[closed] catch-all log for closed prompts
Who: Sheryl (
galactically) and Hajime (
birdstheword) in one scenario; Sheryl and Zoro (
wadoichimonji) in another
What: morning exercises with Hajime; prayer #11 with Zoro
When: backdated to April 3rd and 4th, respectively
Where: outside Hajime's temple and a random town
Warnings: ???
[closed to Hajime | April 3rd, morning]
[It's not everyday that Sheryl visits other people's temples unless she's invited to them for parties, but this is a new experience that she's willing to take advantage of. A morning jog with a fellow goddess, that's what she's about to do. Waking up at around six in the morning doesn't seem to deter her in the slightest as she strolls with a melodic hum towards Neith's temple, a place that she already recognizes from the pool party a while back.
It brought back memories that evoke a fond smile on her face for sure.
Dressed in a simple white tank top and blue shorts, she rings the doorbell and waits for Hajime to appear. And in a cheerful tone:]
Hajime, it's me!
[closed to Zoro | April 4th, late afternoon]
["What do you mean my resumé isn't good enough?! I'm trying, damn it!"
The sight before Sheryl is enough for an eyebrow twitch to form on her otherwise calm face. This boy looks desperate, clutching his hair and sounding utterly whiny as he shoots her a glare, scowling. She'd normally be fine with his mindset — to keep trying and trying no matter how many times he's been shot down. Still, with how she narrows her eyes at the resumé on the table, it's clear from her face alone that she's unimpressed.
So she folds her arms across her chest, Zoro to the left of her.]
All you have in this resumé is one retail job, one secretary job, and one job at the cash register. [She unfolds her arms to tap his paper a few times, frowning.] Nothing on your other skills. You don't have any letters of recommendation or a cover letter stating why you should be hired.
["So what?" he asks, sulking in his chair with his arms crossed. "I've tried everything and nothing's working out for me!"
Without any preamble, Sheryl rises from her seat, pointing at him. Hello, dramatics!]
You can't expect to do the bare minimum! If you want to be noticed, then go all the way!

He looks at Sheryl, then at the man, and clicks his tongue.]
How long are we going to stay here? He's a lazyass, of course he won't go 'all the way' like you want him to.
no subject
[Not to mention that she's the goddess who accepted this boy's prayers, and so it's up to her to ensure his job prospects come true. Sheryl is about to speak some more, but the boy shifts his attention to Zoro and clenches his fist at him.
"What did you say?! Tell it to my face! I dare you!"
She scowls, bracing her hands on the table.]
Calm down! I don't want to see any fighting going on!
no subject
I bet he can't even use that thing correctly.
[He says, pointing to the computer.]
Should've picked someone better lady, he's not worth it.
no subject
I don't care how long he has to complain about it, Zoro, I won't give up on him.
[Even if that boy is giving Sheryl all the headaches right now, she's not the type to give up on a challenge. Difficult? Yes, but not impossible. Sighing, she rubs her temples with the tips of her fingers. The sooner she can finish that boy's request, the faster she can gain more followers.]
Hey, I have an idea...
[Sheryl glances up at Zoro with an expectant look, curling her fingers around her chin.]
no subject
You may not give up on him, but I will.
[He starts looking around, looking for anything interesting to do, when he hears Sheryl speak.]
... What?
no subject
[There's a small grumble out of the boy as he acquiesces before Sheryl pulls Zoro aside with a small smirk, making her voice low enough.]
How good are you at intimidation tactics?
no subject
From what I can feel, I think I might be really good. Why?
no subject
I'm going to need you to do some "convincing" for that guy.
[She says, a smile that may be a little too innocent-looking to be genuine.]
no subject
got anything specific in mind?
no subject
Tell him that he has to gain additional skills for his resumé! Potential employers will be looking for that to hire workers.
no subject
[Zoro walks up to the guy, who's still just drooping over his papers and winning about something or another. He frowns, crossing his arms, and looks down at the man.]
You know what trash like you needs? More stuff to add to that paper. Do you even know how to do anything but sit here and cry?
no subject
Well, if Zoro is going to play bad cop, then Sheryl can be the less bad cop... perhaps. She sits down across from the boy, holding up the incomplete resumé with one hand and pointing at it with the other.]
What my friend means is that every employer might be asking you what languages you learned, or what other skills you can do.
[Translating Zoro-ese to regular language! Yup, that's what Sheryl is doing. She spares a glance at the computer, an idea forming in her head.
