[open] pump up the jam (a.k.a the fitness mingle post)
Who: Sheryl (
galactically) and YOU!
What: Exercise classes (see the class schedule)
When: April 11th/13th/15th, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM
Where: Menrva's temple @ the ballroom
Warnings: Fanservice, possible violence, and Genos
Notes: Feel free to make your own top-levels! Threadhop to your heart's content. c:
[Sheryl doesn't attend classes too often nowadays due to her work schedule, but she always makes sure to be on time once the clock strikes three thirty — or at least be fashionably early. Even teachers like herself have to look her best, especially in simple but flattering gym clothes. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon, the ballroom is open for all things fitness, and Sheryl plans to give her students one hell of a workout.
Don't let her vibrant smiles fool you; she turns into an enthusiastic yet merciless drill sergeant should you ever fall behind on your exercises. The microphone she carries around has a built-in cord that she uses as a whip — definitely not for show! A certain assistant will also be by her side, and he's just as tough if not more so.
To all slackers... abandon hope all ye who enter.]

Outside the Ballroom
[Nothing brings more prospective students together in one place than good ol' promotion, and Sheryl is not above using whatever is on her disposal to gain more members. She already made a BBS post announcing her classes, so now it's time for another tactic: food.
With a charming smile and a wink, she gestures at a small platter of turkey and cheese sandwiches on a nearby table right next to the sign-up sheet.]
Want to get in shape? Gain some extra muscle on your arms or legs? Build up stamina? Then you've come to the right place!
Exercises
[Congratulations, you're now part of the exercise class — whether you're only just stopping by for one session, visiting out of sheer curiosity, or who knows what else. There is plenty of sweating, stretching, fat burning, and muscle building to be done. Mats are on the floor for people to use, and various equipment such as exercise balls, dumbbells, jump ropes, and hula hoops can be seen. There's also a radio that Sheryl is using to turn up the volume so to speak.
So, what can a typical student expect from Sheryl's class?]
Break Time
[Sheryl may be stringent, but let it be said that she's capable of mercy. Everyone should get a break or two now and then, hence why there are healthy snacks and drinks on the table. She's actually taken the opportunity to make small bowls of pot-au-feu, which smells and looks incredibly edible... and some fruit bars, which look lumpy. Sheryl may excel in certain skills, but baking is not one of them — much to her chagrin, coming from a woman who's usually very confident.
Take this opportunity to socialize, eat some food, sneak out of the ballroom, fool around, hide in the corners, etc.]

Yoga: A whole lot of stretching limbs, balancing acts, and dramatic poses. They start out as simple as lotus positions and cobra poses, but slowly progress into the intermediate positions such as downward-facing dog poses and tree poses. And then... the dreaded plow pose. At least there is music to relax to.
Pilates: Core strength training, breathing, and more stretching through special moves. Feel the burn as you stretch your limbs while squeezing your stomach at the same time!
Other Exercises: Sit-ups, push-ups, jumping jacks, playing with jump rope and hula hoops, etc.
Muscle Training: Want to be super buff? Grab some dumbbells and go to town! They are available from small (about five pounds) to large (about twenty).
Running: Enjoy your laps around the ballroom while catchy music plays in the background! Go race someone! Or you could be a turtle...

