So, Roxas, are you ready to tackle this?

[ Shiro, if he says so himself, is pretty okay with kids. He definitely has the patience for them! And with Roxas by his side, he's pretty confident about their success in this prayer. ]

Have you ever taken care of kids before?

[missingache]

Yes! [Even though Roxas feels out of his element.]

Only Nanako when she was sick. Does that count?

[galrarm]

Sick kids are a little different from healthy, energetic kids.

[missingache]

Oh. [Shaking his head.] I don't know what I'm doing then.

[galrarm]

[ He chuckles and shakes his head. ]

Luckily, I know a thing or two. Don't worry. I've got your back, Roxas.

[missingache]

[He nods at that and decides to place his trust in Shiro.]

Okay. So what do we do?

[galrarm]

First, we should go meet the kids. Introduce ourselves.

[missingache]

Wait... can the kids even see us?

[galrarm]

If we draw attention to ourselves, they should.

[missingache]

[Nod nod nod]

How should we do that? Yelling?

[ Well. The kids are being loud and unruly... Shiro clears his throat and calls out, ]

Hey, kids! If you don't settle down, we won't tell an exciting story!

[ ... which gets their attention. Wow. ]

[missingache]

[He blinks at how fast they settle down. Impressive!]

Yeah! It's a really good story!

[ He's glad Roxas catches on quickly! And the kids definitely seem interested, and they murmur amongst themselves. Shiro smiles and sits in front of them--cross-legged, naturally. ]

Alright. Roxas, do you want to start, or should I?

KEITH: prayer 16

[galrarm]

[ Ah..... this prayer seems perfect for them, really. Finding a dog for a worried owner? Shiro is definitely down for that. And with Keith along, he's sure any lost dog they come across will be more than happy to follow them. ]

I hope C-- your wolf isn't too upset that you're spending time with another dog.

[ He'd almost called him Cosmo..... oops. ]

[yousaytron]

[Okay someone has to spill the beans on Cosmo sooner or later.]

He's fine with all the cats, so I doubt he'll have too much of a problem with it. [Maybe, at worst, Keith will have to spend some extra time with him when they get back, which is the opposite of a problem.] What's the name of the dog we're looking for, anyway?

[galrarm]

[ Listen..... perhaps... ]

Glad to hear it. He's a good boy, so I'm not surprised. [ Shiro looks at the flier. ] Patches.

[yousaytron]

[He is a good boy! The best boy!! Too bad they didn't bring him with them to help sniff out their target, but having a bizarrely colored, warping wolf on the Near Shore is bound to raise questions and/or panic among the mortals. So, at the temple he stays.

Keith peeks over Shiro's shoulder to get a look at the flier-] Patches it is. [And the dog went missing in this area, right? So, with any luck, it won't be too hard for them to find.] Do you want to split up to look?

[galrarm]

That'd be the most efficient way to search. Let's meet back here in twenty minutes?

[yousaytron]

You got it.

[They'll cover more ground that way! It's an excellent plan.]

I'll send you a message if something comes up before then.

[galrarm]

[And, with that, he parts with a wave, jogging off to search one side of the neighborhood while leaving Shiro to cover the other half.

He's sure that the tactic of hitting the streets and calling out to the dog, 'Paaaatches!' is something the owner has done on their own, but with the lower chance of being spotted afforded by 'Far Shore Resident' status offers him, he doesn't feel quite so shy about being particularly loud about it. A dog with a home is probably going to want to stick to areas with people, right? So in other yards, places with lots of foot traffic, around the back of businesses are all spots that are worth checking out, he figures, and around the time that the 20 minute mark draws near, Keith finds himself drawn to an alleyway behind a restaurant, led by the faint scratching and snuffling sounds of something small moving about.]

Patches...?

[He gets a low, soft whine in response, which he approaches, and - ]

Aha! [there you are!] C'mon, you, let's get you home.

[And, while he's talking to the dog, he's pulling out his phone to send Shiro a message,] Behind the [What was this building? Let's check...] Taco Bell/Pizza Hut [That's that then.]

[galrarm]

[ Meanwhile, Shiro is... finding a few dogs and cats, but nothing that looks like Patches. He is enjoying the fact that one of the cats has decided to perch on his shoulder, while some of the dogs trail behind him? He guesses he gives off an aura of calm and reliability; it's something he prides himself on, after all.

And then his phone buzzes, and he pulls it out. ]

Good job, Keith.

[ He bids his little entourage a goodbye, then sends Keith a message-- ] I'll be right there. [ --before he heads off in the direction Keith took off to. And sure enough, when he joins Keith, he has the dog safe and sound. ]

I'm glad you found him. You had much better luck than I did.

[Oh.... Real Disney Princess Shiro.]

Yeah, but... I think there's something wrong.

[It wasn't so much a matter of Keith keeping the dog in one spot until Shiro reached them, but more that he couldn't really convince the dog to leave the alleyway. Their target isn't exactly hostile toward them, but it seems like he's guarding the passage, trying to stop anyone from going further in while turning back toward the darkness and offering up small warning growls every so often.]

I... think there's something down there.

[ ... hm. Shiro frowns as he comes over, and he kneels down to hold his hand out for the pup to sniff. ]

Hey there, boy. Can you let us on through? We can check out what's freaking you out.

[yousaytron]

[The dog pulls his ears back as Shiro holds out his hand, tense, but still not hostile. The hand is sniffed briefly, and after a moment of deliberation, the dog turns around and makes his way into the alley, as if to guide the two of them further in.]

I think he wants us to follow him. [Come on, let's go Shiro.] Stick close to me, just in case.
