Special Deliveries
Who: Alex and Reisi.
When: Sometime between Suoh's disappearance and Christmas.
Where: The Near Shore, the suburbs about an hour from Tokyo.
What: Prayer #86: A prayer for responsibility.
[All around the world, young children and pre-teens experience what they consider their first task - their first test of responsibility - by an adult in their life. It's an exciting but scary time as they venture out into the world.
Responsibility is something of utmost importance to Reisi. That's why he chooses to answer the prayers of a young mortal and their parents. The child has been assigned a special task to purchase and deliver some offerings to their grandparents in exchange for an heirloom that they must then bring home. It's said that the heirloom is a family treasure passed down through generations, and is filled with spiritual energy of sorts, so the parents fervently pray for their child's safety and good fortune in fulfilling their task.
Reisi isn't the only one who hears this family's prayers. Thankfully, he'd been waiting for another opportunity to work with a certain goddess, especially in light of a recent loss. Perhaps it will serve a good distraction for the both of them.
He reaches the starting point—the child's house—just as Yuu's mother tucks an envelope into their hands and says it should contain enough money to buy persimmons from a specific shop on the other side of their neighborhood. Yuu nods and thanks their mother, sticking the envelope safely into their bag before announcing their heading out. After exiting their house, they cross their small yard and take to the streets to complete their special task.]

[ It seemed valuable enough, and just from what she's used to, theft seemed like a more likely threat. ]
Thanks again for agreeing to do this with me, Reisi.
[ Admittedly, she wanted to see how he was doing since Mikoto left. While Reisi didn't seem to consider him a friend, Alex knew Mikoto still meant something to him. ]
