Wanderings [Open]
Who: Felix and You!
When: October 27th
Where:Anywhere cat-free Far Shore in the morning, Near Shore in the afternoon.
What: Since an invitation to look at cats isn’t high on his list, Felix is going to use the day to get a feel for the area.
A. Western District; early morning
[Even as the sun is rising, Felix is jogging through the Western district, coat tied around his waist. He’s making a point of looking around at all of the different places that exist around him, but he never lets up on his pace.
Jogging along behind him is a soulless shinki, their feet hitting the ground out of rhythm as they move through the district. Periodically, Felix will take a sharp turn, never speeding up, even if he is testing the agility of the figure behind him. She keeps up effortlessly, of course.
The longer they spend jogging, the more focused he becomes, taking turns, doubling back, really seeing what his shadow is capable of. If he wasn’t so consistent with his speed, even checking himself once or twice so she stays with him, someone might even think he was trying to lose the poor woman…]
B. Central District and The Heavens; mid-morning and early afternoon
[Having successfully given his shinki the slip, for better or worse, Felix has made his way into fancier parts, though his coat is still tied around his waist and he looks a little grungy for the area. Unlike his calculating (if meandering) path from earlier, he’s now wandering around looking for the sake of looking, because some of these places are amazing.
It takes a few hours, but he eventually finds his way back to the meeting hall, though he is wary of spending too much time there, given the dangers of being press ganged into cleaning by the white-robed shinki that practically swarm the area (or so he claims to anyone who asks).
Before he heads home in the afternoon, Felix will lose himself for a little bit in the Sakura grove to the North of the meeting hall. While he does spend a bit of time appreciating the beauty, he spends more time practicing teleporting himself between the trees.]
C. The Near Shore - Tokyo; late afternoon and early evening
[It’s not dark, yet, but the day is winding down. Even if people aren’t supposed to be able to see him easily, Felix has no intention on taking the chance that he missed something important to make that happen. As crowds increase on the streets, with everyone getting out of work and heading either home or out to socialize, he’s feeling a little more comfortable slipping away into the mortal world.
Alone.
It’s not exactly that he hasn’t been told about the dangers, and not even that he thinks he’s going to be able to handle it better than anyone else has. But he doesn’t like being told not to do something, and besides, if this was what he was meant to be doing, putting it off isn’t going to make it better.
Besides, he’s never, ever been to Japan before, and after the all the stories he’s heard from his family back home, he’s not about to pass up a chance to see it for himself.]

B! >.>
Although if someone is practicing teleporting and vanishing and reappearing in her vicinity, she would stop to see what's going on, peering around a tree trunk to see who else is here today.]

For a moment, he stands still, then looks around and drops to the his knees, searching the ground. He holds up a stick and starts laughing.]
Hahaha! You moved! I moved!
no subject
Realizing she'd made a noise, she finally steps out with a shy smile, clapping her hands softly. ]
You did it! Are you practicing?
no subject
Hey. It worked again! Heh.
[He stands up, and crosses his arms, hunching his shoulders, and speaking a little louder than he really needs to for the distance between them.]
I'm kind of new at this.
no subject
Are you okay? Are you hurt? I didn't mean to surprise you.
But yay! You did do it again. You went pretty far that time, too! It took me a while to figure out how to do it, too. I had to practice lots.
no subject
[He lets his arms fall to his sides and shrugs a little.]
I worked on it most of last night. After everything people said, I thought it was probably important. But it's not as easy as everyone made it sound.
It's easier when I can do it without thinking too hard, but it's hard to not think about it.
[He shifts his weight from one foot to the other and back, and then smiles a little.]
Um. Hi. I'm Lucky. Does that mean you're a God, too?
no subject
And yeah! I'm Nanako! I'm here as the goddess Nanshe. What about you? I like your name. Lucky sounds really cool.
no subject
Yeah. I think they cheat, probably. But I don't know how. Maybe they got a book or something.
[He glances over at the baby deer, and though he doesn't look afraid, he does look uncomfortable, for a moment. Then he looks back at her, the smile in place again.]
I'm supposed to be Set, I think. He's from Egypt, I think?
Nanako. That's a pretty name. I like it, too!
no subject
I know a couple of gods from Egypt, but I don't think I know much about Set. What does he do?
Nanashe is from somewhere called Sumerian, but it's not really there anymore? It was a really old kingdom, I guess, and she did a lot of things there. But she still gets prayers from people who lived where her country used to be. She looks after people who got lost or need a place to stay, or who got hurt in wars and things. I think there were a lot of those back then.

[History was never his strongest subject, and not something he'd been made to study in depth, either. At least, anything that wasn't military history. And even if he did know more, he's not ready to accept any kind of responsibility for someone else's past. He has plenty for his own. He steps back and leans against a tree.]
Have you been here very long?
no subject
Kill Osiris? [ She might have squeaked a little at that. ] Isn't that... another god? Whoa...
[ At least his question is a welcomed distraction from that troubling thought. ] Uhhh, yeah, sorta? [ She squints, trying to count back. ] It feels like a long time. It was May when I got here! But there are lots of gods and shinki who have been here longer than me, too.
no subject
I think he was kind of a bad guy. I'm not really sure. Maybe he was a good guy, too, so he's kind of both?
[Which would make sense, considering.]
I figure that already happened, though, so I don't have to do it again. I hope. It's...October, right? So half a year, maybe, at least, for some people.
I really hope nobody blows things up because I'm missing. I'd feel really bad.
[He sounds serious, but not overly concerned. Still, kind of an odd thing to say.]
no subject
[ It is an odd thing to say and she blinks for a moment, surprised. ] Blows things up?
