What: A secret wedding?!


We’re almost there.

[Zoro had been sure to use the gps on his phone for this, taking Niles, after telling him to dress warmly and covering his eye, to the park where they had met all those months ago.

Niles had asked for a surprise, and it had taken nine whole days for Zoro to set it all up, but here they were. He had the rings, a pair matching their engagement ones, tucked into his pocket. He was more nervous about this than Niles’s birthday party, and with good reason.

The officiant Zoro has found was waiting with a small table under the still frozen Sakura tree, with the necessary papers tucked into a folder, all held in place with a couple of cups.

Zoro didn’t see Leo yet but he knew the other would pop up soon, they needed a witness after all. He sighed, stopping just shy of the table, and took Niles’s blindfold off.]

Here we go. Surprise?

[Niles just lets out a heavy, low sigh. Of course that's how it's going to go. Niles said a surprise, and Zoro is going to give him a surprise. He walks along, trying to look back and forth and around to see if he can hear anything.

Nope. Not a damn thing. Zoro has gotten smarter with him.

When he arrives to the place and his blindfold is taken off, he starts looking around, blinking.]

S... Surprise?

[Wait, what? He's looking around. There's another person here.]

What's going on?

This gentleman, [The man in question waves happily at them.] is here to marry us.

[Zoro takes a deep breath and let’s it out, holding onto Niles’s hands.]

Surprise.

[deniles]

...Wait! We're getting married?!

[He looks around, holding onto Zoro's hands. Oh dear god.]

R... really? Right now? That's your surprise?

[wadoichimonji]

Yes.

[Zoro laughs and can’t help but smile.]

You could always run away, I won’t get mad.

[deniles]

...I'm not going to run away.

[He looks at Zoro with a sigh.]

I just wasn't... expecting it. That's why you did it, huh? Cause you knew I wasn't expecting it.

[He plays with Niles’s hands, tapping his fingers against them.]

I love seeing your face when you’re surprised, so our engagement was one and well, had to make sure the wedding matched.

[The officiant lets out a small laugh, covering it up with a cough.]

I see... you just like seeing me all red.

[Which he is right now. Bright red.]

Zoro turns to the officiant, who start the ceremony. The officiant clears his throat and takes a notebook from his jacket’s pocket.]

We are gathered here, not to witness the beginning of what will be, but rather what already is! We do not create this marriage, because marriage is created in the hearts of two loving people. We can and do, however, gather to celebrate with Niles and Zoro the wondrous and joyful occurrence that has already taken place in their lives, and the commitment they make today.

[Zoro is slightly freaking out the more the officiant speaks. He’s holding onto Niles’s hands and looking into his beautiful eye with a nervous smile on his face]

[Niles is so brightly red but with a soft smile on his face. He's equally nervous, but looking at Zoro now, who is nervous, he squeezes his hand.]

Zoro. [He whispers when the man is done.] I'm not going anywhere... We're going to be husbands.

[He smiles his best smile and nods to the officiant, who continues.]

Repeat after me. “Niles, I acknowledge my love and respect for you and invite you to share my life as I hope to share yours.

[Zoro nods, squishing Niles’s hands a bit more.]

[The officiant smiles, looking at them.

Zoro looks at Niles and uses his thumbs to pet his hands.]

Now, please, present the tokens you wish to exchange.

[Zoro lets go of one of Niles's hands, and takes the small box out of his pocket, picking the ring he knows is Niles's, squishing Niles's hand one more time before letting it go.]

Repeat after me; I give you this ring as the symbol of my love.

[Zoro takes Niles's hand, and puts the ring on his finger, right on top of his itching engagement one.]

[Zoro smiles, letting go of Niles's hand, offering the box he still had.]

[The officiant smiles and turns to Niles.]

[Niles looks down at the ring on his finger. It's... beautiful. He almost gets distracted by it before he's given his words. Nodding slowly, he takes the box and pulls the other ring out. It's just as beautiful, and suits Zoro just as well.]

[Sliding it on Zoro's hand.]

[Just letting that out now.]

[Zoro looks at the ring on his finger and smiles. He holds Niles's hands again, watching as his rings stand out on Niles's hand.]

Now, if the witnesses can come closer, the wedding can't finish before the grooms sign the certificate.

[The officiant moves the small table to be in front of Zoro and Niles, and takes out a certificate and two pens.]

I need you to sign on the dotted lines here, [He hands each of them a pen, and Zoro smiles at Niles before signing his name where indicted.] and for the witnesses, I need you to sign your names right here.

[The officiant nods, taking the pen from Zoro, and offering it to one of the other two men present.]

[deniles]

[Niles quickly signs the dotted line himself and then looks around. He smiles towards the witnesses and chuckles lightly.]

I'm glad you both came here.

[He wouldn't want them to not be here to watch this.]

[At least these two were not going to jump through the hoops. To be honest, Aymeric feels honored by being asked to watch the ceremony so he tries his best to do everything as expected.]

[He is the first to take the pen and follows the instructions, signing his name on the line meant for witnesses.]

[Leo is quiet as he follows suit, signing his name with a bit of a flourish.

He then promptly sets the pen aside and pulls Niles into a tight embrace. He's rarely so openly affectionate, but...]

Congratulations, Niles.

[deniles]

[Niles quickly hugs Leo back. And before thinking better of it, he hugs Aymeric too. He could not imagine this without either of them.]

Thank you... both for coming again.

[He smiles at the pair of them before turning back to Zoro.]

[Zoro watches them and lets out a chuckle at Niles hugging the other two.]

Come on now, we have a ceremony to finish!

[The attendant ushers them back to their places, and clears his throat.]

Now, by the power vested in me by this country, I pronounce you married. You may now kiss.

[Zoro smiles, and grabs Niles by the waist, pulling his towards him until their lips touch.]

How does Roronoa Niles sound?

[Niles chuckles as he gets pulled right back into place. After which, when they're finally agreed to be married, he lets himself get swept into Zoro's grip with a happy hum.]

I think that sounds perfect.

[Laughing as he starts to kiss him.]
