemed a little bored here, to be honest--she'd as outright admitted that being a Sun Goddess here was somewhat easier than her own role back home.]
Nothing in particular really, except I've set up around the grounds. Obstacles, and areas marked for sparring. And the sky-course. I have the safe-zone around the temple marked off too, because while Mai is very supportive--I do not want her home and mine to get damaged, thanks.
[Pointing, and Caster can see the grounds of Caireen's temple easily. Hints of wooden pallets set in various configurations, some near the trees others on the open ground. He wouldn't be able to see the string, but he might be able to make out the hint of red-flags hanging from rope--that bordered the areas and marked what was off-limits. There was a decent variety of terrain, for all it was in limited space; some forest, open ground, some nearer the sand and hint of stone that headed towards the water in the distance and mountains.]
no subject
That makes total sense. [ Caster chuckles, an idea of strongmen or strongflyers suddenly crashing into the temple by accident, or even just taking it as part of obstacle course-- yeah, he can see Mai not wanting that. Would anyone like it at all ever ]
You want to keep it as a permanent part of the landscape, or is it one-time deal? [ From above it's easy to admire all the hardwork done on the training grounds. Caster realizes it- kind of would be a shame for it to be a one time happening ] I think all those kids around could benefit from something being accessible all the time.
[ And not just once every two weeks like Bishamon's temple. ]
no subject
Honestly? This was kind of thought up as a one-time-thing, but you're thinking about the same way I am. Or at least close to it, as Bishamon is kind--helping all of us by opening her temple. But she's also very busy, and having another dedicated space could be good. I wanted this mostly to be for those of us who are well-past the basics, so we could all get together and cut loose a bit more than we do with a mixed group of newbies and experienced fighters.
Mai and I originally had the idea of the obstacle course a month or two back though, with the idea of hide-and-seek mixed with capture the flag, as a kind of training mixed with games.
[Turning to Caster, it's very clear Trunks has put a lot of thought into these ideas, and his pleased.]
It doesn't even have to be here--this is just convenient because I live here.
no subject
[ Caster does show excitement about this idea. It's smart, it is probably needed- he has his own training hall in his temple but it's not really open for just anyone. ]
Maybe make some events for all kind of people. Like races and tournaments
[ It does remind him of festivities the king could on, not just on holidays but as celebrations for important happenings ]
You're onto something good!
no subject
Then again, Trunks is excited and pleased too.]
For now I'm still just...starting small really. But maybe I can see if you, and others, want to help with organizing and stuff, and donation of space, and we can make this a regular thing too.
no subject
First, you'd need to see how many other veterans are interested in it- but I'm all for testing myself. So you can sign me in.
[ Might be not smartest move, since who knows what the actual rules will be. But he can roll with pretty much everything. It would be probably good to figure some sort of limiter on how far they can go. Going easy wouldn't make much sense, but that might mean some accidental death could happen. ]
no subject
[Grinning, inviting even.]
I did make sure to mark off the boundaries, via flags.
no subject
He never made a promise about sparring to anyone, anywhere, so his a matching grin surfaces on his face.
What kind of sparring you have in mind? Weapons? Fists? Endurance run?
[ The possibilities ]
Count me out of flying.
no subject
Maybe you could learn.
[But another day.]
I was thinking we'd keep it hand-to-hand for now? Since I'd have to get a weapon from the dojo, and I want to be on site--as it were, so an endurance run is out. For now.
no subject
He drops the cape and hood, that whole fluttery thing, staying just in that black top of his. It's just to get a better range of movement, not to show off- he's well-built, sure, but that pales in comparison to Trunks' muscles. No matter- ]
Then let's go at it. Even here- [ On top of the tree ]
no subject
Whenever you're ready then.
[Trunks offered with a nod of his head, letting himself shift his posture while he floated. A loose guard, open but wary, watching and alert. Caster could make the first move.]
no subject
Aiming to throw him down from the sky. If they have to fall all the way down, so be it. ]
