What: It just seemed like a 'regular' day...

Sorry for asking you to keep watch again.

[ There wasn't much fighting or a lack of people to watch Yona ever since she fell asleep. Sometimes it had even been the both of them, but Yoon became someone he trusted and depended on to take care of Yona, whether she continued to sleep or would suddenly wake up. After all, he normally was the one to watch over her while Shizuo handled the bar, what with Izumo out on his trip.

There were no bar things to handle this time- His outfit was more than casual enough to show that he was heading out on other reasons. ]

More accurately, asking you to handle it on your own kinda last minute. With everything else, it kept slipping my head.

[ Not that one covering for the other was hard, seeing as they both had rooms at the temple. ]

[ Yoon stands before Shizuo for the first time in a long time feeling very small, as if there were two ways of protecting Yona - a dominating stone guardian preventing intruders at the gate versus a tattletale bird watching from the shadows - and he's always been the backup. When he left for several hours to go to the usual Training session, it wasn't a risk to Yona, in his mind. Shizuo was still there watching over her. Flipping that, with the stone guardian leaving the bird as the sole protector, that's what makes him feel so small just now. ]

It's not that mind watching over Yona.

[ That's like... not even at the bottom of the list of things he considers wastes of his time, it's not even on the list in the first place. He'd gladly do it, based on his impressions from his past life and a need to pay her back in kind. She's also never been cruel to him, which he latched onto without realizing it because of how starved he'd previously been for the same. ]

I just don't understand what's so important you have to leave now, while she's still asleep - if you became a nora and just haven't mentioned it, I won't be angry...

[ He'd be a hypocrite if so. No, he just hates being in the dark about where Shizuo's taking off to for so long that he felt the need to make sure Yoon's schedule was free. ]

I didn't become a nora.

[ Which wasn't a thing against noras- He felt there were times when it was necessary, and even when it wasn't, it was something for the people involved and who it'd affect. Yoon was one sign of that, and Izumo had been when Yona had named him a while back.

He'd go nora himself if there was a need, even. That hadn't happened. ]

A friend asked me to join him and his shinki out to a museum. I'm pretty sure he doesn't want it to seem like a date with his shinki, and I'm pretty good at ruining that kind of 'vibe.'

[ At least that's his assessment from personal history. ]

Besides... Yona would be just as upset if I ignored everything outside of her and the bar, however. So I can say I at least did this when she wakes up and wants to know what happened. You know that guilty but disappointed look she'd give if I said all I did was watch her or take care of the Double Cross.

[ So he was trusting someone he felt was more than capable of knowing what to do. You didn't have to be a stone guardian. ]

I can ignore her guilty looks when I know it's for her own good.

[Or so he believed.]

And plenty of gods were seen at that party recently, bringing their shinki in like they were couples. I don't get what the big deal is at all!

[He's just scared. He doesn't want to be the only one here when another god leaves him.]

Anyway, who is this friend you're going with so I can call them too if I can't reach you?

[Here Yoon is thinking of something being wrong with Yona herself, or some other attack on the Far Shore that gets too close to her temple.]

Sure you could.

[ And at first, Shizuo is sure that Yoon would definitely have no trouble! It's when that look lingers. ]

It's not our place to decide what's a big deal to them or not. I was asked to join and I agreed back then, so I'm going to keep to that. His name's Cú Chulainn- Go ahead and call him Caster if you want, but both work.

[ Making a show of taking his phone out of his pocket and putting it back in, that seemed to be his attempt at making it clear he could be contacted as well. Shizuo wasn't sure about what Yoon did and didn't like, but he didn't strike the blond as the type that took to physical affection very well. So he wasn't about to ruffle the kid's hair or anything. ]

My phone will probably be on silent for some areas, so it might take a little bit before I get to any messages. I have Yona's phone to go through and make some kind of sound no matter what, though, so make sure she unlocks it and have something sent to me so I know she's awake. I'll come right back.

Oh, I know him.

[Had met him in person, and recognized the name as one of the gods who died.]

He came to Yona's summer get-together, and after that he... wasn't around for awhile, right?

[So Yoon unfortunately has very little faith in the man.]

I'll listen for Yona's phone though.

Yeah, that's him. He's also been helping Yona understand the pantheon that she's a part of. You don't have to dance around with saying he wasn't around for a while, though. It's fine to say that he'd gotten killed.

[ It's a fact that Caster has to deal with- just as the others do. He had even spoken to Hakkai about his own cleanup from the death he had to deal with. ]

If things seem like they'll take longer than I planned, I'll let you know. Ah- Anything you want picked up while I'm out?

[ May as well kill two birds with one stone. ]

[Yoon crosses his arms.]

Got killed, but then what? I didn't know how long he stayed dead, or what happened to him after that.

[Izumo came back a god. So did Hak. Who was to say this guy didn't die and come back a shinki? Yoon didn't know enough people to know if that had happened before or not.]

Anything I need, well - that depends on where you're going, doesn't it? If it's someplace that sells food, you won't exactly find a new pair of sandals, will you?

[He says with all the air of someone really frustrated by specialty buildings instead of a simple open-air market where at least you could find everything, at least to him.]

He was gone for a while, then picked things back up. I've got no clue what else he had to deal with, aside from some upset shinki and the same thing that happened to other gods having been killed.

[ Oh... Yoon is being that Particular Way after a general offer. Is it all because he's nervous about being left alone to watch their goddess? Shizuo couldn't read minds, but that was a growing guess as things continued. ]

The museum's in a city. So it doesn't matter what you need- I know how to find those kinds of things. If you want sandals, then it just means going to a shoe store.

I was... kind of thinking about making my own, actually. I didn't think you'd be able to find a woven pair instead of those plastic things.

[He'd finally learned the word 'plastic' as something akin to a mild curse, because of the unnatural nature of it, such as wearing plastic shoes - it felt weird, so he'd stopped wearing those. They got cold easily nowadays anyway.

So mostly, he's just stunned that Shizuo thinks he could find something Yoon likes when Yoon had resigned himself to making something instead.]

What about..........

[He has to remember the word now, but by then he looks kind of curiously excited. Like surely Shizuo could find this.]

Ice cream? Or a... what as it, a milkshake?

There are more choices than woven or plastic. You're probably going to want to consider something that covers your feet more for the coming winter, like boots. We'll save that for when Yona's awake though.

[ Because there's no question that she will wake up. It's just a matter of time. His expression picks up a bit at that request.

A milkshake does sound pretty good... ]

Yeah, I can get you that. Any particular flavor, or do you just want something simple?

Strawberry!

[He says it instantly because he's just that excited.]

I saw it on one of the containers and I've never had strawberry before!

[That should be a strawberry but he doesn't realize the flavor comes independent of the milkshake in the form of a fruit. They don't have those back home. Plus, fruit perishes quickly.]

[ Well, who's to deny him with that kind of enthusiasm? ]

Strawberry it is. I'll let you know when I'm heading back with it. Just make sure the notification sound for texts is loud enough for you to catch it.

[ That way Yoon doesn't have to wait and keep wondering whether or not Shizuo was on the way home. ]
