We can rebuild her.
Who: Berserker of Black, Soleil, Cardia Beckford, and potentially others
When: Backdated to Oct 21
Where: Freyr's temple
What: Following this post and this phone call, Soleil invites some helpers over to reassemble her shinki
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...
[Berserker is in a pretty bad way right now. She's lying on Soleil's bed in Freyr's temple, one arm nearly severed at the elbow and held on with sparking wires, and with several deep gashes in other parts of her body that seem to be slowly leaking a black viscous fluid that resembles oil or ichor more than blood. In addition to bone and sinew, there are tubes and gears - a sort of steampunk cyborg, and one that's doing worse by the minute. She needs some help, and fast. Fortunately, that help is on the way.]

But she can at least take a look. She arrives at Freyr's temple and cautiously knocks on the door and offers a polite smile to whoever answers.]
I'm Cardia, we spoke on the phone. May I come in?
no subject
Of course, of course. Thank you for treating us with some of your time, miss Cardia. This way, if you will.

[She follows her fellow goddess through the temple. Victor taught her enough about medicine that she can at least patch up wounds. And Impey taught her a lot about tech. Unfortunately steam tech is a little outdated these days, so she's less confident in that regard.
Little does she know...]Where is the patient?
no subject
[Just follow the echoing moans, Cardia.]
no subject
Just through here, you can follow my lead.
[To the master bedroom it is, where she steps into place right next to the bed, putting her hand gently on Berserker's head as a means of comfort for her shinki.]
I'm still not sure, exactly, what happened to her, but like I said, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
no subject
This is... awful.
[But... on closer inspection, the technology is more familiar than she had expected. Maybe she can help. She takes a steadying breath, then looks at Soleil with her eyes and tone all business.]
We need to patch up the internal damage, but first we need to find out what's wrong with her power source. See those little arcs of electricity?
[She points at one as it flares up.]
That's going to cause problems if we can't fix it. Do you have any tools?
no subject
Ahhhhh...!
no subject
I should have some basic things laying around. [If nothing else, there's a toolbox stashed away for any minor repairs the temple might need.] If it turns out to be not enough, I'll gladly run out pick up anything else that's needed.
Is there anything else I can do for now?
no subject
[Cardia is very sharp eyed, and notices the sparks on the mace.]
But first, can you tell me anything about that mace? It seems to be reacting to the power surges.
no subject
no subject
[Other than the easy guess of it being significant, somehow, given that particular reaction from Berserker.]
no subject
Do you mind if I examine it? It may have something to do with the electrical problem.

I'm not sure if she'd like that very much. [To, uh, put it lightly. It does sound like Cardia has at least some idea of what she's talking about, so while Soleil doesn't find it to be a bad idea, it's hard to take Berserker's reaction as anything but bad.]
At the very least, let me get what tools I do have about - if we do end up needing to take a look at the mace, I think it would be best done with me here. Sound fair?
no subject
It seems like that would be for the best.
[Although now she's sure the mace must be an integral part of her construction. But how?]
I'll wait here then.
no subject
[Berserker seems quietly distressed at the prospect of Soleil leaving, but at least the new girl isn't trying to mess with the mace anymore. She stays put for the time being, but she's very carefully keeping an eye on Cardia.]
no subject
[Wouldn't want to keep company waiting, and definitely not going to waste any time with her shinki's well-being at stake either. And, sure enough, Soleil's only gone for a short amount of time before returning, bringing with her one fairly standard looking toolbox and... some rolled up paper, a helpful piece of information she had almost completely forgotten about.]
You know, these turned up a while back, but I didn't really think anything of them at the time. [The box is set on a bedside table, while the blueprints are passed off to Cardia.] They're... probably pretty relevant now, I'd hope.
no subject
Is this... blueprints? For her...
[Very relevant. With these, Cardia can tell how she was put together and what will need to be fixed. This changed everything from 'maybe I can do something' to 'this is fixable.' She smiles.]
This is going to help a lot. We should be able to help her make a full... recovery....
[She trails off as one thing on the blueprints catches her eye. A name, scrawled in one corner. A name she knows very well.]
It can't be..... Victor?
no subject
[Berserker perks up a little at the name, turning her head and blinking. She can't quite see what's on the paper they're looking at, but she's definitely curious about who this 'Victor' is and why Cardia's reacting that way.]
no subject
[Still, it's good that she didn't just toss them out, instead tucking them away for... just in case, probably. Which definitely worked out in everyone's favor it seems, and as Cardia's confidence in the situation lifts, Soleil's relief only grows.
As for the name,] Someone you know? [Someone she's never heard of, that's for sure.]
no subject
[Which doesn't explain why he would be involved in something like this. It seemed a bit unlike Victor. Then again, he always did get a little absorbed in his work and sometimes took things awfully far.
Well... it doesn't matter now. Now they have a job to do. She studies the blueprints closely.]
Alright, it looks like the mace is integral. It seems like that might actually function as her power source. But it doesn't look damaged. So it must the receiver that's the problem.....
[By the end she's talking more to herself and already looking over at the tools. It's time to get started.]
no subject
[Berserker just hums thoughtfully at Cardia's reaction, but it's not long before another surge of electricity has her screaming in pain.]
Nnnnnggghhh... ahhhhhhhh!
[Better hurry, you two.]
no subject
We'll get you fixed up as fast as we can, all right? [Her tone is as soothing as possible, and she gently puts a hand to Berserker's cheek to facilitate the use of her god power, hoping to help keep her shinki's energy up.] Hang in there a little longer.
