"Hard-core" Training. [Open-to-all.]
Who: (Future) Trunks and whoever is interested! Open to all.
When: October 22nd.
Where: Open Grounds (and Sky) near Caireen's Temple.
What: An open area and invitation for some harder-training than is usually done during the intro-events.
Bishamon was always kind enough every month to open part of her temple and its grounds for new shinki and gods, and Trunks was grateful for that. But he was also pretty sure he, and a few others he could think of, would appreciate a training session or two that wasn't geared towards most of the new arrivals. (Not that there was anything wrong with new arrivals, or those who weren't as skilled as others. They all had to learn.) Fortunately, he also had an understanding Goddess, who had decent space around her temple-grounds, and who knew he'd take care of clean-up and everything else.
Especially since some of the platforms and structure's they'd used from the game of hide-and-seek were still placed around. Celestia'd been kind enough to help Trunks with forming clouds into various loops and shapes to provide some obstacles there too. Clearly marking the space closest to Caireen's temple as off-limits, just in case as well.
It still left them lots of open ground on the edge of the forest, the beach-area, and the sky. Perfect, as far as he was concerned. Word-of-mouth, mostly making sure to stop by and visit friends he knew would be interested (like Snow and Goten) the date he was planning this, and then just setting things up.
He didn't have animated straw-dummies, but then--most of the people he was expecting were far beyond straw-dummy level.]

Bringing his own left arm up, fist open to catch her own and deflect that away too.
Time to gauge a little more though, so Trunks let himself pivot again with the movement. Bringing his right leg up in a high kick from the side. Testing--which is why he made it obvious, quick enough to keep her on her toes and with enough force to make her notice, but hopefully not to hurt her if it connected.]

How long have you been training?
[If he were meaner, Trunks would've done more than just turn to stay in that loose defensive stance while facing her. Since he wasn't, she could get to her feet and in a stance again if she wanted, ready to continue.]
no subject
[ She eyes that smile inquisitively. He was testing her..wasn't he? ]
You don't have to hold back that much.. [ Getting up, she gets back into a stance, watching him. ]
no subject
Okay, maybe not that much.
[Even with his focus returning, that smile remained--serious, but perhaps a hint of amused curiosity? Teasing? Anticipation of a challenge? Hard to tell.
It wasn't hard to tell though, when he moved. Mimicking her own charge and striking out with that cross. Fast--practiced, and fast.]
no subject
He comes at her much faster than her own movements, and had she not trained with others with experience like him, that hit would have landed for sure.
Chinatsu manages to to turn her body in time to dodge, grabbing onto his wrist to yank him forward while her other hand pushes his shoulder, bringing her knee up towards his stomach. ]
no subject
Certainly moving enough to throw her off balance. Possibly enough, if she's not expecting it or practiced, to easily throw her over his hip and on the ground.]
no subject
Tsk..! [ Her frustration wasn't aimed at Trunks though, even if she is scowling at him while propping herself up by her elbows. ]
no subject
Better than the straw dummies?
[Okay, that is teasing--but not mocking. Especially since Trunks is offering her a hand up back to her feet too.]
no subject
Maybe.
[ Was that fair? No, but he had more of an advantage over her. She'll take what she can get. ]
no subject
Automatically pivoting while in that crouch, guard up again. That smile is back, definitely amusement and enjoyment of the challenge.]
I could go get them, if you'd rather.
[Okay, the edges of that smile were just a bit more raised, almost a smirk. So far--she wasn't much of a challenge the way Piccolo or Goten was. But he admired her spirit and she had potential.]
no subject
Chinatsu takes her time getting up, dusting off her pants before turning back to him and getting back into her stance. ]
You're more fun to kick. [ She can't help the smirk that forms as she says that. Once again she charges at him, this time throwing multiple punches, one after the other. ]
no subject
[Her punches aren't bad--she's quick to draw her arm back into guard, and isn't telegraphing the movement too much from her shoulders. That charging though--they might have to do something about that headstrong tendency.
Instead of dodging, this time Trunks just blocks her punches. Deflecting lightly with his forearms, guard up and letting her nowhere near his own.]
no subject
Chinatsu puts her focus on her punches--which she's not sure is actually doing anything. It was like punching a wall. A moving wall. A moving wall throwing shade at her.
Fine, he wants a kick? After throwing another punch, she twists to swing her leg at him, aiming for his side. ]
no subject
If she thought punching at him with his blocks was like a wall, she wasn't going to like the next move either. There is more power behind her kick, Trunks shifting and moving to let himself take the hit. But curling his arm under her leg as he does, trapping it so she can't withdraw.]
Good kick though. Glad I'm more fun as a partner. Got a name?
[She's not getting that leg back until she answers him.]
no subject
This only made her not want to say her name even more. Stubbornly, she tries to take a swing at his head. ]
short tag is short, sorry...

Then there was foolish--which was not conducive to actually learning. Which being off balance and swinging wild punches, she was demonstrating rather well. There's an eyeroll, and Trunks doesn't even bother blocking that swing.
Just ducking it, shifting as he does to push her more off balance. Ordinarily it'd topple her--instead her wrist is grabbed, pulled as he moves with the duck. Pulling her up and over his shoulders with her legs on one side, and her arm on the other.]
Okay...I get it. I'm sorry if that was too far.
[His tone is genuine, even though from here she might be able to see his face, if she turned her own head.]
You have skill and potential, and I'm glad you came, but it's also kind of rude that I can't really thank you properly, y'know?
no subject
Now this was embarrassing, and the color spreading on her face showed that quite well. ]
P-put me down..!
no subject
[Because this was a necessary break. Even if he didn't want her actually upset either because of this, than behaving recklessly during a spar.
Oh, and he still had NO IDEA WHAT TO CALL HER.]
Seriously, I don't even know your name yet.
[Said with an exasperated huff.]

There's a pause, just to be sure, before he shifts. Helping her slide down from the hold, against his back, before Trunks is turning to face her. Arms crossed, look expectant.]
Seriously, I'm not your enemy.
[There's another sigh, and a hint of petulance.]
I wasn't trying to make you angry either, so I'm sorry.
no subject
You're my opponent..isn't that the same thing?
[ Not that she felt like she was much of one for him. ]
And don't apologize for beating me. That doesn't make me feel better at all.. [ She grumbles under her breath as she straightens out her clothes. ]
