When: After the Dream Event
Where: Far Shore: Western District, but will affect other districts as well
What: Due to a bad luck charm, Gohan's found himself transformed into a giant ape. More details here.
Rampaging Ape
It was only a peaceful day in the Far Shore, even after the recent events from the dreams that seemed to have. Unfortunately, that peace seems to be disturbed by heavy tremors that shake the ground. It’s enough to cause the crows to take flight, perhaps sensing an impending doom that have yet to reach others. This can be especially felt in the Western District.
But it’s very hard to miss a giant ape roaring into the sky. Its heavy footsteps shakes the ground, almost threatening to crack it. The ape releases another roar before it suddenly fires several blasts from its mouth that travels fairly far, destroying just about any building or mountain that stands in its path. The ape roars as it seems to head towards nowhere, but moving along through the Western District and towards to the Central. Anyone that seems to possess any kind of strength is zeroed in immediately and is having a ki blast fired at them.
Rescue
If you’re not fighting the raging ape, then perhaps you’ll be interested in the rescue endeavors! With buildings and mountains collapsing, there may be people in need of saving.
Just try to avoid the rampaging ape if you can.

[The tremors are already enough to send Bakugou running out of his temple, trying to get a sense for what's going on. He'd thought that, probably not being able to see anything from the street, that he might need to blast himself up onto a rooftop to get a better view...
But it turns out to not be necessary.
The apelike monster can be seen from the ground - practically from anywhere in the district, at its size. It reminds Bakugou of Mt. Lady...although, of course, she'd been a hero. She hadn't destroyed things when she'd been at giant size.
She'd also never shot blasts of destructive energy from her mouth, come to that.]
Fuck. [Bakugou's curse is an almost awed whisper. Has he fought dangerous opponents who were bent on killing him before? Sure. But this...this will definitely be the biggest.
Because Bakugou's already decided he's going to fight it. He has to. He's not sure who else can do something about this situation, and he certainly can't leave something this massive and dangerous to the hope that someone else can do something. And here in the heavens, he doesn't need a provisional license to intervene.
Being a hero means that when people yell "somebody help!" or "somebody do something!", that somebody is you.]
Evacuation
[Are you in the Western district? Outside your temple, perhaps, or running in to help? Do you look capable, or at least fast? Are you doing anything other than actively fleeing the destruction?
How convenient. Bakugou's been looking for you.
The sound of rapidly approaching explosions precedes a teen flying through the air to land on the roof of a building near you, with yet another explosion just before he lands to slow his momentum a bit. He looks down at you with wild, angry eyes.] Hey you! Make yourself fucking useful and make sure everyone gets out of this district!
(OOC: Bakugou's not necessarily stopping to make conversation, so you don't need to tag in here if you don't want to, but feel free to use this prompt if you need an excuse for your character to get involved! Bakugou's prepared to hastily recruit anyone who looks like they could be of assistance. Do note, however, that he'll only be tapping adults.)
Strategic Engagement
[By now, Bakugou's engaged the monstrous Gohan. If you've been observing, you may have noted that, while both sides are impressive and clearly dangerous, neither one appears to really be getting anywhere fighting each other.
The danger Gohan represents is obvious enough; the massive size, the carelessness for who or what he might smash, the occasional chi blast from his mouth. But his size makes him slow, relative to anything much smaller than him - especially if whatever small target he's aiming for is exceptionally mobile, like Bakugou is. And while Bakugou may not be making any headway, he does seem to be keeping Gohan more or less within areas he's already destroyed, rather than branching out to any still-intact areas. And as Gohan's target is almost constantly airborne, his chi blasts are mostly shooting off into empty air rather than devastating anything on the ground.
Bakugou, meanwhile, is definitely showing the fruits of his hero training. Between his new ability as a god to fly and his already-honed technique of propelling himself through the air with his quirk, Bakugou's able to make himself as difficult for Gohan to swat as a fruit fly would be to a human - more so, really, since no fruit fly can think or move as strategically as Bakugou is. He also keeps hitting Gohan with explosions that would cause massive damage to smaller targets...but against something Gohan's size, they're just not that effective. Oh, Bakugou can singe him, perhaps discourage him from lashing out in this or that direction with a punishing sting, but he's not doing any significant damage - certainly not enough to slow Gohan down any. At best, Bakugou is stalling him, distracting him from more vulnerable targets and further property damage.
Every now and then, when Bakugou is being particularly pressed, he'll let off a stunning flash of light which blinds Gohan temporarily, letting himself regroup. One of those moments has just happened, letting Bakugou land on the ground to catch his breath for a moment.
It's pretty clear that David and Goliath have reached a stalemate. Do you want to offer suggestions? Encouragement? Assistance? Better grab Bakugou's attention while you can; he's a busy boy.]
Incident Resolution - Locked to Zhao, Goku
not that one, and Gohan[The fight hasn't been going on that long, from an outside perspective - only an hour - but it feels like a lifetime to Bakugou. His explosions only get more intense with exertion - they're sweat-based, after all, so the more he sweats the stronger they get - but it's not like he can manage them forever. Exertion also tires him, after all. And eventually his body's going to run out of moisture to give him, if he doesn't re-hydrate. This kind of performance simply can't be maintained forever; his limbs are already starting to shake with exhaustion.
At least by now, he reflects, everyone in the Western district must have cleared out. Either thanks to whatever evacuation efforts were happening, or simply from pure fear and common sense. So he's done that much - kept any casualties to a minimum. At this point all he's preventing is property damage. He doesn't want to have to pull back without stopping the monster, doesn't want to have to admit he can't do it, but...he's running out of energy.]
Dammit! [For all his exhaustion, his roar is as loud as ever - if hoarse.] The fuck does it take to stop this thing?!
Initial Response
The second -- they're not earthquakes, they feel more like footsteps -- has him bolting out on Bakugou's heels. He skids to a stop, staring up at the immense creature stomping through the Western District, and finds himself very briefly speechless.
Bakugou's Fuck sums it up.]
What the fuck is that?
[And how are they supposed to fight it?!]
no subject
Because he has to do something. The monster's wrecking the district, and people live here. Their own temple is here. Even if heroism wasn't enough to move Bakugou, self-interest would demand he do what he can.
He looks over at Zhao, voice urgent and harried.]
You need to help evacuate the district, all right? Direct people away from the thing - not like that'll be hard - and make sure everyone gets out. If those white-robed fucks show up, they're probably gonna be organizing that shit themselves, work with them. I'll try and hold it where it is, keep it distracted.
no subject
He's not, Zhao reminds himself sharply, the boss here. Bakugou's powers are significant, but he's not convinced something that size is even going to notice them. And if the local authorities figure out what's going on, it's true, they are probably going to start running an evacuation, meaning Zhao'll be able to turn the "run, you idiots" duties over to them and get back here.
Hopefully before this kid gets himself squashed like a bug. His jaw works for a moment, and then sets.]
-- Fine. You've got a point, but I'm getting back here as fast as I can, because you shouldn't be doing that unarmed.

