Who: Jae-Ha, Unmi, and guest appearances by Ebisu
What: In exchange for learning spells from one of Ebisu's shinki, Jae-Ha has volunteered to help work at the temple. Please leave some nice flowers on his second grave.
When: January 9
Where: Ebisu's Temple
Amidst the conservative but beautiful traditionalism of other Far Shore temples, Ebisu's is always doomed to stand out in the Central District. A brilliantly shining skyscraper, with smaller buildings attached... Well, trade is always changing, and so it's fitting that the god who rules such a domain is also changing one way or another. For some, it's intimidating, and for others it can be an eye sore... but it's there regardless.
And completely open to anyone who's interested in coming over, as it turns out. There's no gates barring the way onto the grounds (more like a large parking lot at this point), and there's a simple lobby waiting through the front doors. Aomi is seated at the desk there, fingers going at the speed of sound with his attention focused on the screen before him. When he hears someone enter, however, he pauses to look up.
"Oh... Can I help you?"

"Oh... Can I help you?"

Perhaps he should have inquired more about just what kind of work Ebisu's shinki had entailed.
Upon entering, he blinks when he sees the shinki sitting at the desk and has to hold back the urge to come over and poke at the strange and fascinating technology.
He clears his throat.
"I'm here to see Unmi,"
While he does sound sure, Jae-ha also...isn't familiar with this sort of thing - unsure if he should speak in formal business "talk". This modern day and age still confuses him sometimes.

"Unmi-san should be... on the ninth floor. Would you like me to help you find your way...?"
no subject
"If it's no trouble."
no subject
"You met Unmi-san and the young master at one of the training events, didn't you?" he asks as he presses the floor button. "Who would your god be?"
no subject
He's tempted to push buttons.
"I did. My goddess is Áine."
no subject
Aomi nods. "Áine-sama, then. I'll be sure to keep an eye out and greet her properly, the next time I accompany the young master out of the temple." Which could be any time, honestly. Things are always happening around here, it seems, especially with the new gods and their shinki around.
If Jae-Hae wants, that can be the end of the conversation up until they reach their destination, with the elevator giving a slow jolt as it shifts speeds and begins to slow.
no subject
"You can't miss her. She's the little young lady with the red hair."
And he hasn't seen a young woman with red hair or with Yona's stature around here yet.

The elevator finally comes to a rather smooth stop, and the doors slide open. With the action enters the sound of rapidly clicking keys, hurried chatter over desk barriers, and various other people in suits stepping this way and that. Stepping out, Aomi nods to Jae-Ha. "Please stay by me... It's a little chaotic around here." In case that wasn't obvious.
no subject
When the doors finally open, he...can't help but stare. It makes him blink a few times, feeling a bead of sweat drip down from the side of his face. Oh, this is...going to be quite a trial isn't is?
"It seems like it." Does he have some possible regrets? Maybe. But he's determined to see this through.

Patiently, Aomi escorts him through the busy office space, dodging his fellow coworkers with a well practiced ease. They're all exhausted anyway; it's not that hard when he remembers to pay attention. The entire floor seems to be as busy as a hive of bees, and the set up almost seems similar in how strictly organized it is. Soon enough, Aomi comes to a stop to a desk and raps his knuckles against the divider. "Unmi-san, the person you invited is here."
From where he's been bent over carefully inspecting a document, Unmi straightens up in surprise before smiling gratefully. "Oh, you're right on time! I got so caught up in work that it passed me by. Thank you for making it- and thank you, Aomi-kun."
no subject
Jae-ha gives Unmi a smile.
He turns to Aomi and nods to him. "Thank you for escorting me here."
no subject
"You say that like I do that regularly..." Unmi shakes his head, amused, while Aomi takes his leave to go back down to the first floor. "Anyway, please take a seat-" He gestures to a couple of empty spaces that are near to his own desk. Well, maybe more than a couple are technically empty, they've just been overridden by paperwork from neighboring desks... like Unmi's own. "Since you're really only assisting me, I won't ask for anything too difficult. Just sorting out things, to help make my own job a little smoother. While you work, we can also talk about the kinds of spells you would be interested in learning."
no subject
But Jae-ha does nod to Aomi as he leaves. Heading in, he looks around, seemingly amazed by the numerous amounts of papers that seems to litter the place.
"Fair enough. Is there any specific way you want them to be sorted?" He takes a seat after moving some papers aside.
no subject
"My department handles agriculture, so we often handle farms, whether locally owned or otherwise. However, some of these stacks have gotten a little bit mixed up when I haven't been looking. So, I just need you to organize them. We can start out with organizing them into stacks of what prefectures they're from. Once that's sorted out, we can move onto separating them into the exact farms. Shouldn't be too hard, hm?"
Just long and tedious.
no subject
He inclines his head in agreement.
"Not hard at all."
But yes, he can now see why all of Ebisu's shinki are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. He is suddenly grateful that temple life at Yona's is relatively calmer compared to this mess.
no subject
Still, that's an agreement, and it's too late to back out now. Unmi smiles at him encouragingly. "Then, I'll be counting on you for today." And part of that means going to sit back down at his own desk to get back to what he was working on. Still, he'll do his best to keep an eye on the other shinki just in case he starts getting too flustered and confused. After about half an hour, he'll even stop completely, just to check.
no subject
He can already feel a headache settling in.
By the time Unmi does completely stop to check on him, Jae-ha's managed to get halfway through the stack of papers he's been in charge in, wanting to at least double-check everything in case of a mistake. He figures mistakes would just cause Unmi to slow down even more.
He does eventually feel his eyes on him, prompting Jae-ha to look up at him curiously.
no subject
"Getting through it well enough, then?"
no subject
Jae-ha looks over at him.
"I'm amazed you're able to keep doing this for days."
no subject
"Besides, if we do not do it, who will?"
no subject
He resumes sorting out the papers.
"Since you've been around for so long, are there any special tips you can give to a new shinki like me? I know that shinki spells are important, but it seems like the workload for each god differs greatly."
no subject
He pauses for a moment, squinting at his screen and quickly fixing something. "But a god of combat, such as Bishamon, has very different requirements of her shinki than a god of commerce, as such as the young master, has, although I suppose the two of them are similar in some ways. Understanding your god's domain and personality will ultimately help you understand what your tasks should be, if they're not certain themselves." These new gods are, well, new after all. Things like that may take a bit for them to understand.
no subject
So, how would that also affect Yona?
"I never thought about it that way."
no subject
A pause, and he chuckles. "Including spells. Speaking of, while we're on the subject, have you thought about what type you're interested in learning first...?"
no subject
"I've heard about some interesting spells, but I figured the basics couldn't hurt? Maybe a spell such as Silence or Bind would be a great start."
He wants to take a look into song spells, but Jae-ha thinks learning those spells would help in a long way.
no subject
"We can start with Bind, then, and, if you show some good progress with it, we can start learning Silence alongside it. It depends on how well you take to the lessons."
