Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided to the Meeting Hall, where a traditionally styled dojo and training ground have been made available for the day. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Newly arrived gods are escorted into what looks like an old, large warehouse behind the Meeting Hall for an informational meeting covering the basics of proper god behavior. Several chairs have been moved in, but they're squeezed together between packed shelves and boxes of old ritual clothing, scrolls and rusty or chipped household goods. A minor deity is giving the speech, and none of the white-robed shinki enter. They are encouraged to discuss the information with each other and ask questions of more experienced gods, as well as instructed to guide their new shinki appropriately.
Shinki Training
- Various shinki in the white-and-gold of Amaterasu's hosuehold are stationed around the dojo, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. They will be happy to instruct the newcomers in the use of the borderline as well as offering an explanation of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. Shinki are encouraged to work together to practice what they've learned and discuss their perspectives.
Back copies of the "From Ama" magazine, including puff pieces about new or rising gods or successful shinki, advice columns for resolving problems between gods and shinki, temple photographs and other articles of interest to gods and shinki, have been brought out in boxes and piled up next to a table holding a few remaining copies of the shinki questionnaire for any new shinki who want to keep one around until they can answer the included questions.
- What is your name?
What is your god's name?
How do you see your duties as a shinki?
What is your favorite part of life with your god?
What is your least favorite part of life with your god?
What advice would you like to give your god?
Do you wish to be assigned to a different god? []Y []N
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern, to offer some practice opportunity to gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes. It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki. Several magically animated straw-stuffed training dummies, many of which have been carefully mended and patched with neat black stitching, are set up on the lawn with a white-robed shinki hovering nearby to watch over them. They make good training partners, although anyone who comes too close risks being targeted for a sparring match whether they wanted one or not.
The white-robed shinki are still busy cleaning and preparing the Meeting Hall for the big annual meeting of the gods. They'll recruit anyone who looks as though they're not too busy in order to help scrub floors, weed, sweep paths and walkways, and shoo away any unwelcome little spirits that are hiding away in dark corners of the hall. Heavy lifting is good exercise... right?
Rest and Refreshments
- There are casks of fresh, cold water near the dojo to make sure no one gets dehydrated, but for those who've finished working, hot tea and enough seasonal treats are available to make it look as though the Heavens bought out an entire sweet shop. They're being distributed by a few shinki in indigo-blue and plain brown robes with the sleeves tied back, who aren't above teasing the newcomers a bit.
Young shinki are playing in the nicely manicured garden, trying to catch crayfish at the lake edge, dashing around playing tag and hide-and-seek. Just be careful you don't get caught in the middle of a game of "Kagome"! If you do, you'll really be stuck until you guess someone's name.

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Enjoy a traditional tea
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~
cleaning
But he can't simply ignore this. He takes a deep breath, mentally preparing himself before walking up to the alien figure.]
You're Ain, is that correct?
no subject
(Yeah, he's still taller - though only by virtue of the fact that he floats.)
When he speaks, his voice is much lower than Add remembers. ]
I am. [ Pause. ] Who are you?
no subject
And yet... he can almost understand, from that familiar aura of the void. Did this Ain get caught up with the real Henir somehow...? It sounds insane, but it's the only explanation that makes sense. Whether it was really Henir or not, something terrible definitely happened to this Ain, and he's not sure how to feel about it. It's not like this is the real Ain (his Ain), and they were never particularly close anyway, but after having such a close experience with the void's power... he knows what it can do to a person. Even someone like Ain...
... and then he finally realizes Ain said something. Add jolts back to attention from his long internal monologue. He may or may not have been mumbling bits of that out loud.]
Ah— sorry. My name is Add. I'll be your god from now on.
no subject
I see...
[ He inclines his head, patient while Add gets his thoughts together. The shinki's body is perfectly still, the only movement perceptible being that of the aura below him and a slow blink of his only eye.
... he seems to be waiting for something. Orders, perhaps. ]
no subject
Yes. Well. That much is obvious...
I'm sure you must have a lot of questions.
no subject
... who are you, as a god?
[ Some shinki had mentioned double identities, and it sticks in his memory somehow. ]
no subject
Add folds his arms, straightening his posture a little.]
Henir. God of time and space, among other things. [Chaos and darkness more than time and space, really, but Add likes the sound of time and space better.]
1/2
the silence drags out longer this time, a noticeable frown on the visible half of his face - the name doesn't ring in his ears (for they are false imitations), but in the hole where his heart should be.
It's not a matter of reminding himself about his past, no. Something else... ]

no subject
The eye appears before he can worry himself into a panic, though, and instead he just jumps a little at the sudden appearance. It looks... familiar. Very much familiar.
Add stares back at it for awhile, frowning slightly, before holding out his own hand. He has to close his real eyes to concentrate, but another floating black eye appears in the air to mirror Ain's.]
Interesting. [he's not sure what to think of this yet, but] What else can you do, I wonder?
