open!
Who: Sorey, and your character!
When: November 21st
Where: Various places.
What: After the events that happened, Sorey will be training to grow stronger. Though, he gets a little carried away one of his hobbies when he rests...
a) Library
[ If there's one place Sorey tends to go on his free time, it's the library. Though when he goes to the library – it's not for a few hours, but usually for the day. After all, to Sorey – it's rather easy to get lost in a book. How could he not, though? When you read a book, it's easy to get lost within the world that the author has created.
However, it's always history that catches his attention the most. Whether it's nonfiction or what's said to be historic fiction, there's no way he can pass up the opportunity to invest his time in a history novel.
So, if your character has decided to visit the library, they'll find three piles of books stacked rather high... Not to mention, they're all on history and mythology. If someone tries to get his attention, it may take some effort to get it. Never mind how his stomach growls.
In fact, he hasn't even realized that he's hungry. ]
b) The Park
[ After everything that's happened, Sorey's been taking walks to get some air from time to time. When he makes his way to the park, he can't help but be surprised. It's his first time here, and the last thing he really expects to see is the amount of animal spirits wandering around... ]
They seem pretty happy here, don't they?
c) Heimdallr's Temple
1) training
[ Despite the fact that training is done quite often, he's taken it upon himself to do a little training of his own. He... wants to be prepared, especially since he knows to expect the unexpected lately...
So, anyone who wanders into the park will catch Sorey swinging a ceremonial sword, looking rather focused. He wants to be a strong enough god for his shinki, too... The last thing he wants to do is put the both of them in danger or fail to help someone who's requested their help. ]
2) night time
[ If you're wandering near Heimdallr's temple later on at night, you'll find Sorey sitting on the steps to it. He'll greet your character politely. ]
Good evening. Couldn't sleep either, huh?
[ Or maybe your character is just a night owl! Either way, he doesn't mind keeping your character company. ]
D) Wildcard
[ Feel free to throw any prompt my way! I'll be happy to go with anything tbh. ]

the park
Which was basically what Piccolo was doing whenever Sorey ran into him at the park that day. The green skinned shinki was sitting cross legged on the ground, hands folded together in his lap, eyes closed. He was meditating, or attempting to as he listened to the little white feline pounce through the grass after a spirit dragonfly.
His brow furrowed at the interruption and a moment later he opened his eyes to slowly look up at Sorey. There was still a small frown marring his sharp features.]
Sure, I guess. [He answered disinterestedly.]
no subject
Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt anything.
[ Then again, if Sorey hadn't have done it, it looks like it would've been interrupted anyways - what, with how the kitten paws at Piccolo for attention. ]
no subject
[He stopped mid-reply to glance down at the needy kitten.]
Oh, come on. What do you want now? Don't you have plenty of distractions here without pawing at me every two seconds?
[Well, nothing unusual with that apparently. Don't mind the grumpy Namekian; it seems the kitten isn't bothered by the grumpy tone anyway.]
no subject
Looks like its pretty fond of you.
no subject
Yeah, I can't for the life of me figure out why.
[Piccolo picked up the kitten by the scruff of the neck and set it back down on the ground in front of his legs. He pushed it away from him.]
Go play some more. Hell, go bug the friendly guy over there. I'm sure he'll think you're cute or something.
no subject
I've read that cats are pretty fond of people who let them go to them. That's probably why he chose you.
no subject
[He tried to make it sound casual instead of interested. He only half succeeded. Which made him grimace in irritation and look away disinterestedly.]
Cats don't make any sense. I don't even want him.
no subject
Do you prefer dogs, then?
no subject
no subject
People mostly think of pets are friends, right? [ There's never any "use" for them or anything. ]
no subject
[Piccolo stared at the boy for a silent moment, his look flat and unimpressed. Eventually he let out a small huff of air, closed his eyes in a prolonged blink, and then responded properly.]
I wouldn't know. Seems a waste of time and energy to me.
no subject
[ He can't really imagine the pet being a pain to take care of or anything of the sort. ]
no subject
To be fair, Piccolo had tried to get rid of the kitten several times before now; Sorey was the first real offer that might be genuine so far. It left Piccolo a little... disbelieving.]
Sure, take it. Get it out of my antennae.
no subject
... Sure, but everything okay?
no subject
...yeah, why wouldn't it be? I can get more done without the little furball running under foot.
no subject
[ He's not going to push the question any more than that... ]
Did you give the cat a name?
no subject
[Why would he name it? He was trying not to get attached.
