I was following mummy and daddy, and then I just got lost in the crowd. If there's someone watching over me, could you help me find them? It's scary on my own…

[When Ventus first received the prayer, he didn’t think anything of it. It was normal, but he also didn’t want to go answer this prayer on his own.

Nor did he want to take his shinki with him.

So, he asks the next person he thought would be interested in helping him answer the prayer: Roxas. It took a text message to the other blond, asking if he’d like to help Ventus out with the prayer. It’s how the two of them eventually found themselves on the streets of a busy city.]

I found her!

[He pats Roxas’ shoulder once to get his attention before he nods in the direction of where a young girl is cowering by a bookstore.]

Ice cream makes Roxas perk up. The singing part is cute, too, and his cat is close enough to a dog?]

I don't go to school, but I taught my cat how to fetch. He's as big as a dog! [Not a tiny cat in the least.] I love ice cream. What's your favorite kind?

I love strawberry!

[Yumi smiles brightly at Roxas, swinging their linked hands.]

But I like chocolate, too!

[Ventus grins to himself, listening to them as he looks around.]

[Oh no that's cute! He lets her swing their hands as he nods.]

Strawberry is good, so is chocolate. There's this ice cream called Neapolitan that has strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla all in one! I like spumoni, too. That's pistachio, cherry with nut pieces, and chocolate.

[brokenlight]

[The child practically dances at that.]

That sounds super yummy! I also like kakigori! It's shaved ice and I get to choose what kind of syrup goes on mine!

[missingache]

[Eyes light up at that.]

Shaved ice? I didn't know you could put syrup on ice! I wanna try that!

[brokenlight]

It's super yummy!

[A pause and then Yumi looks up at Ven with wide eyes.]

Ven, Ven! Can we get some shaved ice first, pleeeease?

[Ventus blinks and looks at her. Then he laughs a bit.]

We sure can.

[missingache]

[Roxas looks at Ven expectantly as well.

Then there's a yes and he lets a cheer out.]

Where do we get some? Like a regular ice cream shop or...?

[brokenlight]

[Yumi looks thoughtful.]

Um. Oh! It's in a little shop just around the corner! Daddy takes me there all the time, but he also tells me not to tell mummy.

[She lowers her voice in a whisper, trying to imitate her father.]

"As long as we don't tell Mummy, we can eat all the sweets we want!"

[The god grins.]

Your dad sounds like a fun guy. Do you wanna lead then, Yumi?

[Yumi nods, practically skipping as she leads the two of them to the shop.]

[Not telling her mom? Was eating a lot of sweets bad? Roxas has decided he'll ask Shiro later about it. Because that is the most adult like adult he knows.

He laughs as she imitates her dad.]

I want to meet him if he's fun!

[Which they will. Eventually. After shaved ice.]

[brokenlight]

[Ventus laughs.]

You'd love my dad!

[Yumi squeals, bouncing between them as they get closer to the store.]

I can't wait to meet him then.

[missingache]

Just don't tell him you have shaved ice already if he tries to get you more.

[A little white lie wouldn't hurt anyone, right?

Roxas watches some people walk by with the frozen treat.]

There's different colors.

[brokenlight]

I think they're all different syrups.

[Yumi nods more and leads the two of them into the shop.]

There are all kinds of flavors!

[missingache]

Different colors for each flavor then?

[Roxas is hit by the sweet smells first. It's really nice, and it makes his mouth water.]

I don't know if I can choose...

[brokenlight]

Hmm.

[Ventus looks around at the flavors, leading them closer.]

What kind do you like more, Yumi?

Mm, I usually get strawberry flavor, but I like green apple, too.

[missingache]

[Roxas looks at the flavor board, tapping his chin.]

I kind of want to try a combo. Strawberry and peach?

[brokenlight]

That sounds good! What about you, Ven?

[The god taps his chin.]

I think I'll try out cherry and lemon together.

[missingache]

That sounds really good...

[He looks down at Yumi.]

Why not try the strawberry and green apple together?

[brokenlight]

[Yumi thinks about it, her face scrunched up before she nods.]

Okay!

I'll go order it for us then. You two can pick out a table.

[Just...stick close to each other, okay?]

[missingache]

[Roxas nods at Ven, then leads Yumi over to a table. He picks her up and puts her in a seat, sitting beside her.]

I can't wait...

[brokenlight]

Me either!

[Yumi swings her legs back and forth.]

Roxas, what do you like to do?

[missingache]

[That's a random question...]

I like walking around with my cat, Jellybean. And I like hanging out with my friends like Shiro and Pyrrha. They're really nice. Keith is, too, and he has a really cool dog! And I like trying lots of new food. I don't know a lot about food, so I find new things a lot, like shaved ice.

[brokenlight]

I hope you like the shaved ice then! Food is so great, but I don't like eating veggies.

[She sticks her tongue out in disgust.

Ventus can't help but laugh a bit when he joins the two, placing their shaved ice in front of them.]

[missingache]

I don't like veggies either. Except potatoes. I like potatoes a lot.

[He sticks his tongue out as well.

Then he gasps when he sees the shaved ice.] Those are pretty colors!

[brokenlight]

Dig in then before it melts.

[The god sits across from them and Yumi squeals. She takes the spoon and begins eating it.]

It's super yummy!

[missingache]

[Roxas nods and take his spoon, trying to strawberry side first.]

Is taste like a strawberry candy. [Time to try the peach side and-] O-Ow...
