What: Making new (old) friends, hanging out, touching some eldritch holes, crying, the usual.
Warnings: Obligatory nihilism/suicidal ideation warning for Ain, will update if needed.

Henir's temple hasn't been left unscathed by the void incident, though the external damage could certainly be a lot worse. The short stone tower looks a bit more worn than it used to, and patches of glowing blue lines trace over parts of the walls and patio seemingly at random. Some of the benches and other decorations have been smashed to pieces—most likely by ayakashi—and pushed off into a corner rather than being replaced. It doesn't seem that important, and Add simply hasn't had the time to do it.

The only other change outside is the field of white flowers that sprung up behind the tower one day. Thousands of white petals are scattered all around the surrounding area, and even the slightest breeze seems to send more flying from the field. Although, strangely, the flowers never seem to lose their petals for long...

The inside of the temple is another story, though the maze of illusions might make it difficult to travel too far without an invitation. The inner space of Henir's temple feels more empty than before, and the blue core in the distance seems dimmer. Subdued. Even the illusions feel a little less real, a little easier to navigate. Are you bold enough to venture inside?

[ Because telepathy seems much faster than this.]

I dunno. You don't want to give it a name, and we can't figure out if the cat has a name. So, it only seems like leaving it nameless is the only solution.

[ as long as it doesn't, then it's fine with him. ]

I guess it doesn't matter either way. As long as the little guy is happy.

[Rin reaches out to pet the feline. He then turns his attention back to Ain. Since the issue over the cat's name is resolved, he wants to use this time to get to know Ain more.]

So...I wanna know how you do it? How you can just pop up any place you want?

[Although pop isn't exactly the word he wants to use.]

[ there's another pause before he replies, as if he takes three whole seconds to hear rin's words. he straightens up, looking down at his feet - or rather, the shadows that served as feet. ]

You mean.... like that?

[ ain looks up again, regarding rin with an empty gaze ]

I am shadow given form.... I return to shadow and move.

Shadow given form?

[Rin repeats as if the words will resonate more. He gets it, but at the same he doesn't really understand.Seeing it is one thing, but his mind can't quite process it.]

So being a shadow allows you to move like you do, even appear and disappear all you want? That's pretty cool, but I'm still confused by the how it works.

[ to that, ain shrugs a little, the motion reflected in his noodle arms ]

I don't know...

[ it just is how it is. ]

[So it's something like that.]

Is that all you can do? Or maybe that's a mystery too?

[Being a shinki you're left in dark about a lot things. Rin didn't know he could cook until he attempted it, and it came to him like second nature. Maybe it's like that.]

[abgrund]

[ tilts his head, so that his hair falls to one side ]

I can.... [ hmm. ] ..... fly?

[ he doesn't know. ]

Really?! Let me see! I wanna see!

[ For real,man! You've got to do it! Rin's practically jumping up and down in excitement!

Sadly, he doesn't notice Ain's unsure tone.]

[ .... he wants to see?

that's not really a reception he expects. to have someone so enthusiastic is....

.... is kind of nice? but also, it makes him unsure. ]

Now?

[hellskitchen]

Well yeah! Unless I'm puttin' you on the spot.

[ Rin didn't really see the harm, unless Ain was uncomfortable with it. Then he hopes the other shinki tells him to back off.]

If yer nervous,it's cool,y'know.

[abgrund]

It's okay.

[ he doesn't mind. it's just unexpected. ]

Outside...

[ he heads out of the kitchen, waiting for rin to follow. it's easy to leave the temple when he's the one doing it, apparently - the illusion maze never appears, and one could almost believe that the temple didn't have any strange space-warping properties at all.

once they're outside, he would gently set the cat down from his hair, and it goes to sit next to rin's feet. ain doesn't move for a few seconds, then dark shadows erupt from his back and extend outwards reminiscent of wings. he floats up by a few feet, looking curiously at rin below. ]

[ Well Rin's not sure what to expect when Ain tells him to go outside. He watches the other leave the kitchen, before he starts following himself.He realizes they're leaving not only the manor itself, but their living space and into the labyrinth of illusions. Except no illusions manifests, Rin finds that odd. Although, he doesn't directly link it to Ain's presence. Rin's not always so lucky to find a clear path through the maze to their abode. So it's pretty convenient.

