[OPEN!] How nice it'd be if we could try everything

Who: Irisviel von Einzbern and YOU!
When: February 22nd through February 28th
Where: Around the Far Shore and Near Shore
What: Exploring the area, spreading some cheer, and getting chased by ayakashi; it's what you expect for a new shinki.

[02/22 - Far Shore - Around Giant’s Grave's]

[Irisviel is on a casual stroll around the grounds of her temple. Her pace is easy-going and casual, but there's a focus to the way she walks too. There's a small wicker basket draped over one arm. Occasionally she stops to mark a rock with a piece of chalk or scratch something into a tree or the ground with a small dagger. Once in awhile, she holds her hand over the marking, a soft glow emanating from it.

Her walk is disrupted as she yelps, her next step taking her into knee-deep water. The mossy bog swirls around her legs, the ripples the only difference between the ground she was standing on and the water she's now in.]

I suppose this is the source of blessed water for the temple.

[Her tone is a little more sour than usual.]

[After her unexpected walk into the bog, Irisviel can be found marking out the perimeter of water source with strips of fabric tied to sticks. Once she's done, her walk around the temple grounds continues, unperturbed by the slight squelch of her boots.]

[Any date - Far Shore - All Districts]

[With the abundance of wildflowers growing around the district, it'd be a true shame to not put them to use. Irisviel, wearing a long white and gold dress, can be found sitting in a field on a blanket, wrapping bundles of flowers with twine or weaving together flower crowns.]

Hello, would you like to help?

[Irisviel can also be found visiting temples directly with a basket full of flower bundles. With so many gods and shinki around, the only way to meet them is to put in some effort. It's also a nice excuse to see the different temples. Don't mind Irisviel as she wanders onto temple grounds in search of the entrance and/or inhabitants of the temple.]

[Any date - Near Shore - Window Shopping]

[The Far Shore is beautiful and impressive enough, but there's even more to see on the Near Shore. Irisviel is wide-eyed and full of joy as she walks along a shopping district, practically glued to the shop windows, though never entering the stores. There's one downside about being a new shinki to a new god; no income. No matter! The joy of exploration is enough! Find Irisviel wandering through shopping areas, strolling through parks, or even visiting shrines, all in the name of exploration.]

[Any date - Near Shore - Ayakashi!]

LINE!

[Irisviel backs away from the barrier, hand still raised in front, as the giant bat-like creature beats against the clear barrier separating them. Its numerous eyes twitch about as it hisses and claws, diving at the barrier. It holds, but its efforts draw more ayakashi in, some on her side of the barrier. They're smaller ayakashi, but they hone in on her.

Run. It's time to run. Irisviel flees the site, fear flooding hot as she tries to put as much distance between the ayakashi and herself as possible. Shrines are safe, where's the nearest one? She cuts through alleys and side streets, slowing to leave borderlines behind her, feeling them break as she moves too far away. But Irisviel can only run so far and as her breath turns ragged and her limbs feel heavy, patches of blight burning from where ayakashi manage to scratch or peck at her.

If running doesn't work, then fighting it is. Irisviel slashes another borderline in front of her and turns to face the ayakashi chasing her. A spell wells in her, survival instincts seizing hold. Slow them down, stop them in their tracks. Plucking hair from her head, she snaps her hand out, channeling energy into the thin strands to make them thicker, stronger, from delicate hair to thin wires.]

Shape Ist Leben!

[Her hand flings out as glowing blue wires snap forward, entangling the ayakashi in a web of wires. It can slow them down, but it won't hold forever nor will it rend them. Now what?]

Oh, I'm positive. These shops- thank you- all have so many interesting things in them.

[Stepping through, something occurs to him, and he laughs softly.]

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Garry.

It's nice to meet you, Garry. I'm Irisviel von Einzbern, but please, call me Irisviel. Or Iri!

[She follows after him. Her hand flies to her mouth and her eyes are bright as she looks around the store.]

Oh, what beautiful clothes!

Oh, what a lovely name!

[It's really quite elegant and lovely one, and seems to quite suit her. At least, from what he's been able to take in of her personality as much as her looks, in perhaps the two minutes that they've known one another.]

[At least she has an appreciation for things like this, and he chuckles behind his hand.]

Aren't they? I've heard good things about this place, from when I've been in other stores.

[She beams at the compliment, already happily sashaying over to the first rack. She's wandered in and out of a few stores, but the variety is so impressive.]

Really? I didn't know this store was reputable. It's truly fortunate we met then. Do you like clothes shopping?

Well, I suppose I do take an interest in it... More clothes themselves than just shopping.

[Feeling a little bit shy, that kind accompanied by flutters of anxiousness, he trails after her.]

Personally, I'm experimenting still with different styles.

