Who: Roxas and Sora
When: April 2nd
Where: Freyr's Homestead
What: Kotatsu things
[Roxas had insisted he get a kotatsu for his new home, even if he had to awkwardly get it home. It wasn't like he could order a delivery service to bring it to the temple. It was just after living with Shiro, he was used to the comfort of the warm tables, and wanted to have one of his own. It was April. Time to put it away. The blond wanted to use it at least one more time before spring cleaning was a thing and he has to make due without it till it was cold again.
So why not invite Sora over to his new homefinally? There's tea, there's snacks, and Roxas has set up an area close enough to the kitchen that wouldn't be in the way. Plus, the cats seemed content enough to spend their days playing with the boars on the temple grounds. It should be quiet... Hopefully... And he deserves some downtime after what happened with the cultists...
All Roxas has to do is wait for Sora and figure out what to do entertainment wise. And hope his heart stops beating so hard. Worst comes to worst, he'll probably just fall asleep waiting...]

He arrives mostly on time, taking a long minute or two to admire the temple grounds outside before he heads to the door. This place is pretty impressive. A total scene change from his own home temple. He knocks.]
no subject
You found it!
[That's not how to say hello, but alright, this can be worked with. Moving aside, he motions for Sora to come inside.] The animals didn't bother you, did they?
no subject
Yup! Only got lost once or twice! [Just kidding!] And nah but I hope you'll introduce me to them later.
[He wants to be friends with the boars. But first, it's hanging out with Roxas so he steps inside.]
no subject
[Door is closed and Roxas leads Sora into what would be the closest thing to a living room.]
Do you like tea?
no subject
[He wants to ask more about Roxas' new god as well but that will come. For now, he follows Roxas with a bit of a nervous giddy feeling in his stomach.]
Tea's good. Do you have sugar?
no subject
[Shiro was cool and all, but so many cats were noisy. Kosmo, too.]
We have cane, beet, raw and turbinado sugar. Oh and rock sugar. I'm... Not sure what the differences are. Each of them is sweet.
no subject
[Sora glances at Roxas, his eyes lingering for a second before he looks away. It's really good to hear that Roxas is happy here and that he likes it.]
And that's a lot of different sugars. I didn't even know there were that many sugars! Can I have them all at once? [Is Sora joking? Who knows??]
no subject
[It was good when Soleil came into his life when she did. It made losing his god and dear friends a lot easier to deal with.
Roxas raises an eyebrow.]
If you want syrup instead of tea, sure?
no subject
Sure! Come on, let's try it. [He grins excitedly. Will that many different kinds of sugar make it a super sugar?] I bet it'll be really good.
no subject
[Don't touch the turbinado, Sora, it's strong.]
We have fruit teas and vanilla ones. What kind do you want?
no subject
Aww... Roxas, you can't just mention all those sugars like that and not wanna try it.
[He smiles a bit after that.]
But I guess I'll have vanilla.
[He'll get syrup tea someday.]
no subject
Too much sugar isn't good for you. It can make you sick!
[Good. Now that blond can escape to make that. He walks to the kitchen and nods.]
Go ahead and sit down. There's cookies on the table... Please tell me if they're good or not. I haven't made those kinds before.
[Thumbprint with strawberry jam and chocolate chip sea salt cookies.]
no subject
I've never heard of anyone getting sick off sugar before! I don't believe it!
[He glances down at the plate of cookies and suddenly Sora feels a little warm in the cheeks.]
You baked cookies just for today?
no subject
It happens! On the internet there's a disease that comes from too much sugar. I just don't remember what it's called.
[Diabetes. It's diabetes. And he's only half right on that.]
Yeah. Why not? Jakob's been teaching me, and Soleil likes snacks with tea time. So we make our own. She's a lot better at it than I am.
no subject
That's pretty great, Roxas. Nanako and me have been cooking a lot together too. I'm not the best at it. It's kind of weird that she's so tiny but way better at cooking than I am.
[His fingers reach for one of the strawberry looking cookies.]
no subject
[Almost daily when the man can. It's a little weird, but Roxas won't complain since the food is good.
Carefully, he brings a tray with the teapot and cups on it, four containers with spoons sticking out alongside those items. It's place on the table as Roxas thinks about where to sit.]
It's... different having a god who knows how to cook. My first god couldn't, and Shiro can barely make coffee... so Soleil knowing how to cook is great.
no subject
[Jakob was actually kind of mean but Sora did his best to be his friend anyway.
He leans an elbow on the tabletop as he brings one of the cookies to his lips and nibbles on it. But the nibbling is quickly replaced by a generous bite.]
Hmm--! Roxas! These are really good! Really!
no subject
[Sorry, Jakob, Roxas is spilling your secrets.
Roxas finally sits down on the right side of Sora, leaving ample room between them. Just in case.]
Good. I'm glad! I don't know how they were supposed to taste, so I guess I got lucky.
no subject
[Honestly Sora had no idea how to take that at the time. It confused him. But of course, he wasn't really able to ask more about why he had to stay in line. Did he do something bad? Who knows. It's something that will always frustrate Sora. Not being able to ask ... Why.
But he puts that thought away again with thoughts of Nanako. And thoughts of more cookies. Sora finishes one and reaches for another.
... He also notices how far away Roxas sits and he wonders about that.]
Maybe you could try to help me to learn how to bake sometime.
no subject
[Or would that be against the rules? This place has too many of those.
Cheeks coloring softly, Roxas looks at the cookies with a rather intense look.]
I can try? I'm not that good at it yet. I can make cookies and pizza, but that's about it.
no subject
[Sora carefully shifts and scoots a little closer to Roxas and plays it off with wanting to help set up the rest of the tea cups...]
You're probably still better at making things than me. [He tilts his head to grin at Roxas.]
no subject
[It's not noticed that Sora's now closer till Roxas turns to the other to reply. His cheeks turn just a little pinker.]
M-Maybe? You won't know till you show me what you can do? You might be better!
no subject
Thanks, Roxas. I'll ask you if I need you to tell him that. [He nibbles some more on his second cookie.]
These cookies really are great, though. Thanks for all this.
[Not just the cookies but the time together too.]
no subject
I hope he gets nicer. He cooks super well. Like, restaurant well!
[Keep praising the cookies, he's swelling with pride that they turned out well.]
You're welcome? I just figured you'd wanna see where I live now since I have a new god.
no subject
That's right. What's she like? What's it like living here?