"Oh, well I know some English... does that count? And I'm really good at spreadsheets!" He says, scratching his head while he tries not to twitch his brows from the staring.]
no subject
Anyone can do that. Are you going to keep whining or think of more useful stuff?

Opening it, her face instantly lights up]
G'morning Sheryl-chan!!!
[She beams waving twice as she holds the door open while quickly trying to put on her shoes]
Right on time!
no subject
[Sheryl practically beams at the sight of a very bouncy goddess at the front door, taking a few steps back in her sneakers. So what if they'll be making noises at six in the morning? She's going to make sure this morning jog is going to be a fun one!]
Careful not to trip on your shoes. Did you bring your drinks?
[So she says with a playful lilt, and she asks in case Hajime gets thirsty. Running does involve some strenuous work-out in the body, after all.]
no subject
[Hajime quickly finishes putting on her shoes to the tempo of her own song. Even tapping the toe of each shoe against the ground to make sure they're snug. She then grabs the light cutsy duck-themed backpack for convenience next to the door. She holds it up when Sheryl asks her question.]
Yep! All in here!
[She slips it over her shoulders before heading out the door, it closes behind her. Hajime skips over to Sheryl. She doesn't stop next to her, but rather leaps into with arms spread wide. How they don't go tumbling over is a feat in itself. Hajime gives her a quick squeeze before taking a step back and raising her right an in a salute]
Ready to go~!
no subject
[There's some laughter bubbling up from out of Sheryl at hearing Hajime's song, but it stops abruptly short as she sucks in a breath, finding herself with an armful of goddess. This isn't even the first time she's been squeezed so fiercely without tumbling over, but Hajime never ceases to surprise her. Wow, so much energy in the morning.]
My, my, someone is very eager! [And after being released, she points to the direction of some path before them.] Okay then, we're all set. Now let's go!
[With a pivot of her heels, Sheryl proceeds to jog into position, then off she goes.]
no subject
Of course! I was excited for this! A morning with you?! Who wouldn't be eager?
[She means it too. She likes Sheryl! She's a good friend and the chance to spend some extra time with her and get a jogging buddy? It's perfect!
Hajime's attention drifts in the direction she points before setting off after her. The jog starts off with a few bouncy-skips before becoming a true jog. She jogs a bit behind Sheryl before proceeding to run along side her as she matches her speed. The path is big enough for two and she can move aside for anyone that needs to pass]
no subject
People with no taste!
[And Sheryl deems Hajime a woman of fine taste, she playfully muses, jogging alongside her friend in the wide path. She takes in the scenery around her, the fresh, clean air of the outside filling in her nostrils and within her lungs. It's a sight that she's seen quite often, truthfully, but it never ceases to amaze her nonetheless.]
Aah, today feels really nice out. I'm so glad for this wind!
no subject
[Hajime jumps up, throwing her arms in the air once before she transitioning back into a regular jog. She enjoys days like this. Nothing beats them. She flashes another smile to Sheryl]
Soooooo~ How have you been? Anything new and exciting Sheryl-chan?
no subject
[She's quick to echo, taking a glimpse at the bright sky above their heads. Neither extremely hot or cold, just the perfect weather. There's a small hum, a look of anticipation as she continues to jog, keeping her breaths steady without messing up the rhythm.]
Perfect as usual, and yourself? [Only Sheryl could think of that phrase herself. She pauses with a grin.] Hermes has invited me to see his track at his temple. I'm taking Zoro with me.
no subject
[Hajime is easy enough to please. Spending time with her friends makes any day a good day. Considering some of those friends are her shinki, she sees them everyday!]
Really? I donno who Zoro is but Hermes is great! I got to do his hair before and he's the best ninja around! I bet you guys will have lots of fun!
no subject
[She lets out some cheerful laughter before it fades and she curls her lips in disapproval.]
He also gets lost a lot and can be annoying at times, so I have to keen an eye out for him! [A soft chortle or two.] Hermes is a very interesting god for sure. You're lucky you get to be his hairdresser.
no subject
[Honest truth ther. Prettiest ninja around.]
I wonder how many more people will show up. There are a lot more shinki and gods around then when I first arrived. It's great but at the same time...
[Everyone is either dying or leaving their friends back home to come here...]
no subject
[This is of extreme import to Sheryl, okay, as she smirks. Nostalgic reasons over Alto and all.
But her smirk eventually falters at hearing Hajime's words, prompting her to look at the sky above their heads.]
Those newcomers will be away from their world.
[To say nothing of the people who become shinki and actually die...]
