Something Wicked
Who: Romeo and Elfnein
When: 31st March
Where: The Near Shore, Tokyo
What: Another pet is lost on the streets of Tokyo! But it turns out that this problem has an underlying cause!
Since the day, more than two months ago, that Romeo and Elfnein had reunited Kaito with his owner they had had many prayers for missing pets. Cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters and even a tortoise or two! Every few days they would have a new prayer and go and search for the animals and reunite them with their worried owners!
So Romeo was not surprised when he collected the prayers and found one from a little boy who had lost his cat. But then the next one was a little boy who had lost a puppy and the third a little girl whose whole hutch of rabbits had ran away.
"Elfnein! We got lots of prayers!" He hurried into the library to find the map they had been using. It had been Elfnein who had first realised that all of the prayers were on the same few streets and she had come up with the map idea. Just like the markers they had left on the street she had shown Romeo how to find the places on the map and they put little dots where the pets had gone missing.
He spread the map out and sat, face full of concentration as he tried to find the streets on the new prayers they had gotten.

"Romeo do you have a list of the street names for the new requests?"
no subject
"They've got addresses on them too!"
no subject
Elfnein knows there's something going on with the locations, but each time they go out to find a missing animal there's really nothing out of the norm.
"This isn't just a simple missing pet case, something else must be going on."
no subject
Because nothing seems strange but pets don't run away from home that often, not when all their owners seem so happy to have them back!
Romeo went to grab the pet finding kit, it had all the essentials, some toys, various pet treats for different animals, a blanket and even a lead for getting animals home that were too big to pick up!
no subject
"Alright, let's start by making sure the map is correct and adjust it when we get there."
no subject
A map with all the streets in the whole world would be bigger than this whole library, Romeo thought.
no subject
She was glad that making a map in the first place was useful, all the pieces were starting to fall into place now. It only made sense to track everything down and log it.
no subject
They knew what they were doing now, the moment they appeared on the street Romeo rushed to grab some rocks to make a marker, then Elfnein could read the map and figure out what house the pet belonged to. Then they could go from there!
no subject
"We need to be careful with the traffic near the next house."
She pointed at the spot on the map to show Romeo so they would be on the same page.
no subject
They go so fast! But at least they are loud so it's quite easy to hear them coming.
"It's this way then!" Looking at the map again to check he begins to lead the way.
no subject
"What other information did they give us?"
no subject
A soft bark stopped him and he turned round to see a little dog in a alley, barking at them. It must be them because they were the only people on the street right now. Also...
"That's Kaito!" The first ever dog they had found! They had no prayer to say he was missing again but there he was, barking, clearly trying to get their attention.
no subject
Elfnein went up to him and gave him a pat on the head so he wouldn't try to run away or get scared.
"Is he on the prayer list again? I don't remember his owner making another request."
no subject
"I think he wants us to go with him!"
Kaito barked again.
no subject
Dogs are smart animals, maybe they could use Kaito to help track everything down via smell.
no subject
They weren't too far away, in a small area about in the middle of all the streets they had been investigating when they came across what Kaito wanted them to see!
A huge fox shaped ayakashi towers over some terrified rabbits and kittens in the corner. A veritable army of other animals, dogs, cats, a tortoise and even six rats were standing around, making angry noises.]
no subject
"This explains a lot of what was going on with the local pets in the area."
The central location, the types of pets and the amount of missing animals. It all fit together as soon as they saw the fox ayakashi.
"We need to save the animals from the fox"
no subject
"Borderline!" Romeo threw up a shield between the ayakashi and the rabbits and kittens so that the ayakashi couldn't hurt them!
Unable to get to it's pray the ayakashi turned around, seeing the other animals and Elfnein and Romeo!
"We gotta rend it!" Because now it was going after some dogs and a cat and Romeo can't put up borderlines around everywhere! He can only do one at a time!
no subject
Elfnein was putting herself between the borderlines and the animals, even if it wasn't much she didn't want them getting hurt.
"If you turn into your shinki form we can give these guys a boost and they can head someplace safe before we try and strike."
no subject
He listened to her idea, Elfnein always had the best ideas and knew exactly what they had to do!
"Okay! I'm ready!"
He nods at her, ready for her to call his name and make him transform.
no subject
"Ringoki!"
"Everyone, try and get away from here while we take care of the mean fox!"
She faced the animals and spoke with a concerned tone but also made sure to speak loud enough so they all heard her. Along with that she drew an arrow pointing away with her power so they had a visual as well.
no subject
With Elfnein's words the arrow and the surge of hope all the animals began running towards the alley way, sending encouraging yips and barks in their direction.
Okay! They are all counting on us Elfnien! We got to beat this bad fox!
no subject
Part of that pep talk was to calm herself down, Elfnein was scared about facing the big bad fox even if they had grown stronger lately.
"We can do this... we can do this."
no subject
"Yes! Just take a deep breath, say the spell and then I'll jump at them and you rend and it will be gone!"
And quickly, because the fox is angry now that his prey have all left and is running towards them, this ayakashi has many many more teeth than a normal fox does!
no subject
She gave a nod for Romeo to start his part of the plan and got ready to rend the fox.
no subject
He's ready to jump, ready with his borderline. It would take all of their skills combined in order to win this fight!
no subject
She trusted Romeo's attack plan and stared down the fox as she did the spell. The bad fox wouldn't get away from them now.
no subject
"You did it! You beat the big bad fox!" The weasel ran back to scramble back up onto Elfnein's shoulders, victorious.
no subject
She's still really surprised at being able to defeat monsters, it wasn't the first monster they've gotten but it still felt like it was.
"We really did it Romeo, the animals won't be in danger now"
no subject
There was a bark and Kaito came running from the alley way, followed by the other animals. He ran up to Elfnein to lick her fingers.
Romeo made the weasel clamber onto Elfnein's head and he did a happy dance. See they are all so happy! You made them all safe again!
no subject
"Let's get everyone home before anything else happens."

Since a full parade without order would be a mess in the streets and people would think something strange is going on.
no subject
no subject
"I think that's everyone?"
no subject
"I think it is!"
He ran back up her leg to nestle in her hair again.
"We did a really good job! I'm glad they are all safe!"
