Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Newly arrived gods are escorted into what looks like an old, large warehouse behind the Meeting Hall for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior. Several chairs have been moved in, but they're squeezed together between packed shelves and boxes of old ritual clothing, scrolls and rusty or chipped household goods. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.
Shinki Training
- Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.
Back copies of the "From Ama" magazine, including puff pieces about new or rising gods or successful shinki, advice columns for resolving problems between gods and shinki, temple photographs and other articles of interest to gods and shinki, have been brought out in boxes and piled up next to a table holding a few remaining copies of the shinki questionnaire for any new shinki who want to keep one around until they can answer the included questions.
- What is your name?
What is your god's name?
How do you see your duties as a shinki?
What is your favorite part of life with your god?
What is your least favorite part of life with your god?
What advice would you like to give your god?
Do you wish to be assigned to a different god? []Y []N
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki. Several magically animated straw-stuffed training dummies, many of which have been carefully mended and patched with neat black stitching, are set up on the lawn with a white-robed shinki hovering nearby to watch over them. They make good training partners, although anyone who comes too close risks being targeted for a sparring match whether they wanted one or not.
The white-robed shinki are still busy cleaning and preparing the Meeting Hall for the big annual meeting of the gods. They'll recruit anyone who looks as though they're not too busy in order to help scrub floors, weed, sweep paths and walkways, and shoo away any unwelcome little spirits that are hiding away in dark corners of the hall. Heavy lifting is good exercise... right?
Rest and Refreshments
- There are casks of fresh, cold water near the dojo to make sure no one gets dehydrated, but for those who've finished working, hot tea and enough seasonal treats are available to make it look as though the Heavens bought out an entire sweet shop. They're being distributed by a few shinki in indigo-blue and plain brown robes with the sleeves tied back, who aren't above teasing the newcomers a bit.
Young shinki are playing in the nicely manicured garden, trying to catch crayfish at the lake edge, dashing around playing tag and hide-and-seek. Just be careful you don't get caught in the middle of a game of "Kagome"! If you do, you'll really be stuck until you guess someone's name.

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Enjoy a traditional tea
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[ Ranulf didn't look very pleased being here. It didn't help his nose was filled with the musty old smell of all these things crammed in the room. He knew beorc liked keeping mementos but one would think they would clean them more regularly.
As Ranulf began to leave with the rest of the 'gods', he still didn't seem to buy it. Did everyone else here believe it? Only one way to find out.
So with a toothy grin and a friendly face, he approaches someone, his tail slowly swaying behind him. ]
Ah, my apologies. But may I have a moment of your time?
Physical Training
Whoa!
[ Ranulf dodges as he hears something coming towards him. It sounded awfully like a sword swinging in the air. He missed it just in time to spot where that came from. He blinked as he saw this..dummy? He had seen beorc use those in their training, but never a moving one.
He raised his hands to make peace. ]
I've no quarrel with you, I don't wish to, h-hey!
[ The dummy was not taking no for an answer as it swiped at Ranulf once more. The laguz blocked it, wincing as it stung his arm. He frowned, he wasn't getting anywhere with this thing. If that was the case...He sighed. ]
I warned you.
[ It wasn't long before the man disappeared and large blue cat appeared in his place. Before the dummy had another chance to strike, the cat leapt at it, kicking it first, then sank his teeth into it's head, tearing it off with a quick rip. After he plopped the head to the ground he changed back, curiously staring at the scarecrow. ]
What a strange contraption...
[ His moment of peace doesn't last long as he hears a shout of anger from behind him. Someone was not happy he destroyed the little dummy. Ranulf could only smile sheepishly to the shinki as he apologized.
The least he can do is weed the garden, right? ]
Rest and Refreshments
From going to defeat a goddess to becoming a god...Is this some kind of punishment? Man this just hasn't been my day.
[ Ranulf sighed from under a tree he picked out, some water and strange looking sweets beside him. He tried to stay away from all the beorc, just being respectful and keeping his distance. Who knew how they would react and being in such a foreign land, he'd rather not take any chances.
He sniffed the air again and slumped. No one smelt familiar or even looked familiar so he was a little down. It was almost strange hearing so much bustling and life around him. Not too long ago he was standing in a world of statues and a select few trying to save their world.
But, enough of that. He was hungry, working up a small appetite from the weed pulling he picked up a box of those sweet that had been offered to him and stared questionably at it, giving it a sniff. ]
Are these really edible?
Wildcard
[ Anything else \o/ ]
Physical Training
What Kieth is pretty sure he's never seen before is someone straight-up turning into a giant blue cat in order to fend off one of the training dummies.]
That was... uh. Probably more force than you needed to use on one of these things.
[Giant blue cat... Incredible.]
no subject
I might have gone just a little overboard, guess I'm used to more difficult opponents these days.
[ He does a small stretch. ]
Oh well, better to end it quickly, it didn't seem to want to stop at any rate.
no subject
[There are definitely going to be times and places where brute force like that is going to come in helpful, but... maybe just not during practice.]
These guys aren't really worth pulling out all the stops on. They're more like... sparring partners that you don't have to be careful with. [Not enemies to tear down without hesitation.]

