Who: Rasu & Obi
When: January 10th
Where: Greater Helsinki metro area, Finland
What: Prayer 43, Taking care of some stray animals.
[ Obi isn't Rasu's shinki, but they get along... sort of well? And Rasu needs to be social. This, however, is more of a coincidence than on purpose, he heard the prayer and immediately went to find the little critters. He's not used to the prayers and granting them at all yet, but he'll try. He even brought a toy or two on top of the cat food because he's a sucker.
And then there's Obi, for some reason he hasn't figured out yet, with him. ]
Um, d-did you want to come t-too?
[ A little late to ask at this point, they're already there, the sun partially out even as the rain fell from the clouds. ]

The fact that he had brought some leftover meat that he had intended to cook over a fire in a forest somewhere might be a useful other reason; he doesn't mind sharing and starving is the worst.
His hands are folded behind his head, and he peers over at the taller man with a quizzical look on his face. ]
I don't think I would have come if I didn't, Mister Rasu. And I did invite myself.
[ Eventually Rasu will learn that Obi even invites himself into other people's temples. ]

He gets distracted by a gigantic fake carrot outside a craft store for a second. Cute... but then he reminds himself to focus. ]
Ah, um, I guess you're r-right... I mean, um, of, of course you are, you know wh-what you want much better than I d-do.
[ Aw, he feels kind of stupid now. He probably should have shut his mouth. ]
I th-think some of them are ar-around h-here.
[ They should be, according to the prayer, but it's only the first stop out of a few so far. ]
no subject
Thanks, that's good of you to say.
[ So it may have been a strange thing to say but Obi happens to have been told the exact opposite, so he does appreciate it.
He cocks his head to the side to listen more closely. He hears people speaking in a language he doesn't understand a word of (it sounds amusing and he wants to learn it- but he needs to learn the Japanese bit first, before getting invested in another language), he hears a flutter of wings for a moment, he hears light movements in the snow, he hears a sound that's something like a half-meow. ]
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are some this way.
[ Obi is just as much a stray animal as the actual stray animals. His instincts goes a long way and his skills only enhances that. ]

Ah, s-sure.
[ Not knowing your past or anything doesn't mean you can't know your opinions on things. So it's kind of a given, people can still have personalities even if they don't remember their pasts.
Rasu doesn't know Finnish either, but he's made sure to at least learn how to say hi so he can greet the animals. Also, thank you and sorry, because that's useful even if he's not noticeable to most people in this world. ]
Ah. Y-yes.
[ And then they find a group of cats. There are other animals in other places that he's got food for too, but they got to the cats first in the end.
And seeds for the birds, because he always carry that or a good snack anyway.
Rasu pulls the cat food out along wit the seeds. ]
D-do you have anything to f-feed them with t-too or do you, um, w-want to give some of th-this?
[ He'll share if you want. ]

But that doesn't mean that he understand this whole, giant fake carrot thing. Animal toys or dolls make more sense.
Obi opens up the flap on one of the pouches as he crouches down to the cold, wet and snowy street, and parchment paper crinkles. ]
Don't worry, I always have some food with me that I can share.
[ Rasu may not give off an animal kind of air but Obi generally comes off as a friend to any animal as long as he's not giving off any killing intent, so there is already a brave, scrawny little cat moving forward to see what is hidden within the folds of crisp paper. ]

Honestly, while some people find him threatening sometimes, due to his normal facial expressions, animals don't really see him as a threat. These ones would probably have went on as usual had he not had food for them.
He opens a couple of cans and pulls actual saucers out of his pocket that he can put the food on. It's easier to share that way, it's totally not weird. Right? ]
O-okay. That's, g-good.
[ Some of the cats go for the saucers, while the rest go for Obi's hands.
Rasu looks down at the animals with a smile. ]
H-hi, are you hungry? I'm glad someone's usually around to f-feed you.

One cat is already trying to practically climb into Obi's parcel of leftover meat, and Obi's mostly focusing on the animals and not the god (though he never would completely lose track of a person), half-whispering at them and chuckling softly. ]
Don't be in too much of a hurry little misters and little misses, you might bite yourselves. There's no rush.
[ Obi's animal side is showing by making them try to crawl on him. He's a climbing pole carrying morsels of food for them. ]
no subject
Rasu keeps talking (more like cooing, mostly) to the animals, not paying much attention to Obi either. And well, he does not have the skills that the shinki does in keeping track on others, so he doesn't really know what he's doing without looking.
After a while he glances over to look at how it's going for the other, and he giggles at the sight of cats climbing him like a tree. ]
Th-they really l-like... you.
no subject
Obi smiles at the work he's wrapped up into. ]
It seems I have a talent for getting along with animals.
no subject
Th-that's a very good t-talent to h-have, I think.
[ A cat that's done eating comes to lick at Rasu's fingers and stroke its head against them. ]
no subject
I think so too, it means I'll always have a few friends wherever I go.
[ This whole friend thing is complicated, but with animals it's less so. ]
no subject
The other cats are mostly feral, so they won't come that close to Rasu, but they seem relaxed enough. Probably because spirits are different than humans, and he's not intimidating. Only one of them lets him pet them more than a few times. ]
That's really n-nice. F-friends are nice, animal friends are s-special.
[ He can count on one hand how many friends he has in his world, he definitely knows how complicated friends can be. ]
no subject
Obi hums contentedly, as he lets some cats lick animal fat off of his fingers. ]
Were there more in other places here?
[ Obviously there are, but he means that the prayer related to. ]
no subject
O-one more p-p-place.
no subject
Alright, is it supposed to be near or far from here?
[ He'll probably drop by here again to keep an eye out for the cats. ]
no subject
N-not far, just a couple k-kilometres.
[ It's a little over two km away. ]
no subject
So it'd be an easy run, then.
[ Way easier if he was alone or- oh! or if he carried Rasu. ]
no subject
Y-yes, r-running!
no subject
After you then, Mister.
[ He'll pack up the food he has left.....and needs to detach from all the animals that are climbing on him by now. ]
Uh... In a minute or two...
no subject
Um, d-d-d-do you want, um, h-help?
no subject
Yeah, some help would probably be good, honestly.
no subject
[ With fingers as careful as he can make them he plucks a few of the kittens off Obi's legs, and puts them down. Together they should be fast enough to get it done. ]