What kinds of styles do you like?

[The rack contains an assortment of cardigans and sweater dresses in different colors and a few different knit patterns. Irisviel pulls a dark purple sweater dress with a woven pattern down the front and holds it up to herself.]

What do you think?

Oh- that looks very nice. [He smiles in approval, even as he takes in the whole thing a little further.] The shade manages to balance with your eyes, I think, so it brings them out. If you left your hair loose, it might help frame the pattern...

[That's not even talking about the kinds of accessories she could choose from...]

Anyway, I tended to lean towards something of a grunge fashion before- [Along with what he thinks he'd call "poor man's goth", but he doesn't think that really has a name yet.] -but there are a lot of things I'm interested in...

[Irisviel smiles and lets her hair out of the loose ponytail she's stuck it in. With waist-length hair, keeping it manageable will always be a problem. So maybe it's best to leave it free and look stylish.]

My, perhaps I should ask you to pick a look for me.

[There's the clothing she woke up wearing and they look nice. Finding more of the style would suit her well, but it would be nice to explore other styles.]

I don't think I know much about fashion.

Oh, well... [Garry smiles a little bit, quietly pleased at the slight compliment.] I certainly wouldn't mind introducing you to a few things.

But... I find that it's much more interesting and genuine to let people figure out their clothing themselves. [His hands press together.] It says a lot about people, in a lot of ways. I mean, I can't say this like I'm some sort of Sherlock Holmes-

[~~Garry, no, that's a real Fates~~]

-but it definitely lets you have an idea of their priorities, and... I guess how they want to look? For example, comfort over something extravagant, or trendy in contrast to something quite out there...

So I'll be glad suggest things, but I think it'd be nicer if you just followed your intuition on anything that catches your own interest. If that makes sense?

[With so little else to work with, there can only be intuition. Irisviel nods happily, considering the sweater dress for a little longer before putting it back on the rack for now. It's a very cute dress, but there's still so much to see.]

I should find something with pockets...perhaps a coat would be good.

[With only the clothes on her back - and the strange dress found in the glove box of the car - she's certainly in need of warmer clothes. She heads over to a selection stylish coats, fingers feeling the soft lining.]

Have you been here for very long, Garry?

Oh, you know, I'm actually certain of a boutique that sells dresses with very reliable pockets in them...

[It's one of those things that Garry keeps an eye out for. As much as he adores so much of the creativity that it feels like women get a lot more in their fashion, he has to admit that creativity towards, you know, practical things sometimes seem to take a backseat in this industry. (He knows why, but, still.) Thus, anything that seems useful or practical while still fashionable... He makes sure to keep in mind. Trailing behind her, he looks off towards the opposite end of the store where some lovely shirts are.]

Oh, I've been here for a couple of months now. I think perhaps even over half a year, if you could believe it.

Over half a year? My, I think that makes you one of the ones I've met that's been here the longest.

[Irisviel continues to browse through the racks of clothes, occasionally pulling things to hold against herself. The boutique isn't particularly busy, but the store attendants barely look their way as they go about their work. It's strange, but it doesn't bother Irisviel much either.]

Do you enjoy it here? Have you had the same god the whole time?

Oh I'm certain that there are others who have been here far longer than I have. I believe someone has even established a school. He's really rather nice.

[And Garry can only hope that him and his god continue to be at their ceasefire instead of... you know. BBS hope spats. Goodness, he really could avoid that sort of thing...]

I've honestly been rather lucky in that my god has stayed with me this entire time. It's allowed me to just focus on living my life instead of worrying every other day. With that said, it can be rather...

[Pausing at a rack, he considers a breezy dress that's probably going to do favors when it starts heating up again.]

...Frightening sometimes? In that so much can happen. But, then, I start to think that the only way it's different from living a regular life is that it's so much more fantastical. Oh, but I'm not entirely sure that makes sense.

[A school? That's something to look into if only to see what classes are available and who is allowed to attend. My, there's so much to learn.]

I think it does. [Irisviel pulls a long, flowing skirt off the rack and watches how it sways as she moves it.] I've been told about the cultists and seen the dangers of ayakashi already. These are problems that will persist. But if that's part of the everyday, and you look at what remains... well, things aren't that different from everyone else then.

[Their prayers are their jobs, but they're still free to shop and meet others, and enjoy the day.]

You're very lucky to have had the same god the entire time. I hope I can be as fortunate.

[Oh, good, he did manage to make some amount of sense. He was worried, for a moment, since it's not really something he's talked about too much... Or, at least, when he did talk about it with someone, the other party turned out to be a huge pessimist. It didn't really do much for the conversation, he has to say.]

Sometimes, I wonder if it has to do with how lucky he is, honestly. It's apparently something he was quite known for, back in his own home.
