[OPEN] Trials and tribulations / I've had my share
Who: Kairi and YOU!
When: March 24th 2017 - April 21st 2017 (January 18th 2019 - March 14th 2019)
Where: Leo's Temple, near the Meeting Hall, the Library, or anywhere else in the Far Shore
What: Training, of the Shinki Spell variety
---
Option A: Training - Leo's Temple, near the Meeting Hall, etc.
[ No matter what day it is, Kairi and her fellow Shinki friends inevitably end up talking about spells. She's kind in her offers to talk about Spellwork after finally being confident in her mastery of several of them, but she always comes back to the same thing...
It's one thing to talk about it, it's another thing entirely to make the spell happen. It requires practice. It requires a real stare-down of one shinki against another, trying to overcome each other's willpower. And Kairi, well...
She's pretty sure that around the time she felt confident enough to explain spells to someone she didn't know that well was around the time that her will to defend against another shinki's spell started to increase too. Now she has another reason to keep up her training - with Hajime gone, she's at her 3rd god, and she doesn't want to lose another. Some of that she knows she doesn't have control over, but the times when she does? Fighting ayakashi? That's when she doesn't want to let Leo down - or by extension, Forrest.
So she'll go wherever her training partner wants to in order to practice today. ]
Option B: Research in a New Age - Leo's Temple, the Library, Hakkai's School, etc
[ The funny thing about knowing so many spells herself was that Kairi started to become even more curious about what other spells were out there. She couldn't contact Kazuma or Yukine anymore, nor Lavi or Izuku, so she resorts to going to the Library to look through the books on her own.
Maybe she'll find a new spell, or maybe she'll find more about the... theory behind spells, for lack of a better word. Kairi knew enough about the magic of her own world now to know that some things were predictable, or advancements of other spells and not really new spells at all. So what kind of "theory" made the Shinki spells work? And could she crack it enough to stop needing to learn individual spell names - especially with her old tutors all gone? ]
Option C: Wild(card) Magic!
[ If it's anything related to spells or magic from your canon's world, that would be cool to talk about! If it's anything else you can think of related to Shinki spells and magic in the Far Shore, that's cool too! ]

Chris! Hi there!
[ It was a huge castle, but there was still a nice lawn that Kairi could greet them at and walk with them up the grounds. ]
And this must be your shinki. My friend Joy is waiting for us just inside. We'll be able to talk in one of the side rooms or we can go out back to the gardens if you like?
no subject
Yes, indeed. I am Lady Ishtar's shinki. It is a pleasure to meet you, miss Kairi.
[He looked expectantly at Chris... who recovered quickly before visibly fumbling as she starts to answer Kairi.]
O-oh, uhm. The side rooms sound alright. We can look at the gardens later, if there's time...
no subject
Oh wow, you're much more... outgoing than Joy is. Maybe it's because of what happened to her... we first met because she needed an ablution.
[ She gestures a little to Chris though, waving about a misunderstanding. ]
I didn't mean to just show you the gardens for the sake of it - I meant giving us enough space to demonstrate things without being out front of Odin's Temple like this.
no subject
I am always at my lady's service. It is best to be approachable when doing so, isn't it? I cannot speak towards your friend, however.
[Chris nods.]
Ah, I get you. Okay then. Let's head there, then?

She stops out in the Garden and gestures to Joy. ]
Joy, this is Chris and Luger. Chris and Luger, meet Joy. She accidentally got blight on her once while she and her god were fighting an ayakashi, and the God dismissed her before she blight him any more. Left like that... she went to the Soulless Shinki temple, and that's where we found her - a few of my fellow shinki managed to perform an ablution on her. After that, she came to stay with my god and I at our temple. He's not here anymore, so she followed me to my second god's temple, and now my third.
I'm still a shinki. [ She holds up her right hand, on the back of which reads JOU ] But if I give Joy an order like a god would, she listens.
no subject
[Chris nods.]
Likewise.
[And with that, they follow Kairi and the other shinki. Chris finds herself frowning as she listens to that, her expression forming into a mixture of a frown and a scowl.]
That's horrible. To just toss her away like that... I'm glad you and the others were able to heal her, Kairi, and that she was able to find you.

[ She reaches out towards Joy. ]
Onki!
[ The ON symbol lights up on Joy's neck before she disappears into a Ribbon-dancing stick in Kairi's hand. ]
Looks kinda similar... [ She turns to face Chris again. ] doesn't it?
no subject
Oh! So... you've figured out that shinki can name soulless shinki too, huh? Luger and I were told that by my shinki, Ginia.
[She eyes the ribbon dancing stick, before tilting her head to the side.]
Similar? How do you mean?
no subject
[ She turns over the stick again though. ]
I've seen cracked vessels before too, and this is something different entirely.
no subject
[She eyes it.]
What's... a cracked vessel like? I've never seen one.
no subject
[ That's all she knows, not how they get cracked in the first place. ]

I see. Well, that sounds obvious enough. Thank you Kairi, I'll keep my eye out.
Wrap? Or soon?
[ Aaaand... maybe she can lean in for a hug? She'll pull back if Chris recoils though. She just wants to thank Chris properly. ]
wrap is fine
I-I try. And uhm. Thanks.