[Jae-Ha may be mostly here to people watch, but that doesn't mean he's completely neglecting to exercise himself. Deciding that he can't move freely enough in his robe, he's in only his under shirt (if it can be called a shirt), pants and boots. Yes, he's exercising in boots, but the robe was a problem.
For the most part, he sticks to yoga and pilates, participating at a nice and slow, relaxed pace. Of course, some might catch him staring off at the rest of the participants, but he's just admiring it all!
And if you're not being stared at, then whoever's next to him currently can enjoy him ball-rolling closer and smiling from the sitting up position.]
Hello, hello! Isn't it a lovely day? [He sees nothing wrong with speaking to strangers in the middle of exercise.]
there he goes
[At some point, someone convinces Jae-Ha to jump rope. This goes great for a while! He jumps at a nice pace, picking it up as it quickens until it becomes so fast that he accidentally kicks off with his right leg—
He goes flying upwards, directly into the high ceiling. It's disorienting enough that as he comes crashing down, he may not land as elegantly as he'd like. Watch out!]
There he goes
[And when she saw a shadow rapidly falling towards her. She'd look up - blue eyes wide with shock and realization - as she saw just how high he was falling from and how he was coming crashing right in her direction. Then, her body reacted on pure instinct. A wave of power circled around her hand and she threw up a weakened, percussive shockwave in his direction - to help break his fall a little or deflect it away from her - as she threw herself to the side.]
no subject
Oof!
[It works to keep them from colliding, and thankfully, he's able to use it as a way of flipping back and landing back down on his feet. ...Before immediately crouching down and holding his head.]
That wasn't beautiful at all... [Wait, there had been someone— he looks up quickly in realization, worriedly rushing over to Psyche's side. He'll reach for her hand, if he can.] Are you alright?!
no subject
I-I'm okay. It's just a fall, really. [And not as big as his. She sees the proffered hand and hesitates for a moment before coaxing herself to take it, fingers only jumping up a little at the physical contact. She scanned him over with a critical eye]
Are you okay? You were the one who... [...Fell from the ceiling] ...Took a bigger fall, than me. I mean.
no subject
[He pulls her carefully up to her feet, keeping her hand loosely in his hold as he leans closer to check and see if she's hurt.] I was careless. Are you hurt?
no subject
[After all, a fall like that would usually do a lot more damage to a normal person. But, then again, they weren't exactly 'normal' right now either. Even if the pain was close enough. As he leaned in, though, she automatically leaned back]
Oh-um-not really? [She looked over her free hand again. It was still reddened and there were some hints of possible bruising forming where it'd taken most of her fall. However the sting had gone down, so she tried smiling reassuringly] It's nothing that won't heal soon.
no subject
As small as it is, a pretty girl shouldn't end up hurt like this. It was my fault, so will you let me make it up to you somehow? What would you like? A manicure, maybe? [What should he do to help her feel better in some way...!]
no subject
U-um-well-I don't need anything like that... [Bruising aside, her long, slim fingers had callousing on them and her nails had been clipped short. Something like that would be wasted on her. After a moment's thought, however, she slowly nodded]
However, the snack tables had some cold drinks. That'd probably make a good ice pack or something.
[Or just something for him to use if he needed it from his fall.]
no subject
The mentioning of cold drinks is like an invitation, and he brightens enough to smile at it.]
That's right! Then come, this way... [He won't tug on her bruising hand, so his grip slips away as he gestures for her to follow.] My name is Jae-Ha, by the way. What can I call you?
no subject
Psyche. I work for Lakshimi.
[Or 'Forrest', but it seemed appropriate to use proper titles. After a moment, she asked]
If it's okay to ask, I was wondering....how did you end up there in the first place?
[She hadn't exactly seen something like a ledge up there. Or anything around the ballroom that could send someone flying.]
no subject
[He certainly doesn't mind the question, stopping by the table to grab a cold drink and pass it directly to her hurt hand.]
Well, I was jumping rope and as they began to spin it faster, I got distracted and jumped with my stronger leg. Even trying to control my strength, I ended up going higher than I would have liked.
no subject
[She held the can against her fingers but her grip was loose as she fully processed what he said. She blinked as she turned it over in her head, visualizing it, and her surprise grew.]
You mean... you jumped all the way to the ceiling!?
no subject
[Jae-Ha still isn't sure how he feels about sharing his ability. It seems normal too, but it also doesn't...? He worries and yet he feels like everyone here is odd, so there shouldn't be an issue. It should be fine, right?]
I can jump excellently.

What she doesn't expect is for him to fly all the way to the ceiling and— holy shit]
Everyone, watch out!
[No sooner does Jae-Ha come crashing down that she shrieks in horror, leaping back and making sure she doesn't get squished, oops.]
no subject
I was careless.
[Give him a minute, he'll recover...]
no subject
Jae-Ha! Are you okay?!
no subject
With a cute girl like you worrying over me, I can't feel any pain at all. [His head is throbbing. Is his beautiful face bruised? He has to worry about this as he wobbles a bit while trying to stand up.]
Sorry for scaring you. Are you alright? I nearly crushed you just now.
no subject
The fact that you can still use lame pick-up lines means you're doing just fine!
[Noticing the slight wobbling, though, she walks over and lifts a hand out for him to take.]
Well, I'm fine, but you should go ahead and take a break.
no subject
Then would you accompany me? I'd hate to be alone. I could try one of those rumored "turkey and cheese sandwiches!"
[He needs to find out what kind of cheese they need to buy.]
no subject
Well, she's quick to bounce back, perking up a little with a soft chuckle of amusement. At least Jae-Ha is still in one piece.]
All right, I'll join you... but only so I can let you try one of my delicious sandwiches for yourself. To think that you'll be able to partake in food made by my own two hands!
[And there's a thick amount of haughtiness in her tone, a proud expression with a twinkle in her eye.]
no subject
[He enjoys the haughtiness in her tone, encouraging it with playful little comments like this. His head is still pounding, but hopefully that will go away with time! He'll survive; he's still being like this, after all.]
Do you enjoy coming here, Sheryl?
no subject
[It only takes a few seconds for Sheryl to make up her mind and basically drag Jae-Ha to the other side of the ballroom where there is a table of food, a platter of turkey and cheese sandwiches right in plain sight. She cranes her head during the quick trek and nods.]
The school isn't so bad. I don't mind attending classes here.
no subject
[The fact that groups of people can get together and be taught things here seems so wonderful! He's not sure why, it's just a great thing to witness. He goes along gracefully with the dragging until he reaches the table and can peer over the platter curiously.]
Let's see... [He'll take a plate, and then gently take a little sandwich... But he won't take a bite just yet.] You must have spent a lot of time preparing all of this.
no subject
[Assumption or not, she sounds pleased with Jae-Ha's words regardless. Once they're at the tables, Sheryl reaches for her own slice of the sandwich, taking a few nibbles and making delighted sounds.]
It's my class and these are my students. They at least deserve something nice for attending, don't you think so?
no subject
Certainly! But Sheryl dear, these sandwiches go beyond just "something nice." It's like I can taste the heart you put into these.
