[Closed] Job-hunting!
Who: Yuya and Yuto
What: Prayer #11
When: April 11
Where: Yuya's temple
Warnings: Noneat the moment?
[Their first mission... or at least this is their first mission with Yuya being a god. In comparison to the one that Yuto took part in when Vector was his god, this one is incredibly quiet. They don't have to fight anything, or take care of any children. The person wished to find a job and so, right now, Yuto and Yuya are both at the temple, with Yuya searching the internet.
Yuto watches him for a long moment before he finally speaks:]
Do you really think this will be enough?
[Searching the net is something everybody can do, right? The person who wanted help probably searched it countless of times by now. Probably.
Yuto sighs a little.] We should try to look outside, too. Somebody out there has to be hiring.

Yuto sighs a little.] We should try to look outside, too. Somebody out there has to be hiring.

...But you're right. [He sits up and stretches his arms out with a yawn.] Sunlight would be nice right about now, and maybe we can go beat up some ayakashi in the meantime. While looking for hiring signs, of course.
[Yuya then offers his hand to Yuto, ready to teleport them to the Near shore.] Pick a place.
no subject
Just don't forget about our main goal and don't get distracted by small ayakashi, okay?
[He sighs a little then he takes Yuya's hand.]
We should start from shopping district.
no subject
He doesn't have to answer though because Yuya's stomach growls loudly, disrupting that thought process--]
Nope, we're gonna go eat something yummy first! [And POOF, they're standing in front of a curry restaurant. So much for getting Yuto's opinion. Although Yuya does have to pause and take some quick photos with his phone. Then back to draggin Yuto inside:]
How about curry, huh? I found this place while exploring awhile ago and thought you'd like it.
no subject
Does my opinion even matter to you? [It doesn't look like it.
Yuto obviously would rather to take care of the mission first, but he sighs.] But fine. If you're this hungry we'll eat and then go back to work as fast as possible.
[But something else in what Yuya has just said catches Yuto's attention.]
...But why did you think I'd like it here?
no subject
Hahaa, that's a surprise! It wouldn't be fun if I gave it away right to begin with. [Not to dawdle, Yuya heads over to the serving counter. It takes a few rings of the bell to get the server's attention, but he's quick to give his order with a smile-- two orders of what he remembers to be Yuto's favorite type of curry, two waters, and one order of shrimp tempura for here. No, he doesn't ask Yuto first if he wants anything else before he finishes up with a credit card for payment. Worst god ever.
Aaaaaaaannnnnddddd now he's ushering Yuto to a table.]
You can make a guess though! Three tries, no hints.
no subject
Pats on the back do not help and neither does the fact that Yuya doesn't bother to ask what Yuto wants. And so Yuto's expression gets more grumpy with every second. Once he sits down he stares at Yuya for a moment and crosses his arms over his chest.]
You ignore my opinion yet you want me to play along and guess with absolutely no hints? [Yuto shakes his head and sighs.] ...I'm not even sure I really want to know what you're planning.
[Can you hear all this doubt in his voice?]
no subject
And Yuya doesn't need to hear Yuto's voice because he can feel the prickling on the back of his neck. There's a very subtle wince, but Yuya plays it off with a smile.]
It's not so much of a plan as it is having fun. However, our definition of 'fun' is really different, so I'm just playing my cards right. You gotta read into my intention, not the performance. [Just a helpful tip in understanding your god. Yuya waves his hand, and a deck of playing cards appears. He cuts and shuffles idly as he sits back.]
But let's cut out the guessing game 'cause I'm sure you'll figure it out by the time we leave. There's something more important than food or prayers-- have you talked to Shun yet?
no subject
Hearing Yuya's explanation makes him tilt his head ever so slightly in confusion, then he unfolds his arms. Even though Yuya isn't listening to him, Yuto can't believe the other would have bad intentions.
It's only then when he truly begins to wonder what made this place different from other restaurants, but his thoughts are soon interrupted when Yuya asks that question.]
...Yes. I've met him at school during the investigation. [He frowns looking at Yuya with hope and worry.] He said he was my friend in the past. Was he telling the truth?
no subject
Who knows. We never shared memories while you were with me, and I don't remember my own past. So I can't confirm whether or not it's the truth.
[Although, that's only considering that Yuto may be from an alternate timeline. He's not quite sure where he's shinki stands in their reality, but he certainly knows that Shun is not the same duelist that they had met. So as far as he knows, Shun's Yuto could have been his friend.
Which is the only reason why the heavy mood Yuya carries dissipates with a mild smile.]
It's fine if you try to be friends with him now though. Maybe you'll find a lot of things you both like. [Even if he has a bad feeling about what may come from it. It's almost scary to think that Yuto was never his to begin with. Yet, it's still Yuto...]
no subject
Yuto sighs a little, then nods.]
...I'll try talking to him again.
[Maybe now, when Yuto knows at least a little from his past Shun would tell him something more? Who knows, but he guesses it's worth trying.
But this is the end of this topic. Yuto falls silent and looks around wondering how much longer it will take.]
