Who: Obi & you
When: 14th of April
Where: A Far Shore park, where Aine’s temple used to be, and by Inti’s temple
What: Memory blues, fairy horse, missing people.
Morning, a Far Shore park
[ There’s the wave of memories that Obi dreamt. Obi very nearly fell out of the tree he spent the night in. But only nearly, because he managed to grab onto a branch in time to stop himself from falling all the way down. But then he just ended up dangling there for a while.
And he’s just hanging there, holding on to the branch with one hand. The other he rubs against the back of his neck awkwardly, and he’s staring off in the distance without really paying attention to what’s going on around him.
He’s still seeing the snowy landscape of Lyrias, and he’s a bit hung up on some of the things he’s just learned about himself.
Serving a prince? Him? A knight? Him? That had to be some sort of joke, these memories had to be fabricated— except he can tell that they’re not and... it’s weird. ]
Forenoon, near Aine’s former temple grounds
[ This morning the weather is lovely. Or maybe it isn’t, Obi is not actually bothering to care, his mind is otherwise occupied. (But it is lovely weather and Obi is probably the only one not noticing.)
First, he dreams a bunch of memories of all sorts of weird things that he really can’t deny even though they feel off in combination with the memories of Tourou.
Then, he notices that Miss Yona’s temple is gone, which definitely makes him sad. He likes Miss Yona, and he’ll miss her. She was one of the people he had become closest to.
He linger a while in the vicinity of the site where her temple had been. He doesn’t know why. Lata’s words in his memories, the red-haired royal pharmacist and the presence he faintly remembers at his side, might have something to do with it. He’s a little frustrated. He also doesn’t know why he lingers, but he stays there a while, up in a tree, carving arrowheads out of flint and pieces of bone and horn.
Small pieces that are carved away fly through the air, and might on occasion hit people; though they’re small shards and wouldn’t hadrly hurt, they’re not so small they’re completely unnoticeable. ]
Afternoon, near Inti’s temple
[ He had passed by on various occasions during the day, he generally does without making any noise of himself, just to check up on things (that is, on his Mistress; their relationship might be what it was but he’d still be troubled if Celestia just went up disappeared on him) and as a result he had seen the fairy horse hanging around the vicinity of his mistress’ temple.
The fairy horse (that is, fae mare) usually was one of the animals hanging around Aine’s orchard, but apparently it had not disappeared together with the Miss.
Obi had spent a fair amount of time at Yona’s place, her gardens in particular, since that was a good place to take naps, and as a result he’s familiar with the fae mares. It’s no surprise to find him petting this one after a while, once he’s settled at least a bit of the feelings from the emotions from this morning. The fae mare, familiar with Obi and as a result also finding his presence calming, gently nuzzles his hair and ear in return for the nuzzles she is getting from him ]
Did you get left behind, Little Miss? It’ll be fine, we’ll solve it one way or other.
[ He casts, on occasion, glances toward his mistress’ temple. Maybe... But things are like that between them... But he’s apparently already serving a prince? Served a prince? So a queen is really just the next step. But... He groans a little. Damn it, he doesn’t know what to think. He was a thug, right? An assassin. Used to be. At least from the memories of Tourou, that much was clear. But then he- how the hell did he end up serving a prince? How the hell did a guy like him get knighted?
The mare nuzzles his face, and Obi blinks at her. ]
Yeah I need to give that whole thing a good think-through huh. I don’t even know what I am supposed to be anymore, Little Miss.

So now she's gone too. [ A statement of the fact, really. He might try to hide his melancholy about that fact, but he's not good with hiding feelings. And seeing Yona disappear had put him in this kind of mood. They knew each other for the longest time, and while he knows she's probably (hopefully happy to return (because she did return, right?) home- losing another friend is never a fun experience ] Probably a thing to celebrate- but I don't feel in mood for that.

When he speaks, Obi glance up at him again, this time letting his gaze linger instead of moving away again soon after looking at him. Caster appears more tense than Obi does, but Obi is a pretty good actor. ] Mmh, I'm sure she'll get busy back in her world too. [ If that's where she's disappeared off to. It hopefully is, and she hopefully doesn't get into too much trouble over there. ] No raising a glass in her honor, then?
no subject
Oh, I most likely will. [ Raise a glass, that's it ] And I'm open for the company if that's your thing. Sharing good stories and memories too--
[ That's another way to honor those lost ]
Or listening. I can do that too.
[ He doesn't know what kind of relationship Obi and Yona had, he's not aware of the god-shinki bond that was there. But she clearly mattered to him, otherwise, he wouldn't spend so much time here now in silent mourning. That is something they share. ]
no subject
Raising a glass is my thing, but I'm better at listening, I think. So I can do that for you.
[ He can share a story o two, probably, but he's still a very private person. If it's about other people then it's easier though. He really does do better at listening (he's prone to listen in on gossip) and be company. Drinking, he's very fond of doing. ]