Once they reach outside of the temple, he sees that Ain is setting the cat down. He pauses, and soon after black shadows emerges from the shinki's back. The shadows stretch out into wings, and Ain is able to float off the ground. A few feet, even. Rin's pretty amazed, looking up at Ain in awe.]

Woah! You really can fly! How far can you go? Can you fast can you go?

[Rin just keeps bombarding Ain with questions, until he tells him to politely knock it off. Still he's genuinely enthralled by Ain's ability.]

What else can you do?

[abgrund]

[ it is a lot of questions. they come a little too fast for him to register all of them, so he only hears some. he flutters downward a little, the tendrils of his clothing (?) trailing out behind him, regarding rin with a slight curious look. ]

Not too fast....

[ there's wind resistance to be factored in, as well as the fact that he's just tired. ]

What kind of... what else?

Oh, my bad.

[ Rin covers his mouth as Ain tells him he's going to fast. Though he cant help himself. This is all really cool and exciting.]

Like what other abilities do you have? Those shadows seem to be able to do just about anything!

[abgrund]

[ that question is easier to parse than what seems like a catchall, so he nods to let Rin know that he's heard that question. ]

I guess.... I can change shape to whatever is needed....

[ so yes, probably a lot of things. ]

I can't heal people though.

Change into whatever shape? That's pretty incredible. Sounds like you can do just about anything you want.

[Healing people is the exception, however, not a lot of people could do that.]

I can't heal people either, so don't feel too bad. Though you can still do a lot of things, so that's something you should be proud of. And as long as you use your abilities to help people, people will be really impressed with you too.

[ This is not the first time he's been told the importance of helping people. He agrees with it without knowing why ]

Is it good to be an impressive person?

[ That sounds like it'll attract a lot of attention... ]

[ Well it's true impressive people tend to garner a lot of attention, but it's the good kind.]

Yeah, you're considered a reliable person. Someone people can count on and trust. It's a very good thing. I think everyone should try really hard to be like that.

[Although, Rin really optimistic. There are cons about being a dependable person, but Rin's not going to express those at the moment. Though, he feels as if he's getting ahead of himself.]

Ain, do you know what kind of person you want to be?

[abgrund]

[ There's a longer pause as he thinks about the question, compares it to what he's heard from others. ]

I don't. [ Though, he shakes his head quickly to correct himself ] No, I didn't. But, I think I have an idea now. Being reliable doesn't sound bad.

[hellskitchen]

That's good. I mean, finding out who you want to be takes time. Though at least you have an idea! That's something better than nothing.

[Especially with the absence of their memories, it makes it a little harder to figure out who you are. Though if you have an open enough mind, then you really can be anything. Hence why it's important to figure out what you want to be.]

I want to be someone strong enough to protect my friends. I don't have a lot of friends, but I hope they know that I have their back.

[abgrund]

[ Just for the briefest of moments, he thinks that this isn't something all that odd... and then that feeling is gone, like a fleeting dream. ]

That sounds nice.

[ He means it, despite the flatness of his tone. ]

[ Even with the flatness, Rin believes that Ain agrees. Yes, it is a good ambition. He even thought of it all on his own!]

That includes you too! I have your back! So feel free to come to me for anything, okay?

[Although, Rin's not sure he can help such a capable guy, but his door is always open.]

[abgrund]

[ He's silent as he thinks, though it only lasts about half a minute before that silence crossfades into a nod. ]

Okay. [ And then: ] You too.

[ Helping's mutual, he means. ]

Of course! You're a useful guy. I might bother you a lot. Just warnin' you.

[Seriously!

Ain seems like the type who wouldn't mind. The type to go with the flow. At least that's Rin's sunny perception anyway.]

Anyway, we should get back inside. Imma 'bout to make dinner, and it's gonna be really good. Have you ever had sukiyaki before?
