Wanderings [Open]
Who: Felix and You!
When: October 27th
Where:Anywhere cat-free Far Shore in the morning, Near Shore in the afternoon.
What: Since an invitation to look at cats isn’t high on his list, Felix is going to use the day to get a feel for the area.
A. Western District; early morning
[Even as the sun is rising, Felix is jogging through the Western district, coat tied around his waist. He’s making a point of looking around at all of the different places that exist around him, but he never lets up on his pace.
Jogging along behind him is a soulless shinki, their feet hitting the ground out of rhythm as they move through the district. Periodically, Felix will take a sharp turn, never speeding up, even if he is testing the agility of the figure behind him. She keeps up effortlessly, of course.
The longer they spend jogging, the more focused he becomes, taking turns, doubling back, really seeing what his shadow is capable of. If he wasn’t so consistent with his speed, even checking himself once or twice so she stays with him, someone might even think he was trying to lose the poor woman…]
B. Central District and The Heavens; mid-morning and early afternoon
[Having successfully given his shinki the slip, for better or worse, Felix has made his way into fancier parts, though his coat is still tied around his waist and he looks a little grungy for the area. Unlike his calculating (if meandering) path from earlier, he’s now wandering around looking for the sake of looking, because some of these places are amazing.
It takes a few hours, but he eventually finds his way back to the meeting hall, though he is wary of spending too much time there, given the dangers of being press ganged into cleaning by the white-robed shinki that practically swarm the area (or so he claims to anyone who asks).
Before he heads home in the afternoon, Felix will lose himself for a little bit in the Sakura grove to the North of the meeting hall. While he does spend a bit of time appreciating the beauty, he spends more time practicing teleporting himself between the trees.]
C. The Near Shore - Tokyo; late afternoon and early evening
[It’s not dark, yet, but the day is winding down. Even if people aren’t supposed to be able to see him easily, Felix has no intention on taking the chance that he missed something important to make that happen. As crowds increase on the streets, with everyone getting out of work and heading either home or out to socialize, he’s feeling a little more comfortable slipping away into the mortal world.
Alone.
It’s not exactly that he hasn’t been told about the dangers, and not even that he thinks he’s going to be able to handle it better than anyone else has. But he doesn’t like being told not to do something, and besides, if this was what he was meant to be doing, putting it off isn’t going to make it better.
Besides, he’s never, ever been to Japan before, and after the all the stories he’s heard from his family back home, he’s not about to pass up a chance to see it for himself.]

[ So the kid was on the run. And it was bad enough that he was ready to fight and kill for his freedom. ]
Hey, nice to meet you. Just call me Caster.
[ Caster gives the offered hand a good shake and then gestures at the other one. ] Think you can show me that? I might be able to help.
[ The good sides of having too much chill is that it makes being all friendly in weird situation not forced. ]

It's not bad, and I heal quick. Don't even feel it.
[Of course, that was because he turned the pain receptors off the moment he felt the skin start to tear; better not to be distracted by little things in a fight. Now...he lets the pain hit him, and winces slightly. It's not bad, just sudden.]
Um. Hi. It's nice to meet you, Caster.
[There's a moment of pause, and then he shakes his head. Rude, maybe, but so much easier than trying to tiptoe around the question.]
God or Not?

But most kids don't act like a skilled fighter at the slight possibility of a threat. ]
Can always make it heal quicker if you want [ He says, as he starts drawing the rune in the air over the hand ]
no subject
Why?
[He would accept the statement at face value, for the moment, but the reasoning wasn't even remotely clear. There was no reason to put out effort for something so small, and he couldn't imagine why Caster would bother over him.]

[ The moment of hesitation isn't lost on him. But Caster is also not one to pry on the first meeting. There is an honest confuzzlement at that question in his voice. On the other hand, he might not look like someone trustworthy himself. ]
It's a simple healing spell. Scrapes like this are gone instantly.
[ Favors from strangers can come with a hidden price, there is also that to consider. Perhaps that's what the kid is worried about. He's not going to force that spell, so it stays unfinished in the air- until either the kid agrees, or it gets dispelled and unused. ]

After a couple of breaths, studying the man's face, he nods, twice. He's not convinced that there's nothing else going on, but it would be nice not to ties up his tech on something so small.]
Show me. Please.
no subject
There, and done.
[ He turns to the soulless shinki curiously, the first time he met one really ]
Hey uh, you can continue your morning run.
no subject
It doesn't hurt. It really feels better. How'd you do that?
[The woman has stood back, keeping a respectful distance from the pair of Gods, but she doesn't seem inclined to leave. Felix glances back at her.]
Uh, she's been running with me today. I told her I wasn't armed, and I don't know anything about fighting spirits or whatever. So she said she's been commanded to support me. So here she is.
[She gives Caster a single, terse nod. Felix looks back down at his hand. With his reaction time, it's unclear exactly how much he really needs a babysitter, but it seems that's what the woman is there for.]
Can you teach me how to do this?
no subject
Rune magic, my teacher from land- ah far away from here taught me that.
[ The display of curiosity and willingness to learn surprises him. He's taken aback even, eyebrows raised and his head tilting to the side. ]
Ooh, you'd want to learn that? You a mage, kiddo?