...It'd be better if we go back to work as soon as possible.
no subject
Don't worry about it. I still have all the job search sites to email, and I already took photos of some flyers.
[Remember when he pulled out his camera when they first arrived? Yup. He's got things covered. And speaking of timing, here comes their curry and shrimp. The waitress quickly sets the meals down, and Yuya winks at his shinki:]
There's no rush, so don't burn your mouth.
no subject
...You did think of everything, didn't you?
[Though, Yuto would like to do something already. So far it feels like he's leaving everything to Yuya. But the order comes and Yuto gives in. For now.
He looks at Yuya, then tries the curry. To his surprise, it's good - no, actually he finds out that he really likes this taste. Yuto stares a bit at his meal, then he looks again at Yuya and suddenly everything clicks.]
...You knew I would like it.
no subject
[Because you gotta be prepared for anything when you're a wanted person. The habits still apply even now. And while Yuto's trying out the curry, Yuya's quick to stuff a tempura shrimp in his mouth after he puts his cards away.]
You got that right. There's no way I would forget your favorite! [Dat cheeky grin though.]
no subject
[He'll never doubt you again. Maybe.
At the last part Yuto stares down at his plate. So this is his favorite... It really feels like Yuya knows more about him than he knows about himself. It's strange.
And then Yuto tilts his head a little. Something's not right here.]
...But how do you know it's my favorite food? You said I was a spirit...
[And spirits don't eat, right?]
no subject
You guys were spirits, yeah, but all three of you were able to possess my body. So you'd fight over what I should eat with rock-paper-scissors when I wasn't stuck underground and eating preserved food. Then you'd all have turns taking control-- I don't really miss that part.
[Just like how they are now with their temple! Which explains why Yuya doesn't always go out to explore the near shore. However, his expression softens into something bittersweet as he mixes the rice into his curry.]
But a lot of our teamwork was us switching out. So whenever one of us had trouble, we'd switch and that'd usually change the playing field. It'd be a lot of fun! ...So I'm not really used to being on my own.
no subject
...I can't imagine myself doing something like that. [Possessing someone to just be able to taste food sounds kind of... extreme. But then he hears how Yuya explains about them switching, hears him say that he isn't used to being on his own and Yuto's expression changes into concern.]
...Does it feel... lonely? [He pauses for a few seconds then continues:] Even when I'm with you?
[After all, everything is so much different for Yuya now. He probably misses the other two a lot and seeing as Yuto doesn't remember anything from the past... Yuto just wonders what is Yuya feeling right now.
Is there anything he can do for him?]
no subject
Not really, but it's not like I don't miss Yuri and Yugo either. They had a habit of going quiet recently, so I'm kind of used to it just being the two of us.
[...It's a partial lie. The physical and mental separation between them feels more like a giant rift. He may be able to feel Yuto's feelings, but it's barely anything compared to before. Yet, Yuto really deserves his own body.]
no subject
...Are you telling the truth?
[The irritating part in all of this is that Yuya as a god can feel his feelings, but Yuto has no way of knowing how Yuya truly feels. Unless Yuya tells him, that is.]
no subject
Yeah...somewhat. [He's never felt the need to hide so much from his alternate to begin with, which is why it's a struggle to keep his mouth shut. If it were Yuzu or her dad, it would be a breeze, but thinking about his every word around Yuto is surprisingly difficult.]
The truth is just...sad, I guess. It's better to only focus on the bright side, right?
no subject
He frowns again and sighs.]
...Even if it's sad, I want you to tell me how you really feel. [How else is he supposed to know if something is wrong or if there's something he can do about it?
Besides, he... wants to understand Yuya better.
He looks down at his plate and mutters:] You know so much about me, but I don't know much about you... I don't remember anything from the past. [That's sad, too.]
no subject
[EVEN IF HE REALLY DOESN'T WANT TO. He knows Yuto will just get sad, but he gets where he's coming from. He doesn't want to be the one to make him upset though.
This sucks.]
no subject
And once everything will be done they can talk.
After he finishes his curry he waits for Yuya in silence.]
no subject
Gimme a second... [Which means Yuto's getting shooed towards the lone couch stuck in Yuya's server room. Luckily he's quick to get everything sorted and attach the pics to an email, and off it goes! He only looks vaguely tired when he turns back to his shinki.]
Alright, you really really really want to know?
no subject
Yuto sits down on the couch and when Yuya turns back to him, Yuto gives the other a long look, before he nods firmly.]
Yes.
[Even if he regrets it later.]
no subject
I guess it can't be helped. [He lets out a sigh before walking over to the couch himself and flopping down with his face buried in the back cushion so he doesn't have to face his twin.]
Of course it feels lonely! Even with you. Because you guys aren't a part of me anymore, and you're all I had when I woke up. It's weird being alone with my thoughts...There's good things and bad things about it, but it really feels like I'm missing parts of myself. You, Yugo, and Yuri...even if I had to stay underground a lot and didn't have the time or opportunity to make friends, I was never lonely because you were all with me!
[The muffled noise he lets out is equal parts frustration, embarrassment, and heavyhearted.]