[If he has abilities similar to Henir... that could be useful, but it could also be troublesome. Hopefully he can't like melt people's minds or corrupt them with the void or whatever.]
no subject
The question seems like a prompt to demonstrate his abilities, what comes to him naturally - that he can do. But first, he must set the broom aside.
Ain lets go of the handle, though the broom still stays upright by virtue of the dark tendrils that have now stabilized it from the bottom. A part of the mist below him solidifies into shadow-like hands, peeling off from the main body of darkness to set it gently against the nearby wall.
A blink, and a rather large scythe takes the space in his hand that had previously been occupied by the broom. Will this do? ]
no subject
... but he gets distracted when he notices the broom standing on its own, and his eyes finally wander down to the spooky black mist at the priest's feet. The mist that is, most notably, not a mist and more like ghostly hands right now.
His eyes are a bit wider, but he's not saying anything. It's not like he's freaked out or anything. He's definitely fine with this. 100%. Totally cool with the creepy ghost hands just casually moving things around at Ain's feet—
He jumps a little when Ain summons the scythe, his attention abruptly pulled away from the shadows on the ground. He clears his throat again loudly, staring at Ain straight-on to avoid looking down at all. He also tries to take a subtle step backwards, just in case he might've been close to touching that creepy mist...]
Okay, that's... that's something. [a sickly black scythe that radiates an aura of chaotic energy. Yeah, this is absolutely nothing like the kind of stuff that priest should be using.] A weapon is good. I expect you know how to use it properly.
Have you discovered anything else yet? Such as, perhaps, a spell or two you might be capable of, or other objects you can summon. Anything at all.
[His Ain was pretty good with healing magic and elemental stuff, but he has a feeling that this one might have a... different sort of specialty.]
no subject
None of it matters, not when time itself flows twisted in his perception, and that all will return to the void eventually. They can run, but they cannot hide.
Ain closes his fingers over the scythe handle, and it vanishes in a shower of black sparks. Instead of summoning more projections, he appears to take a deep breath - it's a facismile of one, after all, since he doesn't have lungs anymore.
Eyes appear around and behind him, popping into existence in clusters of twos and threes, clouding the area with barely restrained miasma. Ain has been told to not release them, so they merely hang in the air like grotesque bubbles.
Their number will go up to the hundreds if he's not told to stop... ]
no subject
They radiate even more energy than the other projections, so maybe that's the difference. It's a little unsettling at first. The miasma isn't nearly as powerful as the Henir core's true power, but it's still similar enough to remind him of that place. He folds his arms as he watches the eyes surrounding them, his dynamos drawing closer to his body in a protective motion.
... except the eyes don't stop appearing. After around 20 or so he realizes Ain doesn't plan to stop—the chaotic energy feels nauseating at this range, and he's sure other gods and shinki must be starting to take notice. He quickly turns back to face Ain, a hint of alarm creeping into his voice as he shouts angrily.]
Stop that, what are you doing? Get rid of those things now!
no subject
The eyes shatter all at once, raining shards of glass-like darkness on the floor in a tinkling shower. They dissipate into mist moments after impact, joining the shadow pooling at his feet. The pressure on Add's surroundings vanishes all at once.
Ain regards him with a tilt of his head, the gesture hopefully sufficient to convey the (very slight) confusion that resulted. ]
no subject
They look away and scatter when Add glares at them, a few sparks flying off his machines.
Ain has a lot more power than Add expected. Something like that... could be extremely dangerous. If used incorrectly, it could easily lead to another disaster. Ain's corruption could spread. There's no telling what else could happen.
Add is quiet for a time, still staring off into the distant crowds, but when he speaks again his voice is much softer.]
Don't do something like that again. You're going to get us both in trouble if you use your powers recklessly. Spreading chaos like that... some people might interpret it as an attack.
We can test your abilities another time. Somewhere more private. [Like the temple. Ain's powers certainly wouldn't be out of place in there.]
no subject
... what do I do now?
[ The instruction is noted, another layer of restraint applied. Using his abilities didn't hurt him, nor did it lend him any measure of comfort - a neutral opinion, just like everything else.
Are they leaving? If so, he should return the broom, at least... ]
no subject
For now, you can stay out of trouble. Try not to attract too much unnecessary attention to yourself. [so no more summoning hordes of eyes] There's someone else I need to find before we return to the temple.
[... Ah. There's no guarantee, but it's worth asking him.] Have you seen a shinki in a hooded black cloak around?
no subject
... ten minutes ago, someone went to the east.
[ He had noticed that person, because they walked past him without running away. ]
no subject
After all this time, he'll finally be able to see Roxas again...]
... Good. Thanks. [he means it, really, even if he's already looking troubled again.] Stay out of trouble, alright? I'll find you again when we're all ready to leave.
[And if he summons an eye or two to check up on him every now and then... well, he doesn't think this Ain will mind. For now he only lingers briefly before turning to the east, heading towards the direction Ain gave him.]
no subject
Okay.
[ Probably time to go back to sweeping, while Add goes about his business. Everything is fine. ]
