Killing two birds with one stone
Who: Sanzo and Hibari | Kuroko, Alucard, and Sora
What: One side has a discussion about being trapped in servitude, the other about puppies and being nice to people.
When: April 9 | April 10
Where: Library | Alucard's temple
Warnings: Hibari and Sanzo occupying the same space for more than one minute
..[A].. Closed to Hibari and Sanzo
It had only been a little time since the Nora event had last, and in a way, Hibari supposed it sank in. He was feeling more nervous and on edge than he cared to admit to Hakkai through texts, and even petting Kishi-who had curled up on him and purred-wasn't calming him down.
The name was still under his shirt, burning like a brand ever since last night. How people could even stand this, he didn't know. It was bad enough to be held down by one god, and two of them was downright disgusting and humiliating, especially when the choice had been forced on him.
This insecurity and sudden onset of a lot of emotions Hibari didn't want was why he was holing himself up in the library, even though he would be long gone by now. Actually, now that he thought about it, where was that blonde guy always hanging out in here? Hibari wanted to leave before he came in, but this was the safest place.
..[B].. Closed to Alucard, Sora, and Kuroko
Kuroko may have been a kind person, but when it came to certain things like friends and puppies, he could be as stubborn as the rest of them. It made him feel a little guilty inside that he was causing so much trouble for his god, but honestly, the boy didn't know what else to do with the gaping hole his memory loss gave him.
But Sora had appeared on the cherry blossom night and he'd kept in contact ever since, almost like a little ray of light. That's how he'd gotten the idea to have Sora come over and say hi to his little puppy. Maybe with another god's opinion-someone as outgoing and friendly as Sora-he could convince Arikado-sama that the dog and friends were a good idea.
And maybe then he wouldn't be so lonely-feeling at night.
But that was for neither here nor there, and instead Kuroko busied himself with getting to the entrance of the caves so he could greet his friend. Hopefully...he wouldn't sneak up on him this time. "Sora-sama? Is that you?"

demonpet Sora had readily jumped at the idea. Kuroko seemed to be pretty pleased that he was allowed to keep one and Sora really wanted to see it too.It wasn't every day that he got to see what a death god's temple was like either! At first he imagined The Underworld and Hades' place where he had spent a lot of time with Auron and Hercules. But who knew what Kuroko's place would actually look like. From what he had learned from Kuroko of this god, he was a pretty gloomy guy. So right now he's picturing the god will show up with literal flaming blue hair and an ugly nose.
He does jump slightly when Koruko greets him, but by now he's starting to pick up on Kuroko's subtle ways. He smiles and waves. "Hey Kuroko! How's it going? This is the big scary entrance to your temple, then?"
no subject
Which of course, was further inside, but as Kuroko turned around and began to lead his friend, he hoped that both of them were quiet enough that Alucard maybe wouldn't care about the disturbance.
no subject
Then he shifted back, taking a looped route to where it seemed they would be heading. In short order, the two would turn a corner only to find the dark-haired man waiting for them, eyes immediately locking on the unfamiliar figure.
"Sora-sama, I take it?"
no subject
Also he was pretty jealous they had hot springs down here. Could he get those installed at his temple?
Then they came around the bend and were faced with a scary-looking tall pale weird guy. This must be Arikado.
"Hiya! Just Sora is fine!" He replied politely, tilting his head, "Thanks for having me over today!"
no subject
"Yes, this is my friend I've mentioned before. I want to show him around and play with Satan a little bit." Kuroko sounded every bit like a kid with his overbearing parent.
no subject
His face remained neutral, almost blank, as he tilted his head. A glance towards Kuroko- and then a nod. "You can thank Kuroko for that. It seems as though I did not have a choice. Nonetheless, welcome."
The man turned, then paused, glancing over his shoulder.
"Satan is where you left him. He's been whining for you."
no subject
In his personal opinion shinki didn't really need permission to have friends over. Sure, gods "owned" them but they were still living souls with likes and dislikes and needs. What a stark difference to Sora's laid back open concept policy.
He wanted to say I'll be sure to call you first next time haha but he kept his lip tight for once and grinned.
"I can't wait to see him! Is he growing really big now?"
no subject
"I'll be sure to take care of him," he said to Arikado-sama, bowing politely and walking off with his friend.
"I apologize, he's not very good with people," Kuroko continued to say. "As for Satan, I think he's grown as big as he can."
no subject
Shaking his head, he took the branch of the paths that would take him to the springs. They seemed to be one of the only things that could soothe the lingering aches on his neck and back, though at this point, it seemed as though they never disappeared completely.
no subject
Sora shakes his head and shrugs lightly when Kuroko apologizes. "There's nothing for you to say sorry for, you know. Is he always like that though?"
He scratches he cheek in thought and then laughs. "I mean I guess if he's a death god he really does play the part with the whole gloomy thing he's got going on..."
no subject
Still, Kuroko sped up when he heard the sound of small whining and barking coming from his room. "Satan, is that you? I'm back and I brought a friend!"
And with that, all of a sudden a tiny fluff ball shot out and bolted to Kuroko's feet, circling and barking up a storm.
no subject
But Sora's train of thought is suddenly derailed as the cute little puppy puff flies out and starts boofing.
Sora makes a weird high pitched squeal noise in excitement.
