Notes: First of all, post order is a myth, just start out with your character playing one of the game in the top levels I've prepared below and people can react to things as they happen. Don't worry about cohesive story, just go wild with tropes. Threadjacking is fine with me, go wild. Secondly, while some characters were definitely invited (Sanada, Minako, Davesprite), if your character has CR with Chikusa or the others in any way, you're definitely welcome to jump in. Just hit me up on plurk or PM this journal, and we can BS a reason for coming... even if that reason is just party crashing. Third, feel free to make a top level for whatever if you want to do something besides playing


It is done.

Finally, at long last, Chikusa is free from the self-inflicted hell of being forced to do the whole household's chores for a week. It's been a week of pure suffering, where Hakkai hasn't let him get much relief at all, but it's finally over with. Now, at long last, he can get to all the things he actually wants and needs to do.

....But the problem, Chikusa has found, is that after a week of hard work, his brain doesn't want to get to any other kinds of hard work... even if it's hard work that he actually wants to do. His life is fucking suffering.

For a good chunk of his morning, he stares emptily up at his ceiling, wondering what he should even do... but an idea comes to him while flipping back through the BBS- his story that he's working on, to be more exact. Oh, right... He said he would look into visual novels, didn't he? And that sniper anon...

It takes a little bit to get up regardless, and then some more time to take the cupboard money so that he can go down to the Far Shore... but that's fine. That's enough time to text some people he knows while going down to the Far Shore to get the appropriate game system and games.

And thus, that's how a small group has gathered in Hakkai's living room, a bunch of games spread out on the coffee table while Chikusa finishes setting up the game system on Hakkai's shitty old television.

"So just pick whichever one you want to try, I guess... And we can figure out who plays first after."

Hello Minako!

[Oh this is good! Minako is an expert in dating so they will be a really good team to play this game!] I think so! The box had lots of words I didn't understand though! But I think it will be fun!

[reloves]

You just tell me if there's one you don't recognize, then I'll explain it to you! [ She winks at him, a little playfully. But mostly just excited to play these dating games which were practically made for her. ]

You know I'm real good at knowing all about this kind of topic, right?

Okay! [He grins and presses the button to make it start.]

Yes you are an expert on dating so you'll be able to win all these games!

[reloves]

[ Minako grins happily at him before looking at the start of the game. The start of it is.. not quite what she expected, though, especially since she didn't look to see which game exactly he was playing. Are they really playing as a mother? ]

Oh, you have a child..?

They aren't really a child though, they are big! As big as you!

[He read the text carefully.] We moved to a new place and we want to meet new people.

[ Well, she'll gladly take the compliment of not being a kid anymore, thank you. See, this is why Romeo is a bearable kid for sure.

Still, this one seems a little different from the other games here.. She swears the protagonist never had a kid in those. ]

Well, that makes sense.. Then let's see what kind of people we're about to meet! I'm curious!

Okay so we got to go to the first person and say hello. [That's how you make friends right?

They meet Kit first.] Oh look she has two girls! They look the same! [The word comes to him a moment later.] Twins, right?

[reloves]

Right, twins!

[ But Minako is not as interested in the children here. Sorry, Romeo.. ]

But more importantly-- she's a firefighter! Isn't that a totally cool job? [ She may or may not be thinking of those sexy firefighter calendars, sshhh.. She at least won't mention that part out loud. Got to keep the child here pure. ] You know what firefighters are, right?

They fight things with fire? Or they fight fire? [No he isn't really sure, but one of those two seemed correct.]

[reloves]

Well.. Kind of.

[ She'll give him some points for that one. ]

They put out fires! With water, of course. [ She suddenly turns to him, looking Very Serious since this is her ultimate moment to bestow some wisdom upon a young one. (It makes Minako look kind of comical.) ] You have to make sure to never fight fire with your hands! You can't just punch out a fire-- and it'd hurt, too!

[Romeo laughs even though Minako looks Very Serious.] I know that miss Minako! You can't touch fire because it burns you! You got to put lots of water on it until it goes out!

[He's not a baby!]

[reloves]

[ Hey, to Minako anything younger than her might as well be a baby.. ]

Ooh, good, good! I was just trying to make sure you knew before you'd hurt yourself. I'm just that kind of responsible adult! [ Minako is, in no way, a responsible adult. She's not even an adult, for one. But she seems pretty convinced of it anyway as she says it. ]

You are really responsible and smart!

[He grins at her and pauses to read the next bit.] She says... She needs to go now because it's time for her yo...ga class. Is yoga where you learn to fight fires?

[reloves]

[ Minako will need a while to soak in these compliments later.. Romeo is a good kid. Aka the kind of kid who compliments her. But that means she's definitely willing to answer all of this questions for now, even as he's on a very questionable road to date women much older than him. ]

No, yoga is.. um, it's kind of like meditating, but it involves doing more with your body. [ At least that's an innocent enough question to answer. ] Do you know what meditating is?

No miss! What is it?

[He looks around at her even as he presses the button for the next part of the text to come up on the screen.]

It's--

[ She starts confidently, but then slows down, idly watching the text on the screen as her thoughts are still buffering. How do you explain what meditating is? Somehow she doesn't feel like it was something she often did during life, since she can't find much knowledge about it in her mind.. ]

I guess it's kind of like.. relaxing? You try to make your head empty so all your worries go away? Something like that.

Make my head empty?

[That sounded strange and a bit scary, not really relaxing at all!] So you forget everything?

No, no, just for a moment! It's not really forgetting what you know, it's more just about not thinking about it!

[ Minako has already had enough of forgetting everything once due to being a shinki, okay, she doesn't like the idea of just forgetting everything again either.. ]

Don't you usually have a lot of thoughts inside of your head? I know I do-- sometimes my head feels really busy! And I guess meditating is about making sure your head is calm instead.

I guess I sometimes do. So it's making your head calm. [He understands now and nods.] So yoga is making your head calm but moving your body as well?

Yes! I've never done it myself, but I always kind of assumed that the way they make your body move in unusual ways means you're too busy focusing on your body to think about anything else?

Something like that, anyway!

Oh so it's like when you run really fast or swim or climb and you got to concentrate so you don't worry about anything else!

[That was a relief! Making all your thoughts go away had sounded worrying but yoga sounded just like lots of exercise.] I wonder if anyone here knows how to do it! It sounds like fun!
