[Semi-Open] Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires
Who: Rin , Add and anyone
When: From the morning of November 24th thru Early December
Where: Henir's Temple and other places in the Far Shore
What: Rin gets his demon powers back, and he starts trying to control his power on his own. It's probably a bad idea.
[Closed to Add]
Rin was a heavy sleeper, and it really took a lot of noise to wake him up. That morning Rin was woken out of his sleep to the sound of crashing from within their living space. Rin sat up in his bed with a start and headed out of his room to see what the commotion was. The noise sounded like it came from the kitchen. He poked his head in, seeing various items scattered across the floor. Then his eyes moved upwards, only to see Apocalypse floating about the kitchen.
Though there appeared to be something protruding out from the cat's cube form. Rin narrowed his eyes, realizing it was a sword. How the hell did it get that attached to him? Though the robot kitty looked. a bit in distress since the sword effects his mobility. Rin watched Apocalypse clumsily bump into another cabinet.
"Don't worry, I got ya!" Rin stepped forward, grabbing a hold of the sheath sticking out from robot cat. Rin started to pull, trying to fight against the magnetic force adhering the sword to Apocalypse. Rather than the sword sliding off easily, the sheath seems to be the only thing starting to budge.
[Open to all]
So now Rin has a sword that can activate his powers. All he understood was the change in his appearance and being surrounded by blue flames. Though, he wasn't sure how to control it. Since after the incident, the flames weren't limited to just when he drew the sword, but when he got fired up emotionally. So Rin figured if he did some self-study, it could help him in the long run. So Rin looked for a secluded place he could practice. The temple was off limits since he already started enough fires in there, to the point where Add needed to install a built in fire extinguisher. Rin didn't want to practice outside of the temple to ensure he didn't destroy any of Add's flowers. The training grounds that Bishamon usually provided wouldn't do,since he didn't want to set that on fire either.
Someone might find Rin in an open field trying to concentrate in his demon form, or even running into a body of water to try to suppress the flames. Neither of them really work, but Rin's a little too stubborn to see it for himself. Hopefully, a stranger or friend will come across Rin give him a few pointers, or point out his stupidity. For those who recognize Rin, they might notice a change in him, most notably a tail.]
[OOC: Wildcard option is possible. Even though prompts are in prose, feel to reply in any other format.]

Though, Rin seemed to be quite preoccupied with controlling his flames, and that is something that Ain can try to help with. He would ask to come with the youth, and follow him to where he wanted to practice with his flames. ]
Don't worry, I'm not flammable, [ He offers tentatively ]
no subject
At Ain's offer to help, Rin takes it up on it. The fact of him not being flammable helps. Rin chuckles a little at that.]
Well that's works! Let's go outside for a bit, yeah? I know a place where we can go.
[ A vacant field would probably be best. He didn't want to be around things that could burn or even where his flames could spread and cause a catastrophe. It's a bit far from Add's temple, but that's what Rin wants to be as far away from people as he can.]
All right! Let's see if I can use the flames without drawing the sword first. Maybe if I had some target to focus on?
no subject
He follows Rin to the clearing, floating a few feet behind him, looking for all the world like some sort of dark green jellyfish. ]
You want... something to hit?
[ He can do that, he thinks. Lifting a hand, he produces a black orb from his palm and hangs it some distance above Rin's head. ]
Like that?
no subject
You really are useful,y'know. I can totally use that. Let's try it out!
[Rin backs up a little, giving himself more room to aim for the orb. He's not sure if he can muster his flames like this, but it's worth a try. He just has to envision it. See the flames shoot out of him towards the orb. Rin concentrates, closing his eyes as he tries to feel the familiar sensation of being surrounded by fire. Though, he just feels normal. After a few moments of trying, nothing really happens. Damn it!
He opens his eyes, looking down at himself and not seeing that blue blaze anywhere.]
That didn't work....maybe there's more to it, then. [ He rubs his head a bit confused. Then something comes to him, and he looks back to the other shinki.] Hey, Ain, would anything happen to me if I touch the orb?
[Just asking a normal question that will most likely lead into the next course of action that Rin decides to take.]
no subject
However, the youth seems to give up quickly, so maybe they need another way. Ain tilts his head at Rin's request, his hair swishing without a breeze: ]
I can make sure it's safe to touch.
[ That just requires putting more effort into defining its edges, so nothing spills out by accident. That's easy. ]
no subject
[It was crazy to suggest it, but Rin can be a bit reckless. Though he feels he needs a bit of danger in order to figure out his power. It's like Davesprite told him a while ago, sometimes you learn your abilities in the heat of the battle. That's what Rin is trying to aim for.]
I don't want it to be safe, I want it to be a little dangerous. Can you do that? I know I'm asking a lot of you.
no subject
There's a few moments of pause as he thinks on it, and then the orb starts to float around Rin, extending a shadowy hand to... try and swat him harmlessly.
Rin says to make things dangerous, but it still feels something strange to him, so he'll proceed cautiously. ]

Rin..? [But Emizel would rather hear Rin explain it himself.]
no subject
Rin hears Emi calls out to him and he nearly jumps in his skin. He turns to the death god.]
Emi, what are you doing out here?
[Rin deliberately picked a spot that wasn't frequent by people often. Though if he was found by the death god, he guess it wasn't that good of an area to train.]
no subject
Why did you never say you were demon!? [He was surprised, yes. But also excited. They had even more things in common now!]
no subject
[Rin should have thought of that.
As for not telling Emi he was a demon, Rin seems a bit bashful about it. Rubbing the back of his head as a nervous gesture.]
Well I didn't mean to keep it from you. Actually, I didn't really find out not too long ago. I still don't really understand it, since none of my memories returned yet.
[Hence why, Rin is out here to figure things outs.]
no subject
Well, I think it's really cool! [Assuming yanno, Rin was worried about that. Much like Tsuzuki is. Or was he only hiding out here because of the whole fire thing?]
no subject
Yeah? I don't really know how I feel about it.
[Rin gives Emi an uneasy smile.]
I mean the fire's kinda badass, but I'm wondering how people might see me now. I mean, I got along fine with being human, would things be different being a demon now? It's probably really stupid to worry about that.