Incident Resolution
What do ya even want- [ The attention-grabbing tactic of the moment is climbing up the monkey's back, grabbing on tight to the fur behind his ear, and holding on for dear life. At least this is better than trying to keep up on the ground. ] You're not eatin' anyone, you're not lookin' for anyone, you're not- goin' anywhere- [ Ugh, this is tough. ]
Quit wreckin' stuff!

[Zhao is still developing his identity as shinki, but it's already clear it's going to include a lot of back-seat driving. Sure, Bakugou needs a weapon in a fight like this one. Sure, his abilities in his regular shape are limited to decent aim, good looks and a borderline that still has a nasty tendency to fizzle.
This doesn't mean he's any less frustrated over the fact that, in a fight like this, he can't get right in there and mix it up with Godzillape.]

Releasing another echoing roar, the ape reaches for Goku, intent on planning to crush the tiny god with its hand. Its movements seems to stumble a bit before it notices another insect trying to come its way. Jaws opening wide, it forms another chi blast that's quickly expelled in Bakugou's direction.]

Skipping Gohan in the turn order now since he's been dropped
strategic engagement
The boy's doing well, keeping the ape contained in places it's already wrecked, and whatever he's doing to cause those explosions is certainly a good thing. But he's wasting too much energy and his attacks are too scattered to make much difference.
When the boy drops down to land near her, Petra steps forward, words of advice pouring out of her mouth immediately. Where this knowledge comes from, she doesn't know but the situation's much too urgent to question it.]
Try focusing your fire on its shoulders! If you damage the tendons and muscles there, it can't raise its arms! If you use the smoke from your explosions, you can hide and blindside it!
[Whatever trick he used just now works, too, but he needs to conserve his resources or he'll wear himself out.]
And it'll have a weakpoint! Blow up the nape of its neck first! You have to get in much closer than you are to kill it! Use its own body to your advantage!
no subject
To a degree, anyway. Some of the woman's advice isn't anything like what a pro would tell him to do. The sidelong look he shoots her is less hostile than it could be, considering his usual attitude, but it's somewhere between startled and skeptical.]
Who says I'm trying to kill it? We don't even fucking know what it is. That could be a person. [Where Bakugou comes from, it'd definitely be a human; people have had gigantification quirks before this. And until Bakugou knows it's just a dumb, dangerous animal that needs to be put down, he's not going to even attempt for any kind of killing blow.
The recommendation about trying to damage its shoulders could be useful, though. He files that one away. But...] Dunno if I can make my blasts powerful enough to fuck it up; it spreads the damage out too much. I can do precise shots, but I'd need to know exactly where to hit. [And Bakugou knows something about anatomy, but the exact spot to hit to damage the tendons in a shoulder? On a giant ape that's not going to stand still for it? That's a tall order.]

