[ Almost on cue, a portal opens nearby and Ain steps out of it as if from a doorway. He looks serene as always; unperturbed. ]

We need to help someone out. There's this farmer and his animals are getting killed. I'm concerned about it.

[ He sits over and plays with the kittens.]

[ There is a pause as Ain's gaze narrows, just subtly. ]

We can go. Do you know where they are?

Yup, we can go together. Do you have time now?

[Ain might be busy because he's a god and he may have duties Ren doesn't know about.]

I can show you where it is.

[abgrund]

[ Utsushi can take care of the rest, he's sure. ]

Make sure you have brought everything you need along.

I'll bring a notebook and pen. Just incase.

[Ren packs a small backpack with things they might need.]

[ Ain considers this for a moment. He is quite self-contained by himself, so the only thing he probably would need is... holy water. But then again, he can't carry that himself. ]

Put this in your bag.

[ He's taken the precautions to fill a bottle with it while being careful and wearing gloves. ]

Got it. I'll take care of it with our other things.

[Ren picks up the bottle and carefully places it into the bag.]

We don't need anything else right? Last call. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

[ A strange thing to ask the god of death for, but. ]

We should be good. Give me the address and I should be able to take us there.

[ There's no need for small talk when they are on business, so Ain leads Ren out to the Near Shore in silence. He would need to check a digital device for the exact address, but the use of GPS lets him find the location after he knows what he should be searching for.

With the use of a portal, they arrive a short walk from the farm, as to not alarm anyone that could be nearby. The road is quite empty, compared to the city street they left.

[Yep, it's time to go!! Ren goes around and asks the farmers for any information. They'll soon be guided into the area with animals. So, this is where the animals are getting killed and it's pretty horrible. Ren's spending time checking the area more closely. ]

Hey, Ain. Something fishy's going on here and I'm not talking about the smell. Do you notice anything?

[ He does notice something. The lingering smell of death. ]

Darkness, perhaps. You?

[ It could be an ayakashi feeding off these, or some sort of other curse. ]