...There might be some bothered by it, but, who really cares about what they think?

Obi follows because, that's interesting.
And look, it's a person!
"Did you set yourself on fire?"
no subject
"No...well, I guess it does!" Rin ponders it. It does seem like he does set himself on fire, but technically that's not it. He looks down at himself and sees the blue flames surrounding him. It's still a bit odd to accept. "It doesn't burn me,at least."
no subject
"I can see that- how's that work?"
Would the fire hurt Obi if he tried to touch it? Is only the kid immune to it?
no subject
But hey, maybe Obi might understand if he shows him. He sheaths his sword and all the flames disappear. Though when he pulls the sword out, flames spread all around him including the sword.
"See? I guess that's how it works."
no subject
"That is really peculiar. It's like a switch. What if you only pull it out a little bit?"
no subject
This has definitely been making a lot of noise, though. Add can only ignore so much before it starts to get on his nerves. So, moments after Rin's arrival, Add appears in the kitchen with a scowl to see what the commotion is about.
... he stares in blank confusion for a few seconds as he tries to figure out what is going on here. Why does Rin have a sword? Why is the sword stabbing Apocalypse??
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" This is probably Rin's fault somehow. Add stomps over, reaching to try and grab the sword for himself. "Apocalypse is an advanced AI assistant, it is not some toy you can use for target practice!"
no subject
Rin tries to think, but Add's voice hits him like a thunderbolt. He straightens up as he looks towards the entrance. At first, he's not following the god. Toy? Target practice? Then he comes to the conclusion that Add is misunderstanding the situation.
"Really?! You think I would use Calyspo for target practice?! Who do you think I am?!" Rin yells back, incredulously!
Anyway, it's not the time to be pointing fingers. They needed to help the little guy, it's obviously freaking out. Rin directs Add to the sword, showing where the sword is stuck to Apoc.
"Look, the sword is stuck to it's side. Help me get this thing off. It ain't budgin'."
no subject
Of course, if he'd ever asked Apocalypse for it's thoughts on the matter, the cube would say that nicknames signify a friendship between two people and that it's happy Rin considers it a friend! ... but Add's opinions are more important, probably. Apocalyse is a way cooler name! Why can't Rin just say it right?!
He tries his best to help yank the sword free, but Add's physical strength is a very sad fraction of Rin's, so... really, it's still just Rin doing all the work. But at least Add is helping? It's the thought that counts? He pulls on it uselessly for about twenty seconds before he has to let go, panting for breath.
"Ugh... h-how did it get stuck like that?"
no subject
As for Rin's favored name for Apoc, Rin's not budging on that. It's a fun name
that everyone can love! "That name is so long, you need to catch your breath right after! Calypso is the better name, admit it!"
Rin is still trying his best to fight the magnetism and pull the sword away from Apoc. However the task is not easy. Even Add puts in his effort, but sadly the god doesn't last very long. Either way, Rin gets an idea. Still holding onto the sword, he anchors his feet on a close by wall, using it as leverage.
"I dunno. I just found Calypso like this. Knockin' things over in the kitchen like it was tryna get it off. I'm sure you can figure out something science-y to solve this." That,or Rin's strength and persistence finally overcoming the magnetic force.
no subject
"Could belong to someone," he mutters, recalling the times he's had objects from back home appear. It seems to be a pattern with such things... so, it must belong to one of his shinki if it showed up here.
... didn't Yukio say something about a Japanese sword before?
They really should free Apocalypse before figuring out the sword's origin, though. Add straightens himself back up, folding his arms thoughtfully. "Something science-y" is hardly how he'd put it, but... there is one thing he hasn't tried.
"Apocalypse, return to stand-by mode."
The cube's surfaces flicker in response, and after a second or two the outer cubes surrounding its core start to spin, dispersing into the air and vanishing. Only the core is left behind, still sticking to the edge of the sword showing above the sheath. Well, it's still stuck, but at least it'll be easier to pry off like that.
Although, this also means Apocalypse isn't keeping that sword in the air anymore, so hopefully Rin wasn't pulling too hard at that moment.
no subject
Though it does feel loose, when Add tells Apoc to go into standby mode. Rin watches as the outer cubes disappear. Only for Rin to feel himself falling as the sword's sheath slides off. There's really only one way to react to descending backwards. "Shit!"
There's a loud crash as Rin hits the floor, bringing a couple of things down with him. On top of the mess Apocalypse caused earlier, and the one he makes now, he's in for a major clean up. Rin cringes as he feels the pain throughout his body, and to make it worse the sword falls on his stomach too. Rin gives grunt as he recoils from the pain.
"Some warning would've been nice!!" Rin yells at Add from the floor. He gets up with the sword in his right hand. The shinki examines the sword. It really does look like a special sword. Rin's kind of jealous that he can't keep a cool looking sword.
There's still the question of where it came from. He looks in Add's direction."So...what now? This probably belongs to someone, right? Shouldn't we give it back to them?"