morning
Like, you know, when Minako is taking a walk through a park in the morning and there's just someone hanging onto a branch with one hand. At first she jogs over, figuring she should help out before that person falls, but.. then he just keeps hanging there. Like nothing is up. So he's probably not in danger?
And oh, hey, she even recognizes him! So she's just going to raise her voice to speak to him. ]
Hey, up there..!
no subject
Obi tips his head forward; he heard the sound of approaching footsteps, but he ignored it until he noticed he was being addressed and had to avert his attention from the thoughts swirling around inside of his head. ]
Hello, Miss Minako, good morning. Are you out for a run?
[ Acting like it's totally normal to just dangle from a tree by the one hand. ]
no subject
Um.. yeah! Pretty much.
[ --she still can't help but ask. ]
So.. are you maybe.. part owl or something? [ Hey, at least she didn't say "monkey". Which also would've been apt. ]
no subject
"Monkey" is not apt, that's Mihaya. Not that Obi remembers that scarfed mountain monkey and his suspiciousness. (It's stray cat that's the accurate one.) ]
Owl? Why do you think that?

Forenoon
Until he comes across Miss Yona's temple, or at least what was left of it. He stops dead in his tracks looking at where the temple once was. Yona had always been kind to him, she had made every effort to help him feel comfortable when he had been Kija's shinki. He had spent Christmas in this temple and it was a place he had good memories of.
He couldn't believe she was gone. He stood staring for a moment before something small hit his cheak and he looked up, around. Finally spotting the boy in the tree.
He's seen him before. In the national park, he had been up a tree then too.] Hello...
no subject
Obi has seen the kid around, they might even have talked, but he's got too many fresh memories to search all the faces that he's seen on and off in this place because there are just so many people that come and go and temporarily stick around for a bit.
His hands didn't stop working, even as he looked away from what they're doing. ]
Hello, Mister.
no subject
He wonders what the man is doing and why he is here at all. He bent down to pick up the object that had hit his cheek.
Wood...] Are you making something sir?
no subject
I'm making arrow heads so I can make arrows.

Morning
And well, sometimes, these walks can be surprising. Like now.]
Hm?
[Seeing a dangling person, he walks over with some concern. Until he's close enough to recognise Obi.]
... Er, what are you doing?
[Some kind of training exercise?]
no subject
[ It's not the best morning or he wouldn't be hanging there but he can just pretend that hanging there was a deliberate choice, right? That's perfectly fine and only Mistress might be able to really bust him. Okay, maybe a few other people, but she'd sense his emotions- which is always an unpleasant thought. ]
I'm seeing if it's easy to fall asleep while lifting myself. That way I'd be able to train and nap at the same time!
[ Slightly too much enthusiasm but, who'd ever know, right? ]
no subject
I'm not sure that would work. Wouldn't it be dangerous?
[Is this like... a training version of sleepwalking?]
You would make yourself tired enough to sleep. But sleeping and training at the same time might be... hard.
no subject
[ Obi peers down at the ground underneath him. ]
Does it look that dangerous?
[ He looks back toward Yamanbagiri. ]
But if it's hard then it's a challenge and just better to get better!
forenoon
Is everything alright? Something hit me just now.
[ He pulls out a piece of wood that got stuck in his hair for some reason.]
What are you doing? That seems unsafe.
no subject
Eh? Oh, sorry, sorry.
[ Well, things will fly. At least Ren didn't get it in his eye. Because man, that would hurt. ]
It's only unsafe if not used safely. I'm making arrowheads.
no subject
I've never made an arrow head before.
[He doesn't know what kind of process is done to manufacture them. Oddly enough, he's interested as well.]

afternoon, sorry for late tag, but HORSE
Well, Maxie also has a companion who needs to stop shutting herself off from other people lately. She'll be along in just a moment. ]
no subject
Obi might not be too impressed with Hibiki, but he does like Maxie. ]
Why if it isn't Mister Maxie. Good afternoon to you.
no subject
He seems to be doing well. Indeed, he looks like someone has been taking extra-good care of him! (And that, in turn, someone has taken the care to hire someone to take extra good care of him...) ]

Afternoon, and finally getting to this!
[Oh dear. Has she ever mentioned the wolves that live on her temple grounds to him?]
Obi? Is everything all right?
no subject
(Obi knows about the wolves, he's got no issues with them.) ]
Ah, hello Mistress. Why wouldn't everything be alright?
[ Never mind that she's most likely felt some of the emotions he's been dealing with... It's been a long day. ]
no subject
I wouldn't expect to find you here, or in such company. So unusual occurrences make me worry something is amiss.