When the ape begins his rampage, Raichi feels like he should be doing something to try and stop it, but it becomes very apparent very quickly that this particular challenge is laughably far outside of his abilities to tackle. If possible, he'd see about partnering up with his god to having some kind of fighting chance against a threat like this one.
Double alas, it's his god causing the problem in the first place.
Raichi's doing his best to try and tail Gohan without being spotted, or at least diving out of harm's way whenever it looks like he's about to be collateral damage. What can he really do in a situation like this...? Warn others, seek help, maybe offer his own personal assistance to someone who needs it and can use it?
"H-hey!!" Anyone close by who's lingering around the scene of the havoc is likely to be called out to. "Can - kahaha! Can you do something??"
Help...ful.

"I am doing something. I'm looking for anyone who might be injured in the rubble."
She hasn't found anyone so far but that doesn't mean that she won't if this keeps going on. But that's not the only thing Petra's doing; she's looking for information to pass on to any fighters she might come across, too.
"Do you know anything about this? About what's happening right now?"
Her tone's casual and friendly enough, if very carefully even, as she points to the rampaging ape up ahead. It hasn't tried to consume anyone from what Petra's seen and that's made it easier to keep her fear under control.
no subject
Her steady demeanor is really, really impressive, though! He's kind of in awe over it, for maybe a fraction of a second, before he registers what exactly she asked him. Raichi, for his part, is far from grounded, shaking from both panic and exertion while still interrupting his own thoughts with short barks of anxious laughter.
"Th-that's..." Kahaha! "That's... my god?"
Is that an insightful piece of information to have? We'll see.
no subject
"It is? What's your god's name? Has this ever happened before?"
Petra doesn't remember reading anything about any giant ape rampages in the information Ginia had given her. Could it have happened off the record?

Unfortunately, he’s quick to realize that the chaos seems to have come from where Raichi’s temple is located, and while Sanada has never met his god personally he’s pretty sure that Raichi’s in good, safe hands. If there’s something that could break through the mountains Raichi had boasted about a while back, well…
It can’t be any good. And so, without even consulting his god, Sanada immediately and very stupidly rushes outside, because if there’s one thing that’d make him forget that he’s nigh-on useless in an actual fight, it’s the fact that a teammate might be in danger.
He’d been sprinting in the direction of Raichi’s temple before he’s called out, skidding to a stop at the sound of a familiar voice.
“What—Raichi?” And then comes that surge of relief—“You’re okay!”

"Sanada!!" Oh thank god "I have no idea why this is happening!!!"
What is he supposed to do right now?!

Because Gohan is on a rampage and doesn't seem attempting to stop any time soon. Nearby buildings or mountains immediately gets destroyed by a blast and the ground trembles with every step that he takes.

"H-hey! Gohan! GOHAN!" Any time he manages to catch up with a few seconds to spare before the beast moves on, he cups his hands around his mouth to shout out to him with all his might.

Then a person he's never met before speaks to him and Aymeric has no time to ponder on possibilities.
"I will assist but I need to know what is going on first."

When Aymeric seems willing to lend a hand, that's honestly already a huge relief for Raichi's worries. As for what's going on, he can't... really explain much, other than pointing toward the path of carnage and offering up a pretty simple explanation:
"That... that's my god?"
It's. Complicated.

OTA
Her dash turns into a running leap to clear the stones coming down. She's small and agile, the lightness of shinki bodies lends itself well to a woman who's far more comfortable with airborne maneuvers than most ordinary humans are. But this is also her first time discovering the jumping capabilities she has so she overdoes it, barely having enough to time to roll into the fall against the wall of another building.
There's no time to waste being dazed. Petra pulls herself together and gets back on her feet. Logically, she should run. The ape is huge; she's tiny even when compared to most humans. Yet something is compelling Petra to stay, to control her fear and not let it overcome her. Petra might not be the only one in danger. People need to be evacuated, wounds will need tending and any fighters she comes across will need any information she can give them.
Petra can be found following anywhere in the trail of destruction the ape leaves behind. When she isn't observing the ape fights from a safer distance to gather as much information as she can to pass on to other fighters, she's checking the debris for any wounded in need of aid. Petra may not be able to do much but she's determined to do all that she can until this crisis ends.]

Instead, he keeps moving forward. His animalistic mind is only focused to Destroy, destroy, destroy. Various chi blasts are blasted, anything kind of structure that gets in its way will be stomped on and trampled. Or is met with a giant fist that causes a shockwave of sort.]
no subject
The shockwaves keep her busy, the vibrations from the stomping still managing to upset her balance despite her caution. More debris keeps raining down, forcing her to stay in open areas to avoid being hit or crushed by it.
When Petra has a chance to observe the ape again, she begins looking it over more carefully for any potential weakpoints or blindspots that stand out.]