Still... he sounded a little hesitant to admit that. Embarrassed? Maybe. He had had the creature in his care for a while now.]
no subject
My shinki and I'll name it, then! Thanks a lot for this.
no subject
[He doesn't really see the need to say 'you're welcome' here even if it might be the typical response from anyone else after hearing the phrase 'thanks a lot'.
Dismissive, he closed his eyes and relaxed back into his meditative position.]
A
And has him coming over, Lavi breathing out and he reaches over, snatching a book away from Sorey.]
Sorey, time to eat.
no subject
[ Blinks a bit when the book is snatched away, eyes widening as he reaches for the book. ]
C'mon, just a few pages more won't hurt! [ Maybe. ]
no subject
[Though he can be just as bad as Sorey is right now.]
C'mon, eat.
no subject
[ Well, eating means that he needs to leave... ]
C1
[Mirei does not like the idea of learning to fight. She does not like it at all. It's alien, wrong: it squats, ugly and awkward-looking, alongside voice classes and rehearsals and practising her autograph. She really, really does not want to have to do it. Mirei has never fought anybody in her life unless playground arguments she can barely remember count, and she's a hundred percent certain they don't; she doesn't want to have to hurt anybody. And yet--
[She has to do better. She cannot rely on Wendy, is not sure she wants to rely on Hibiki, if that would be even partway wise. If nothing else, she has to learn to look after herself.
[So Mirei has been thinking about it, and that's why Sorey catches her eye. She stops walking to watch him practice, wondering what the words are for what he is doing, and if she would be any good at it and suspecting she won't be, wondering if she'd ever have the nerve to try anyway. But she's going to have to get it from somewhere, just like she'd had to start learning to dance, and she's got stamina and good balance and here seems as good a place to start the search as anywhere.]
Excuse me! May I ask you a question?
no subject
Sure. What is it?
[ Had she been watching him...? He'd been so caught up in what he was doing, he hadn't noticed. ]
no subject
[The acknowledgement is enough grounds to move closer - that and the fact he has stopped whatever he is doing, and the risk of finding herself on the receiving end of it has stopped with it. Besides, it's not polite to conduct a conversation over several feet and at a yell.]
I need to learn to look after myself, too. Do you know of anywhere I could go?
[Life was so much easier when she could assume that everything she needed to know would at least be mentioned in class - and gym lessons really could have done with covering this sort of thing over and above learning to kick a ball, because now Mirei can't stay safe in a fight and she's still no good at soccer.]
no subject
You could use my temple, if you want. [ He wouldn't mind at all. Though, he's pretty used to training on his own or with his shinki. Having someone else with him would certainly be different. ]
no subject
Are you certain? I mean, it's very kind of you, but I wouldn't want to get in your way...
[Mirei is smiling, of course; now that smile grows a little awkward. She looks away. Good student Mifrei may be, but she's also an absolute beginner.]
And I really don't know much about it. I'm sure I'd be a lot of work.
no subject
[ Sorey's never been one to say no to someone who needs help with something. And really, he doesn't mind the company. ]
The more the merrier. Though, depending on the type of weapon you're going to use, I could help you out with learning how to use it, too.
no subject
[Oh, this is ridiculous. Mirei hesitates; she wants to fidget, and she schools herself to keep her hands still. This shouldn't be necessary. Absolutely none of it should be necessary - and certainly not expecting a stranger to take her on as some kind of personal project...
[It's very necessary indeed. She isn't looking away any more.]
To be quite honest, I'm not certain I even know what that would be. I've never had need of it before.
no subject
[ Sorey can't help but feel some sympathy for her. She's gone from a home that was peaceful to one where there's sometimes no choice but to do just that. Still, that's all the more reason to help her out. ]
If you'd like - I could help you out with learning how to use a sword - or, a bow and arrow!
no subject
[This all sounds like something she needs Sion for. Mirei hardly wants Sion to be here in her place but she cannot help but wonder, if only for a minute, if whoever it is chooses candidates for this place has poor eyesight or bad aim.]
I think a bow would be better, if that's all right. I am not certain I could handle a sword.
[Swords are heavy, and take arm and body strength she is certain she lacks. Swords are sharp, and Mirei worries about the danger to her fingers. Swords are personal--
[No, a bow is the logical choice.]
no subject
It's a good option is you don't think you can use a sword!
[ And it's not too difficult to get the hang of. It just takes practice, really. It's something Sorey could teach her. ]
Want me to teach you?
no subject
Well, I certainly need somebody to. You really wouldn't mind? I don't want to cause you any bother.
[It seems a lot to do, for a stranger. Is he sure he doesn't want to back out?]