R&R
[Lancer smiles with a nod as he notices him looking at the box. He's a bit curious about what else is going on with this person, especially with the ears, but he won't ask questions.]
Have you never had sweets before?
no subject
I have, though laguz tend to use fruit for sweetening things. I've tried some beorc sweets before, just none that have looked like this...
[ He peers over at the food once more and decides to just go for it, popping one in his mouth. He chews it for a second before he starts, coughing as he tried his best to finish it. It was a lot sweeter than what he was used to. ]
Or as sweet! Are you sure that was something edible?
no subject
[Oh geeze, he's coughing. Lancer gives him some water to drink, watching him closely as he moves to sit down.]
Yes! I'm certain of it. They are very sweet, but I promise they are edible!

Those things are a pain, huh? One of them attacked me, too, when I got too close.
no subject
They are quite eager to try and get us to train and fight.
[ Hang on...
He pauses as he realizes that...while he was a laguz, he wasn't a wolf was he? Did other worlds have different laguz, or was he across the Death desert like the Hatari clan? ]
I'm sorry, at first I thought you were a wolf laguz, but it seems you are one I haven't seen before. A fox, perhaps?

Rest & Refreshments
Thankfully, the garden near the water was a refuge she'd learned to take shelter in on previous occasions, and as she hums to herself while walking to watch the younglings, she accidentally causes a marigold blossom she's got tucked behind an ear to give off a scent with her powers. It's a little musky, but has a curious sweet scent as well. Mixed with a bit of sweat and dirt and food, it's perhaps a bit familiar.]
no subject
It doesn't take too long at all when he spots the sea-foam hair, and blue armour he knew all too well. He jogs over to her, a large smile on his face. ]
I thought I smelled a familiar face.

Of course, then he turns into a giant blue cat and she gets distracted from all of it to stop and stare with wide eyes until he's shredded the thing. Her mouth has dropped open as the disembodied head of the dummy rolls to a stop at her feet and she leans down to pick it up without thinking, especially since it.... doesn't seem so dangerous anymore.
She ventures a little closer with a fascinated expression, still clutching the dummy's head. ]
Are you.... okay?
no subject
He kneels down, smiling at her, his tail slowly swaying. ]
I'm quite alright, little one. Sorry if I startled you.

He appears to be absent-mindedly practicing some kind of specific motion as Ranulf approaches, but when he's spoken to he rolls over, expression deadpan and apparently not too bothered about the interruption.]
I feel like this is gonna be more than a moment, but if you're a newbie with questions, then fire away.
no subject
I suppose a question regarding if this was real or not I already know the answer to. But, I do wonder if turning into gods is really just that easy? Are there really so many?

[Don't mind Tsuzuki. He's working his way through a whole decorative box of tea snacks on his own over here. There's powdered sugar everywhere.]
The green ones are the best. Oh! And those pink ones with the dark red flecks! Those are good too.
no subject
Hm, is that so? Well I suppose it couldn't hurt to try.
[ He picks up one of the green ones, gives it a sniff before he takes a small bite. He blinks a few times as he chews, trying to get it to stop sticking to his teeth. He manages to swallow it, but he's probably more confused than ever. ]
Well that certainly is...something.

Physical Training
[There's a laugh from off to the side.]
You're going to make the Shinki that have to fix these things purrtty mad at you.
[And when he turns he's going to see Chat standing there, belt-tail twitching to and fro leather ears perked forward as he rests his baton across his shoulders.]
They're just training tools - dummies. They can't hear you or anything like that. They're magic but they're not human or anything remotely like it. I mean sure they pack a punch but - that's a little overkill.
[But the cat-boy's head is tilted and he's watching him with bright cat-like green eyes.]
You've got some kind of innate magic, don't you?
no subject
Still, he smiles in greeting. ]
Cat, actually. Tigers are much larger than I am. Lions even more so.
[ He looks back to the dummy as the other explain]
I'll keep that in mind for next time. And not magic per se, just a regular ability that all laguz have. What of you? That is quite an interesting attire you have.

Oh, yes, what's up?
[ And given another few moments, she notices his ears and tail and her smile brightens. Gosh! ]
Yooou got it!
I suppose to start with, are these truly the Heavens?
[ Oh but first!]
Ah, my apologies! My name is Ranulf, I should have introduce myself first. A pelasure to meet you.