"That's Satan?!"
no subject
After getting licked to death himself, Kuroko held out the pup to Sora, obviously indicating he should hold the tiny fluff for himself. "He wants to say hi."
no subject
So adorable!
He happily cuddles the puppy and rubs his face agianst the puppy's neck and scratches him happily behind his ears.
"Best demon ever! Kuroko you're so lucky!"
no subject
"I'm very lucky to have found him-I was out on a mission with Arikado-sama, and this little puppy kept following me after I started petting him. At first he wouldn't let me keep it, but I changed his mind. Sort of."
no subject
When Kuroko says that Arikado didn't let him keep this cute thing at first he half frowns and gives Kuroko a curious look.
"Sort of? He's still not sure about letting you keep him?"
He looks up at the ceiling. Sora sure thought it wasn't very nice to be that strict. This puppy was obviously well taken care of thanks to Kuroko. And Kuroko seemed happy. What was the problem?
"Is there any reason why he's so grumpy? I mean... is it bothering you that he's so grumpy?"
(sorry for edits, this tag was a mess lol)
no subject
"I like Satan, but he seems to think having something from the Near Shore around isn't good and that I won't be able to care for him all by myself. I don't know why he's so grumpy either."
no subject
He believed it was a god's responsibility to make sure sure their shinki were happy and healthy and this seemed like such a minor thing to allow.
"Has he tried to hold Satan himself, he's really mega adorable. I bet if he held him he'd warm up right away and drop that ice prince attitude! Lets go stuff him in his shirt." Sora joked, trying to cheer Kuroko up.
His smile got softer. "Do you want me to talk to him about this, god to god?"
Because he would, for a friend he absolutely would.
no subject
Kuroko still had his masterful poker face on, but his body language was far different. Perhaps it was because Sora was so warm and open, or maybe just because he wanted to tell SOMEONE about this. Either way, he seemed depressed, curling in on himself.
"I'm not sure how that would go. I don't want to disturb him at all, since he doesn't seem to like me that much. I'm not very useful as a shinki."
no subject
Sora gave Satan one more happy squeeze and gently put him down on the ground before putting his hands on Kuroko's shoulders and shook him lightly. "Kuroko, you are useful. You shouldn't feel like that, okay? Every shinki is powerful and useful no matter what they are or what they can do."
He let go and crossed his arms. "And Arikado should realize that too. But you need to talk to him, because if you're both upset it's only going to get worse between you guys! I'm sure he likes you, you guys just need to learn more about each other."
no subject
"I don't turn into a weapon, so he can't fight to his full potential. I have seen the way he acts frustrated in battle, Sora-sama. I am not very good at communicating with other people." Besides, he had been worried that Arikado would find his presence annoying, because anxiety listened to no one.
no subject
And he laughs, giving Kuroko a reassured smile. "And you talk to me just fine, if you practice talking with me, maybe it'll be easier for you with Arikado."
no subject
And he'd been wracking his brain. Kuroko wasn't exactly the worlds best strategist, even with how amazing he was at reading people. "And that's just because Sora-sama is friendly."
no subject
Sora grins, looking a little sparkly eyed at the concept. And after all, sometimes teamwork requires more than just two people.
"Either way, I think both of you got stuff you could work on. It wouldn't hurt him to be a little more friendly and sensitive too!"
no subject
That would be becoming a Nora and that was something Kuroko would absolutely never do. "I also don't know how I would feel if he got a second shinki."
no subject
"Well, we could always work together, you and Arikado can go invisible and I could try to find you guys? Practice makes perfect, right?"
And he smiles gently at Kuroko at his comment about a second shinki. He's exactly like Riku Replica.
"Do you know what an Exemplar is, Kuroko?" He says with a grin.
no subject
It was be a way for the two to get talking, at least. If Kuroko wanted to get Sora's help with his god it was better to have established good relations, right?
However at the next question he cocked his head, much like a puppy. "No, I don't. What's that?"
no subject
Then he nods, "An Exemplar is a god's number one shinki. The one they trust most, work well with most and confide in most. So, that means that you're his Exemplar! So even if he does get a second one, you'll always be his Exemplar."
Of course unless Arikado appoints another shinki as Exemplar but Sora finds that in bad taste. Kuroko is strong, even if he doesn't believe it himself.
no subject
"I think that would require us communicating more than we do. I normally don't see him around our temple, and when I do, it's in passing. He doesn't seem like the person who can be easily disturbed."
Which honestly, explained a lot of their communication problems.
no subject
"Well... All I can say is nothing happens overnight. You guys just need to practice talking to each other and being honest. I really think some training together with me is a good start! It'll be a good way for you two to spend time together too and to learn a bit more about each other. Everything will fall into place after that."
no subject
"Can Sora-sama come with me to ask? I don't wish to rely only on you, but I feel as if the proposal would go better if you were there to show your support for it."
no subject
He has absolutely no problem with being the cheerleader for the proposal. After he’s through with Alucard and Kuroko, they’re bound to be closer than ever. Nothing like a good old training session to really learn about another person.
no subject
And there was still that warm feeling in his chest that Sora was really too good of a friend for him. It left a strange empty feeling in his heart, like something was missing; if he dwelt on it too long, Kuroko started feeling sick.
So instead he fluffed up Satan's fur and awkwardly started leading his new friend to where the not-vampire was.
no subject
Either way, Sora would help Kuroko no matter what. In his books, Kuroko is already a good friend and he'd help him out.
